27 lb thrust and Jon Boat
I agree, save up a little more cash if you can and get bigger. I have a 55lb on my 10ftr and wish it was more sometimes.

surprised & dissappointed
I did research the reel in question as well as the Sol, I agree, but what really hit me was the handle, I was able to put a few hours on it yesterday and it did feel great, maybe Im looking for to much of a difference in the 2. Thanks flechero, your observations make more sense then just another giant 2500 sized heavy reel. You know of a handle that may fit the Fuego?

surprised & dissappointed
I purchased a new (red) Fuego 2500. When I got the reel I was shocked to see that it was actually smaller then my Tierra 2500, the handle seemed cheesier, and for some reason a reel of supposedly higher quality wasn't quite what I expected. Although its very smooth, light and comfortable to fish all day I was somewhat surprised! Just my 2cents.

Canoe/ trolling motor
good luck with your new ride, and yea, no problems you can do a nice motor on that. buy what you can afford for the larger size motor, extend the power cables and put the batt up front so you dont dump all the extra weight in the back. This will keep the bow down a little more and make it easier to control on windier days and cut nicely. As far as a fish finder, you betchya. take a look at this. http://store.humminbird.com/ccombo-ccomboBuddy.html

UL Setup?
Yeah, I too beg to differ with that statement. Im not saying your going to winch a 6lber outta the deep deep junk, but large fish are possibly on UL's. There was a puddle out back of our last house in town, I would run down and dig out a couple 2 n 3 lbrs once and awhile. What a blast a 3lb bass is on UL's. It was a soft bottom weedless lil hole with alot of over hanging brush, and the occasional X-Mas tree I'd toss in. Lotta fun UL's can be with the right conditions. Pflueger President Micro Ultralight Spinning Reel, thats a nice little reel, a friend has one on a St Croix Premier UL. its a nice smooth set up.

Whats Gone Wrong?
there's more then 1, I'm not trying to start a war here, I've met great guys on here and have had the pleasure to fish with 2 of them and hopefully more RI'ers to come But lets take this guy, http://www.bassresource.com/bass_fishing_forums/YaBB.pl?num=1245877785 OK, so he came off a lil cocky and arrogant, but maybe he too couldn't word things properly, so 99% of those posts were tearing him a new one and forcing him to bail. I think if you couldn't help him with constructive criticism then why hurt him. This one stuck in my head, some people don't know how to play well with others, and apparently he took this very offensive. In any event, this isn't the first and I'm sure it wont be the last...bean busting IS what guys do, yeah, boys will be boys...but some take things to far and get carried away, and easily hurt others. For me? Bust away I could care less.

How many setups do you have ready 2 roll on your boat at one time?
I carry about 3 to 4...but thats all going to change pretty soon. I'll only have the need for 1 on certin trips

Do You Think Catching a Big Bass is Luck?
I'd class it completely the opposite. Luck (odds) catches bass, skill catches bigguns I agree with LBH on this 100%. I had the pleasure to fish with him a short time ago, same boat, same conditions. And he SLAMMED the Big Bass, and not just one. While I caught fish, they were nowhere near the size.

Whats Gone Wrong?
what has become of this site lately? it seems that people are now quick to jump, jab and poke at others, no matter what it may be. Im sure the poor economy has alot of us down, but dam, these are are fellow BR members, friends and families. Lets get it back to where we once where, lending advice, bragging rights, sharing our stories and photos.

New From Rhode Island
well I cant argue the fact that the bunk gets swamp'd. Madfish and I have fished it with sucess, we've had good days all small, other days with only a few in the boat. But I will go hats off to "The Bunk" for one good reason. The Kids. My avatar is my 7yr old daughter whom last year singlely landed 7 bass that day all around that size. Other than that.

Berkley Lightning Rod?????
I'd say cut a couple lawns, push a few carriages if you have to, but save up till you have enough cash to buy somthing decent and the e21's are, as well as the Powells, St Croix, Shimano that fits your extended budget. Definitaly keep on eye on our flea market, I have bought and sold with great sucess in here. Good Luck. Take a look in here, great rods at an affordable price. http://shop.ebay.com/merchant/lgmitch58?_nkw=GBlanks&_sacat=0&_trksid=p3911.m270.l1313&_odkw=&_osacat=0

Can someone school me on Bass Boats?
I've been beating the boat the thing for some time now. Im on my second season with my 10ft JB, and its ok for me and my daughter, but toss 2 guys in there its a lil cramped n tippy. Ive had the the pleasure to fish with a fellow BR member quite a few times on his Tracker PT17 and its great. Im hoping to grab something used next year, I fish alone alot but a bigger boat will allow me to bring a partner, and most of all my family. My daughter loves to go with me, but gets a little restless in the 10ftr, I think she'll be better off if she can move a little more. I think the tin boats are great. But I will say you gotta see this for the money. http://www.stratosboats.com/modelIntro.cfm?mid=5561
