  1. There comes a point in the life of many a thread / post where because of the collective vast experience of the BR membership , the picture (and often the future) becomes very clear. For you & this thread (as well as your others) this point has been reached. When suggestions are made repeatedly it's because they are the best course of action. When these suggestions are ignored & / or blatantly disregarded, the membership becomes anxious, and with good reason. The writing is on the wall. You are about to fall down the well Timmy. And it's a mother trying to climb up that old rotting rope. A-Jay
  2. Perfect ~ I was going to say Hummingbird Contour Elite ~ Great Lakes Edition. A-Jay
  3. Hello Nathan and Welcome to Bass Resource ~ Thoughtful first post but you're preaching to the choir. A-Jay
  4. Just watched the Red Sox bullpen BLOW IT ~ Again . . . . . ! A-Jay
  5. Impressive ~ That type of early season bass action is surely worth the long drives. Looks like you're both primed for a Banner year of Big Bass ~ Great work guys Congrats A-Jay
  6. Spool off the braid and when you put it back on - do so under more tension than you used the first time. If the braid is wound on somewhat tightly, there is less chance it will dig into itself. A-Jay
  7. Nice Bass ~ Congrats on a Great Start A-Jay
  8. Sweet ~ ! Nice Bass Congrats A-Jay
  9. I've been fishing for 50 years and there I times where I feel like I know nothing about the sport too ~ Some days we just don't catch them - may not be doing anything "Wrong" per se - it's more like the bass may be in a negative mood or they are not where we are fishing. No one catches them all the time. But we keep going, keep trying things, keep learning and most importantly - having fun while we're doing it. Something we hear from time to time when the bite is tough is "Let the fish tell you want they want" ~ So on those tough bite days, the fish seem to be telling me that they want me to enjoy my day out on the water and to get a lot of casting practice . . . . Keep at it, your time will come - it always does. A-Jay

Hello and Welcome to Bass Resource ~ A-Jay
  11. Very Nice. Your proficient jig tying skills are clear matched by your ability to present them effectively. Congrats A-Jay
  12. Hello Nathan and Welcome to Bass Resource ~ The Live bait vs Artificial presentation conundrum is a good one. Anglers experienced in using both when targeting bass may tell you there are times on certain lakes, rivers & resivors where live bait will completely out perform artificial bait. Other times, even on the same body of water where the lures will catch both more & bigger bass. The variables are many and sometimes it even simply comes down to personal preference. Good Luck with your research paper and don't forget to list Bass Resource as one of your sources of information. A-Jay
  13. Nice Bass ~ Really enjoyed your video - Nice work Thank You for sharing it. A-Jay
  14. Full on Frog Choking Fatty ~ ! Congrats A-Jay

  17. Wow ~ Have a Weekend Guys ~ ! Congrats on winning The Cup and to Blue for landing that Beast of a Flathead. Of course that second cat was no slouch either but after Old Mr. Huge Head that one didn't quite seems as big. Loved how you made sure your best friend made it into the Trophy picture, sort of looks like a Canine Photo Bomb . . . Nice Job. A-jay
  18. Hello Gabby and Welcome to Bass Resource ~ A-Jay
  19. I fish alone a good majority of the time. A-Jay
  20. In a completely unprecedented turn of events - I routinely use . . .wait for it . . . A Spinning rod & reel for jerkbaits. It allows for a very long cast (especially with 10lb Braided line) which provides fish more time to find, track & eat the lure. I especially like it for the deeper diving variety of Jerkbaits. The St Croix Legend Tournament Bass TBS71MF / PLASTICS rod is Very Good with 1/2 oz baits. A-Jay
  21. You did not mention what type of hook you were using Single, Double Or Treble. Rusting out in freshwater takes a while. You could mash down the barbs - that would facilitate easy removal. You could utilize a pair of pliers to assist you with extra hook removal power. You could even use this ~ That would definitely be pretty good. A-Jay
  22. Hello Chad and Welcome to Bass Resource ~ A-Jay
  23. If this is Sarcasm, then ha ha. If you actually believe this - Extra Ha Ha. I guess the disclaimer is I've never actually fished in a laboratory. However, the Brown bass round these parts (northern Michigan) are often quite aggressive with water temps in the 40's. (Spring & Fall) In fact, it's one of my favorite times of the whole year to target plus size bass - and plenty of them. Granted, there's no place for a 8:1 gear ratio reel but it's certainly not wasting time either. And I would be remiss if I failed to mention that I had quite a good day yesterday with a jerkbait while one third of the lake was still covered up by ice. A-Jay
  24. Yes Please do that ~ Again I really do appreciate it - you are most generous. A-Jay And it was even worse before ice out ~ A-Jay
  25. Thank You. One of the deals with being the first humans to take first production run delivery of a new design is we have to endure the Tweeks. I'll be passing the "6 " Riser Bracket" info on to my dealer. I'm having ALL of the aftermarket options installed at & by the dealer. This will provide an opportunity for me to be present during the work - in fact the dealership invited me. I'll be taking them up on that invitation. I'm that guy. I went with the Optimax and the prop upgrade (Tempest Plus I think) so I'll see how that goes. Which screw are you running ? A-Jay
