Meanwhile, in Germany...
I don't think Otis is in any danger of being run out of business, but that was pretty cool. The announcer had rocks in his head for standing underneath the "experiment", but each to their own. I also got a little nervous when the operator got to the top and started extending himself outward and upward. Cool vid 8-)

Neighbors
I have lived on the same intersection out in the country my whole life with the same neighbors in tow. Same here Bill, A squabble once in a blue moon but nothing that ever kept us from being friends and neighbors. As kids, all the adults in the area let us know when we needed to straighten up, give us the thumbs up when we had it coming....one big extended family Through the years there has always been the helping hand, advice, looking out for the neighbors property, mutual interests and more. Every once in a while comes the practical joke that leaves you cynical of all the neighbors that smile at you. Earlier this year I came home after a pretty decent snow fall to a 7' bank that was plowed right in front of my overhead garage door with my plow truck inside! After a lot of ribbing and laughing the next door guy came over and plowed it out but no one ever admitted to the crime. ;D ;D

What kind of bullets for this gun?
Not a whole lot of background on it, but my guess would be maybe a .32 or .38 caliber. I would take it to a smith for a variety of reasons; caliber ID, inspection, and personal instruction as to whether or not it is in condition to be fired. Smokeless powder was around prior to the beginning of 1900 and my guess is this gun is meant for smokeless. See a gunsmith.

Best fisherman on this site....?
Best fisherman? I wouldn't even want to make that call. I have met, spoke, or pm'd with several members hear and the pool is just to great considering all the variables included. Take Kelley for instance, He doesn't post up wall hangers week after week, but spend a day in a boat with him and you'll have vivid memories for life. He's a great fisherman in my book. Now you take Paul, Steve, John or Bizz and the many others with the different species and lunkers they post along with the back stories they give and you have yet more great fisherman from the pool. Then there are the fishwomen like Deb and Keri; no slouches there either! I've seen a few of the fish Keri has posted and Deb's hard work in the sport doesn't go un-noticed either. Love, passion, luck, experience, knowledge.....all different reasons for being the best fisherman. Yup, too many around here, including the "unsung" fishermen to choose one person from. 8-)

Whats the best combo you buy for $200-$250 or under?
If it were to be an "as is" combo, I'll cruise Gander Mountain. Once in a while they put together some pretty decent ones using their store brand rods and either ambassadeur or Shimano reels. I'm not sure who manufactures the rods for them, but the store's medium to upper end rods are actually pretty good.

They call it "sagging"
I love the ever so often story of "saggy pants" running from the cops only to be caught cause his pants are around his ankles and he can't run anymore. ;D Great pics!

Thoughts and Prayers
My condolences Aaron, my pa was my fishing buddy if I wasn't fishing alone. The hurt and pain eases over time but the memories just don't fade as easy. In time to come your gonna have new experiences, triumphs, and maybe even some set backs, but each time you have these life events you may find yourself talking with grandpa Kidd or Edwards, finding reassurance with your fond memories of each...sometimes even bringing a little smile to your face. Once in awhile you even overcome a challenge only to realize that "Hey, this is what grandpa would have done"! That there is a comfort like no other. Lund Explorer has given you a good bit of advice with grandma also, there are still plenty of great grandpa memories to be shared. Good luck and many prayers for you and your family.

Its alright...
I would say just by your response and the way you handled it, that your pretty good at what you do. In our service area fire/ems volunteers are allowed to use lights and sirens when responding and we have had a couple of real humdingers through the years. Generally the volunteers are responsible enough but local law enforcement has had to hose a couple of 'em. The kid's excuse is definitely one of the richest; are you sure you waited until he left before you started to laugh? ;D That said, years ago as a senior, I was doing the same thing in a large parking lot and about my fifth or sixth time around I noticed a set of headlights on me, oops. As I sat there he just pulled up beside me, give me the "are you stupid" look and asked if I was done yet. After the butt chewing he said I needed to go home; I did.
