  1. Thanks all of ya'll for all the info... If anyone else has anything to add I'm trying to put together a killer 2 weeks for my buddy.
  2. Thanks Alot guys, I actually get both of those newsletters. I am more curious about Aquia Creek. I can't believe there isn't that many people on the forums that fishes Aquia.
  3. You must be pretty good if you can hold a camera and a fishing pole at the same time while working the both of them.... LOL ;D ;D ;D
  4. HAHAHAHA X2!!!! ;D ;D ;D
  5. It has been several day since I have been out on the Potomac river (Aquia Creek) If anyone has any input on how the fishing is and what is good right now that would help me. I have a buddy coming home from Iraq on a 2week leave and I promised him all the fishing he could possibly want. I even plan on taking him to a tournament to let him get a taste of tournament fishing so when he gets home for good I will have a fishing partner!!! But Any help so I could put him on the fish would help us out a lot. I plan on going out on Wed. night and I just don't want him to be dissappointed. Thanks!!!!
  6. It depends on the area I am fishing... If I am fishing a heavily fished lake I will always peg my weight cuz I don't want the bass to feel my weight sliding as I'm reeling down to set the hook. If I fish in a tidal area I will only peg my weight when the tide is strong or in deep water.

    Nice bass!!!! Congratulations!!!!
  8. Yea the only reason I really want to learn is because I went out with Chai from the forums and he was skipping like nobodies buisness and I was just a little frustrated cuz I couldn't do it. I wanted to try it but I was to scared I would take all my time pulling out a d**n backlash!! But thanks I will try my best the next time I go.. Next question.... Can I skip with any lure??
  9. I recently had the fuse blow on the wiring for my trolling motor. Unfornatley I could not get the fuse out of the wiring and I got ticked off and I cut the wire and hooked it up straight to the battery. I know it was impatient of me but dang it I wanted to fish!!!! I cannot seem to find ANY wiring that I can connect directly to the old wiring that has a fuse built into it... Does anyone have any suggestions??
  10. Couldn't resist..... HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA Don't you know the saying???..... If you can't duct it then F^&* it 8-)
  11. Boat looks great can't wait to see the finished project!!!
  12. I am not new to bas fishing nor am I new to a bait caster, however I still have a lot of difficulties with my casting. I fish with different reels however they are mainly abu garcia reels. I have tried and tried to skip my lures under trees/docks and over hangs but EVERYTIME I will end up backlashing my spool. If anyone can help me figure out how to skip the lure to help get to those hard to reach stops it would help me out alot. I have worked alot on my brake on the reel and using my thumb to slow down the spool upon impact but if I don't backlash then it stops as soon as it touches the water. I need help > > >
  13. Welcome to the best site on the net!!!!
  14. Fresh cut Oak branches will not float for at least 6 months... Branches are not as dense and more porous then a log and that helps them sink for now... However I'm with all the others on here I would definatley say tie it down. You don't want to start a little cover and then let it move on you! Good Luck To You!!! 8-)
  15. I fish a pond about 4 acres big and I have pulled fish out up to 10 lbs. If you are pulling out and abundance of small fish then maybe they are eating all the food not allowing the fish to get but so big... Thats just my view point on it. But you can catch huge fish out of pounds!!! Dont let the fact of it being smaller then other bodies of water fool you. YOu can pull out just as big if not bigger fish in a limited fished pond. Good Luck to You!!!
  16. Welcome to the Forums!!!! I wish my catch rate was increasing!!!! ;D
  17. Is that "pond" owned by just one person or by the govenment??
  18. HAHA!!!! ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D
  19. Dead sticking is just what it says. Allowing your bait to remain motionless with no action imparted by the rod (a dead stick). You do it by casting your bait to the target and letting settle (or die) on the top or bottom. It works because fish are lazy predators and will take advantage of a dead snack they don't have to chase down. If you have ever had a fish on after spending 5 minutes picking out a backlash you will know that it works. JMHO Ronnie HOLY CRAP.... I thought I was the only one this ever happened to!!! hahaha I have caught my biggest bass by having the WORST backlash!!!! Now that I know this works I will start dead sticking it more often!!!! ;D ;D
  20. HAHAHA Sounds like I used to be... (on the skunked part)... I still spend my pay check on fishing tackle. I have only been skunked once this year... Thank GOD!!!! But I started a new thing for me personally... I refuse to leave the body of water until I can at least catch 1!!!!
  21. My "go-to" lure always changes by the season... So far this year a finesse worm/ and senko have been my go to lures but in the winter its jig/ jerkbait. 8-)
  22. Yes I have called that number also! No one seems to care! They just put me on hold and I waited and finally I was told someone will call call me then they hung up. > It is very frustrating to me. Yea I have many other poles but I truely liked that one. Maybe one day I'll get my new ugly stik for free hahaha but I doubt it. 7yr warrantee my a** ;D > >
  23. You should be fine no matter what... Batteries get charged off of water.. I know they get charged off of Distilled water but its still water. I had an older boat that I let go to crap and it filled with water and submerged my batteries and once I came around to taking care of the boat again the batteries still worked fine. I don't have those batteries no more nor do I have the boat but the Batteries still lasted me about 2 years after the water incident. If you ever have any problems with corrosion on your batteries just take some good ole Coca-Cola and pour it on the connections... Coke has so much acid in it that it will actually clean your batteries extremely well. Hope this helped
