  1. Hello and Welcome to Bass Resource ~ Might be kind of hard to tell which reel you may prefer by simply holding it in your hand. Have you mounted it on the rod you plan on using with it and then perhaps made a few casts with one or both reels ? That could help A-Jay
  2. Hello Shane and Welcome to Bass Resource ~ Congrats on a great outing. By All Means, post the pictures of those Beastly Bass. We love that stuff - A-Jay
  3. If you do a search for Srounger threads & posts you'll find a bunch. http://www.bassresource.com/bass-fishing-forums/search/?&q=scrounger&type=forums_topic&search_and_or=or&start_after=1325376000&start_before=1460246400 It's not a super popular presentation but it is Very Effective & Outrageously Versatile. I'm a big fan of the 3/8 oz long bill but do fish the 1/2 & even the 3/4 oz baits when the circumstances dictate. After some trial & error - The Tremor head is the only bait I'll throw. It possesses the best Blade size & stoutest hook I've found. http://www.tnrivertacklecompany.com/officialpage_006.htm These bait "Balance" very well which may be part of the problem your having with the baits you're throwing now. Clearly your trailer choice is crucial as one that is overly large or small (both on length & or mass) can retard the baits inherent vibrating action. Additionally, some swimbait type trailers seem to contradict the baits sweet shimmy - and that's where all the magic lies so that's a big problem. If there was one single piece of advice I can pass regarding Scrounger type bait, it's that you can never fish them Too Slow. The slower the better. And a pause is often so very good too. Think Low & Slow and then slow down some more - regardless of the water temp. Good Luck A-Jay

  12. This is quite a Coincidence ~ I just sold my 2006 GTO 3 weeks ago to help fund a new boat purchased. I was very fortunate in that it worked out and the boat is on order. I also went with an aluminum hull (Lund). Good Luck A-Jay
  13. ~ X2 ~ IMO, One of if not The Most important factors when choosing a bottom contact bait for presentations in very clear water. A-Jay
  14. Hello and Thank You for your Service Welcome to Bass Resource. Not being from that area, can't offer advice. But someone will be along shortly, they always are. Don't forget to stop by the Introductions Forum and tell us a little about yourself & your fishing. A-Jay
  15. With the males left on the beds (perhaps guarding fry) looking for the females is a decent plan. As the big mamas vacate the shallows and head toward deeper water, they often stop at the first or nearest cover to rest and feed. They're famished after the spawning ordeal and receptive to a several presentations. Fish what your confident in. Heavy fishing pressure may prompted a downsize of your bait and checking out spots outside backwater spawning areas could pay off. A-Jay
