  1. LBH, I guess considering the fishing I'vedone and the fish you have listed, it's apples to oranges. Pretty sure I need to get to the coast someday and fight'em for my self to get a real sense.
  2. RW, I just found this thread from '06 that you started. I've used search, but unfortunately I missed this one. Short of holding my hand this is exactly the type of tutorial I've been looking for. Thanks a million, even if I am a little late. Can't wait for the weekend to give it a whirl!
  3. Good to hear! Now take all the advice and encouragement, and practice. I bet in no time it'll be like you were born with one in your hands.
  4. Man that sounds wicked. Not to lessen the weather impact on other parts of the country, but for what we normally get, the midwest has had some harsh spring and summer weather this year.
  5. That things huge! How do stripers fight compared to other fish. Sluggish, fast, zigzag?
  6. Brian, I am really sorry about the MOJO bracelet. I could tell from your posts that you were very excited about it's journey. I hope that Alpster's memorial bracelet retains the original meaning for you. And then some. Alpster, I think it's swell that you found a way to keep the MOJO alive and in everyones hearts. ff15
  7. Great Bios! One question for Glenn. From photos I've seen of you, I always pictured you as average size. I've always pictured Ryan Newman as short and stocky. Is he really that big?
  8. B_R, you mean you don't shave with it?
  9. Look at the Columbia River knives. There's gotta be something there you'll like.
  10. Thanks Muddy. I guess I'm new since your break, but good to meet you. ff15
  11. I kow this goes back a ways for you guys, but can some one tell me what a Mook is?
  12. You sleep with them? Now that's die hard. BTW, Happy B-day.
  13. It's not the computers fault. Get rid of Vista and have XP installed. I don't kow all the technicalities of it, but Vista is quirky. I know a lot of people that are not happy with it and went back to XP. jmo.
  14. Too bad rondef. I know it's enough to make your heart sink. I guess it's the perils of looking for that big one. Keep the heat on and go back and get em!
  15. Sure seems to be a perch, only about 5-6 times as big as any I've ever caught! Wow.
  16. Yeah, I remember you mentioning that awhile back. A friend of mine did that recently with a northern thrashing around, got hooked in the finger with "fish on". Thanks for your insight guys. Been fishin em myself for a few years, but rarely get the chance for the ideas of others!
  17. basser89, when you get back, I guess I'd like your take. I switched to mono years ago and have had no problems, but do you think that by using mono and maybe playing the fish longer that it decreases it's chance of survival?
  18. That is a sweet lookin' fish. Basser 89, not to hiijack, but a question for muskey slayer. There was a thread awhile back about a fella taking his father up north "one last time". In the posts braided and mono line was tosse around. I recently read an article on that debate. One of the pros to using braid was that the musky didn't get played so long, increasing it's chance of survival upon release. What's your take?
  19. I'd be curious to know what # test line that guy was using and if the fella in trouble was thrashing or dead weight. The guy with the coffee was his one and only chance, what are the odds......
  20. MskSlyr, that's a nice one in your avatar. 45-47"? Nice girth on it to!
  21. frogtog, I had a not so good day. Thanks to you and everyone else I can atleast have one good belly laugh. ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D
  22. Chaddy, you sound like your catching a cold. ;D Hopefully the guy makes it. They'll both have a heck of a story to tell for along time coming.
  23. Chanrocks93, we pm'd afew days ago. I'm glad you gor your rod/reel taken care of. By all means, heed what ReelMechanic is saying, step back, take a deep breath and go slow. Definately take your spinning gear on your trip. And if you do take your brand new baitcast set up, don't forget EXTRA line. Anyway you do it, good luck with fishing. Make sure you let us know how you did. ff15 I've got a tiger by the tail-Buck Owens
  24. LBH, what's the weight on that thing and what size rod are you using? ff15
