I go fishing and target mainly bass. I stand in my little spot and throw lures. I notice some of the other fisherman near me will look in my tackle box and try to jazz me when there one baited hook catches pan fish. They just don't accept or realize I'm after bass not pan fish. I have a few fisherman that do this. When I land a bass it's very quiet. I have learned to keep my tackle box closed now. I'm very polite and say nothing. Now I do grab my UL setup with live bait or panfish/crappie lures and have a good time catching them too. But I'm mainly after the greatest game fish in the world the small and large mouth bass. Do any of you guys or gals run into this problem?

I use snap ball bearing swivels on all my crankbait rod setups were I can. I believe it gives me a freer, more side to side wobble movement on my crankbaits. It's a smoother action. My other rod setups I use the standard snap swivels. Plus I have a hard time retying in the dark and low light. I even use snap swivels on my Carolina rigs on the hook end. I have most of my plastics pre hooked for a faster change over.

I like a h/m action. With lots of backbone with more hook setting power. Any rod length will do from shoreline fishing. I prefer mainly 6' to 6'6". Again I'm shore fishing. If your fishing from a boat follow the suggestions above. From shore I use a 1/8oz brass bullet weight in the open areas of the channels along side the weedlines. In fishing in 10' deep water if that. I find having a brass clicker a plus too. I use the Carolina keeper with a 24" leader. I use different presentations such as letting it fall till it hits the bottom them pause and repeat. I keep the line taunt to the rod tip feeling for the slightest nibble as it falls. I just let the senko or brushog do its natural thing as it falls. My next presentation is where I twitch the rod tip an inch to two inches using the clicker. My senkos are always wacky rigged. For you shore fisherman look for a spot where you can see your senko a To practice twitching it. Just a small amount of twitch will do. Don't over do it. I'm not perfect but this is what works for me.

When we cast out we never know what we're going to catch.

I always use a trailer because it bulks up the size of the bait. I prefer a mister twister 4" split double tail grub. The grubs tail is precut into sections that look lifelike and alive when it swims. It's my favorite trailer besides a chunk. Plus the mister twister grub is very productive. Don't forget the trailer hook and a shot of YUM Shad scent too. I'm fishing from shore and find the trick is to take a smaller 1/8oz to 1/4oz spinnerbaits and put the larger skirt on it. On the 1/8oz. Spinnerbaits I trim the mister twister 4" split double tail grubs body to fit the hook on the smaller spinnerbaits.

I just ordered some Excalibur silver thread trout 5# test. I wanted a medium 6' spinning setup I could use for trout and for light lures for bass. I'm just not sure what this "trout" line is? I ordered some Excalibur silver thread saltwater copolymer line too it was very affordable for lots of yardage. For the cheap price I'd figured I'd try it. On a live bait setup for the grandson. I also ordered some standard Excalibur silver thread copolymer line too. This line has never failed me. I ordered 4# test in a 1,000 yard spool for $7. Since some of the fisherman are using 4# test for bass I'd go with the best line I ever used and try it. Last year my doctor visit for p cancer is right near one of my hot spots. All I had was my 4'6" trout rod with 4# test with a mepps comet minnow with no scent all I had was tons of confidence and a nailed a 2 1/2#er on my UL TROUT rod. After not fishing all summer it felt so good like I broke the world record for a LMB. I love bass fishing. I didn't have one negative thought about the trout setup with the little comet. But when I got home I ordered a whole set of mepps comets. I did use the smaller comets in rivers for trout years ago. I been using any line that's on sale lately. Like yozuri and vicious copolymers. I started out bass fishing with Excalibur silver thread after they posted tests on there lines. It surpassed most lines back then in bending and abrasions. After losing so many bass to cheap line it was time to get a better quality line. But now fast forward a few decades we now have other brands of quality lines. I did learn that the quality of our line is the number 1 thing to have. A quality reel is the number 2 important thing to have. We could probably get by with any rod if we had too so I but the rod at number 3 on the most important thing. So any answers about the difference between trout line and bass fishing line? I thought fishing line was equal bass or trout. Times have changed and left me behind when I wasn't looking. Now what about the saltwater line too? Does it last longer in saltwater maybe more abrasion resistant? I do fear it could be stiffer. What ever happened to those days when I was a kid in the '60's when a $1 spool of Garcia river mist line covered it all. We didn't have so many choices. Sorry for the long post, bigbill

I have the 20, 200, 2000 sized reels but mainly been using the 2500, 3000, 4000 sized reels. I just threw the 200 sized reels a few times and liked it. I'm not sure what the difference is but it seemed to cast easier.

I was woken up to gobblers I had 24 Turkey's in my field. The other night my dog was barking in the house I had 9 does in the yard. There ready to fold now.

To me having a great fishing trip with a lot of success I go home feeling like I hit the lotto, well happy, happy anyway. What do you do when you get home after a great day of fishing. I just have to go online and purchase a lure I don't have, some line, or some plastics. I just feel compelled to do it. What do you do?

Trust me I'll be bass fishing if I have to crawl out of the car. I am so jones'n to test out my new LEWS RODS and the Supercast spinning reels. Plus my new bait ball lures.

I go from topwater to cranks to inline spinners at first light. I will work a 3/8oz football jig up and across a rocky point. As the sun gets higher I throw a 1/8oz Carolina rig with a senko or brushog as it gets lighter. I have one hole I can jig a countdown jointed rapala in blue/yellow. I don't know why there's a bass I can count on in this hole every time. I twitch the rapala like jigging with it.

I thread the mister twister 4" split double tail grub trailer straight down the hook on the middle of the plastics. I do this on everything.

I figured maybe a special back support and I'd be ok. I'm not missing another bass season. Last year it was prostate cancer now this. Where's my golden years? I'm 63yo and figured I'd fish the rest of my life being retired. I'm hoping maybe therapy can take the pain away. I'm not done fishing yet. The specialist said my pain won't get worse. It won't kill me. I have everything that can go wrong all at once. Lucky me. Me and topwaterspook (stitch) are fighters and I will beat this too just like prostate cancer. Side by side remington 12ga 1100's that are belt fed what a door opener. It's my dream gun. A real conversation piece a real eye opener we might say.

I wacky rig it on a Carolina rig. When it breaks I fish with the half piece or save the half senko for later. Once the salt wears off the senko a shot of bass scent will help too. I never change a senko unless it breaks. Now I do change brands of senko type plastics due to certain colors.

My doctor visit wasn't great today. I have spinal stenosis I think it's called. I have all this plus arthritis it's all at the worst degree for pain. It's the part of my spine that has a canal were the nerves go through is closing up on the nerves. It's like a 12" long pipe they need to cut open to relieve the pressure. They want to try an injection first and PT PLUS maybe pool pt. I need to lose 30# if that doesn't work than an operation is next.

I suggested to fish clear water with natural colored lures fished faster so the fish can't get a good look at it to see its not real. This has been said many times but I like to refresh as the season starts up

Our solders are out gunned distance wise with our m16's. The bad guys stay just out of range of the m16. We don't need a Swedish 84mm shoulder cannon that's not the answer. They need there m14's in 308 back. The m14 is very accurate out to 1,000++ yards scoped. They been handing out the m14 & ordered new 1911 Colts.

I tackle box shelf storage rack. With rod setups on both ends. If you put the shelf type rack on casters you can have rod holder's across the back too. A ceiling rod storage rack works too. Storing tackle boxes and rods is a problem I have. Plus my present lures I'm using has a backup supply and my backup supply has backup too. When I'm using a lure that's hot and it goes on sale I buy more.
