IM8 vs glx?
Thank You Dink..I agree, the 2 rods do not belong in the same class.

IM8 vs glx?
yup l agree, what makes me pee my pants with laughter is theres a guy in here tryin to, and I quote one of his famous sayings "compare apples to oranges" it just dont work. The GLX is in a class of its own, Ive never put the Rainshadow RX8+ and the GLX in the same category, but it will hold its own in its price range. Personal preference. The RX8 they sell for under $200 is a very nice rod, but there are alot of rods in that range. I just happen to like the GBlanks rods, while others like Steez n GLX's for nearly double the money.

Best Rod for under $200
I'll go out on a limb and say there's NO best rod under $200, but more personal preference. RW's recommendation of a MXF rod will be a great choice, as well as MHXF, I prefer spinning gear. Your going to receive alot of choices, mine is a GBlanks Custom Rod, made the way you want it for under $200. http://www.imaginationbassin.com/gblanks.htm

Need help choosing a rod for a Revo S
here's a very nice rod for the money, an look in the store they offer a few more. I own 3 of their custom rods. I also own Loomis and St Croix rods as well but the GBlanks compare in every way. http://cgi.ebay.com/CUSTOM-GBLANKS-6-9-MH-SPLIT-EVA-HANDLE-CAST-ROD_W0QQitemZ220463638900QQcmdZViewItemQQptZLH_DefaultDomain_0?hash=item3354a82974&_trksid=p3286.c0.m14#ht_1133wt_1165

Cheaper UL reel..
Im not an avid UL guy but had the pleasure to fish with this little guy, the Pfluger President Micro, the grip felt good, and it was plenty the reel to actualy handle a few LMB in the 2 n 3lb range. Its in your range. http://www.basspro.com/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/Product_10151_-1_10001_97000_100001002_100000000_100001000_100-1-2

Best Spinnerbait Rod/Reel Set-Up?
I loved GLoomis's SBR812 paired with a Curado 200DHSV, it was sweet, needed money, needed to sell. I regret the day.

Revo STX or Revo Premier.
looking forward to sitting the STX on the reel seat and getting busy with it. Thanks Dink...Peace.

Revo STX or Revo Premier.
Hey Dink, thanks for the reply, you'll have to dig up that thread of me stating I ever used a Revo, never owned one....and as far as a Curado E, never even had the pleasure to handle one of those either. I do own a Curado, but not the E, its the 200 series from last year, actually had 3 but sold them off.... Just looking to try something different, and found the STX at a great price. http://www.simmonssportinggoods.net/servlet/the-9551/ABU-GARCIA-AMBASSADEUR-STX-dsh-HS/Detail

Revo STX or Revo Premier.
Hey Dink, Im not trying to start any crap dude. I used the search engine like we're supposed to and came across this post you made 4 months ago. Can you please elaborate as to why you chose the STX over the other Revos. I'm definitely going Revo but not sure which just yet. Thanks. Peace

Oh Man!
Is the Skeet worth the money? found 1 under $200
-
Oh Man!
the premiers are nice but Im looking to try the STX,
-
Oh Man!
I think this is an inventory blow out so they may not get anymore STX's in at that price....I want to try something other then a Curado and have read nothing but good things about th Revo's. I want a good Revo for jigs around the $200 range...
-
Oh Man!
point me in the right direction, I have yet to find them that cheap
-
Oh Man!
Thats all well and good over at BPS but their STX is $199, while TW is $139, plus a $20 rebate.
-
Oh Man!
not necessarily a flipping/pitching rod but will pretty much be exclusively a jig rod. It may be used for other applications as well but I have a G Loomis to serve as second seat. Im pounding TW's door because of the sale, hard to beat that price for the STX.
-
Oh Man!
Just received an email from TW, the STX HS I ordered is no londer available, not sure if I should go with the standard for jigs. Im sure it'll be ok. You're thoughts. Thanks

Revo STX or Revo Premier.
CWB asked for Shimano not to be mentioned so thanks for the opening. Seriously no way if your talking about the Curado 200 that you have. Less drag of course versus the STX but that reel is sweet. Sorry Ken. I knew you were laying in the weeds waiting for an opening to pounce. No worries. Everyone is entitled to their opinion, however misguided. ;D Sorry Uncle Leo & CWB, although theres never a mention of the curado being better, it clearly states "I may" sorry again guys.
