Cow Runoff
WW2farmer- I'm not sure as to whom you are referring but I grew up in the ag/dairy industry. Speaking strictly of my instance, when I use the term excessive I talk about specific farms who deluge fields with 2, 3, and 4 times the amount of liquid cow manure than that particular field can handle. Incorporating the manure into the soil only works if the farm does it to begin with and that is hard to do in the dead of winter. One of my local farms was sued in civil court and fined $30,000.00 after an environmentally sound farmer sent his run off down my neighbor's back yard, through her driveway, and fill the top half of her pond. To get a bit off topic, some of these free stall farms have the herd to produce 10's of thousands of pounds of milks per week or even in a day. On occasion the problem is that they have no reasonable venue to get rid of all the waste; they run out of holding space and places to go. Obviously we are not speaking of the "mom and pop" farms who run the honey wagon out once or twice a day but the large farms who have eaten up the local farms and still haven't the room to sustain their herd size. I see it first hand 2 miles up the road as well as other places within 15 minutes of me. Including my own, I see terms such as excessive, severe, and high concentration when comments were posed on this topic and there is nothing ignorant about that. I agree completely with your last comments and that most of the farming community is conscience of their fertilizing activity and these fine folks are not who I take issue with. "All it takes is one bad apple" is the old saying and it holds true. If you were referring to any of my comments or posts, I hope this clarifies my point of view. 8-)

Cow Runoff
Runoff in my area is the 1000's of gallons of liquid manure farmers pump onto the fields adjacent to waterways without respect to how much the soil can actually absorb and sustain. It's worse in the winter months when they are spreading on frozen tundra and there is no seeping, just one straight shot to the local water sources.

The end all thread
Well said. There is a local kid here (25yr old?) that fishes a $20 combo with a 1/8th oz jig and 2" Mister Twister, when he says he's going bass fishing he catches bass, when he says he's going walleye fishing he catches walleye, when he says he's going panfishing he catches panfish. His only change up is when he's musky fishing. It's not his arsenal, it's his understanding of the fish, presentation, and the water he's fishing. It impresses the hell out of me every time. 8-)

new forum
How many pm's per day do you already have to address and how many more will there be? Even if you're not going to be the referee you're still going to have to go through the extra pm's and sort them out. No matter how you set it up, someone who thinks their complaint is a paramount one will find a way to contact the mods with it. On the other hand, with a separate section you could also move the heated threads that are worthy of running there course in there without them affecting the rest of the BR forums. You are still moving or locking the threads you need to while relocating the less cordial ones into a section where the rest of the users and guests don't need to deal with them. :-/

Favorite T.V. show quote
That was the funniest one that "heathen" ever pulled off on Aunt Esther. ;D ;D I don't know, the time Esther came in the door, and Fred yelled "I thought I flushed my toilet this morning!?" was pretty good. ;D ;D ;D I must have missed that one!

Cow Runoff
X2 My local reservoir, which is small in comparison to most, suffered a huge loss last year due to low water levels and higher than normal nitrates from excessive run off

Anyone ever watched the German movie "Downfall"?
I watch it about once every 2 or 3 months, my favorite war history is WWII. I've always wondered how true to fact this movie is. My only problem arises when I want to rest my eyes everything becomes Greek. 8-)

can anyone
I'm not sure if its the possibly the same situation or not but a couple of weeks ago I received a phone call I wasn't happy with. The caller ID said it came from one employee when it was actually sent from another employee. I found this out after putting my Magnum PI skills to work. As it was, the phone call was made with the help of a web site that tagged the unsuspecting employee's phone number to the actual phone call. It wasn't very funny. >

Spinnerbait Blade Combination...???
Personally I only fish with single #5 cupped Colorado blade spinners and most of the time will fish natural color. My modus operandi is to fish a normal cast and retrieve method. I have never had any luck with tandem spinners but I think there are many on here who swear by a different spinner for different retrieves. In all, I only keep about 6 or 7 different spinners and usually find that I still need the one I don't have. 8-) Different strokes for different folks, but I think most that throw tandems will opt for nickel double willow hammered or smooth.

Insanely addicting smoked cheese!
As a kid my dad ran a cheese factory for many years, there was nothing better than when he made a batch of string cheese except for when he made it and then smoked it. Man, those were the days, real cheese and real smoke jobs, not liquid smoke. Smoked cheddar? I guess it's time to give it a try.
