  5. $$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$ does not equal success. No....but you got to start somewhere!! Although it may very well do so this year
  6. as a weekend warrior my opinions are help in little regard here, but, I've been fishing for a very long time and Shimano was my spinning reel of choice until I came in here. I tried the Pflueger Supreme and havnt looked back since. I've only owned it for 1 season so I cant make claims on its longevity, durability, but I can say for what I paid, dollar for dollar....... I'm REEL happy.
  7. becareful before you pull the trigger. I actually bought 3 rods from them over the summer, about 2 days after my purchase I received an email stating that didnt have 2 of the 3 in stock, they gave me a full refund but it was a drawn out process, goto simmons sporting goods and tell them about ohya's sale and they'll match it, and most likely they'll have them in stock. if not, they will tell you.
  8. Go Yanks, sorry there's one in every crowd,
  9. bb01, you can try the bucket trick and see for sure. 5 gal bucket, a soup can, string, peanut butter. remove the bucket handle, put a small hole in the bottom of the can, just enuff for the string to pull through (or remove the bottom all 2gather) tie the string off to the bucket handle holes, leaving the can free to spin. add about 1/3rd water in the bucket and put a coat of peanut butter around the can, mice love it and when they hop on the can, well the rest is history.
  10. not a real scarey game at all but has any1 in here tried Crysis?
  11. lmao, funny my 7 yr old kix my ... in boxing, the family got 1 this year for x-mas too. I have the sega bass fishing and also got TigerWoods 09. The family(3 of us) spend alotta time on Wii Sports.
  12. You'll love it, I have the 802 & 803 in MossyBack, although not the flagship GLX or an IMX these rods are sweet...a very large step up from my old BPS rods.
  13. flechero, by all means Im no expert in this style, but I've been beating the swimbait rod thing to death the last few weeks. And everywhere I turn it's the Okuma for an entry level rod into the swimbait world, and TackleTour loved it. I know your buddy is having a hard time choking up $100 bux or better for it, I think alot of us are feeling that. I know the new St Croix MoJo SwimBait rod can be had for $90 shipped, another alternative. If he can wait a little and save up, he may enjoy it more...
  14. I sav em, do like most others, toss em into a box then up in the attic they go, it's funny I just threw away a couple boxes I had'nt had the reels for in years.
  15. I'd like to wish everyone here at BR at Happy & Safe New Year. Peace and God Bless to all.
  16. I bought a Shimano Cardiff 300A and getting reay to pull the trigger on an Okuma swim bait rod, not sure which one yet tho. My entrance into swim baits.
  17. it's funny I was thinking this also, I'm cleaning up an area in the boiler room so I can get them out of the cold shed in New England winters, Thanx Wishin4Fishin for brining this up.
  18. Tramadol is an Opioid, but Im sure I didnt have to tell you all that, side affects can cause vommiting, seize all Trams for a few days and see what happens. I had taken these for a short time when I was trying to come clean from other PK's, they made me a little wheezy n pukey too...try it, it can only help. Good Luck Tin!
  19. funny you mentioned that, Ericksons built this rod and every one of my salt waters as well. At 1 time I had over 12 custom surf rods from them, I still have 3, but sold and traded off the salts. Ray Boucher was building them then, his wife (at the time) Lisa did some of the best work around. Thanks BH, I'll give them a shout.
  20. I know it's hardwater but I thought some would like to see some custom Mahogany Ice Fishing Traps. They were cut, hand sanded and a 2 part expoxy was applied in several thin coats, lightly sanding each coat. The name and fish decal were applied to the bare wood, they were rub on's, the letters came from a local craft store and the decals from Janns Netcraft. All the hardware is SS and came from a guy in Maine who makes some of the best traps available. Jack Traps. Upon completion of 5 of these I have yet to see enough hardwater to line them and get them into fish.
  21. several years ago the I had 10ft BassHound, I put a 5hp Yammy on it and it pushed that boat over the water pretty good, I'd bet a 5 or 7 will be just fine, I always look at as "Im not towing a skier"
  22. It seems like this is the starting point for most swimbaiters. It was my first combo, then I upgraded to a Loomis + Calcutta : . I know a few of my buddies started on this combo as well. You won't be dissapointed. It's the beginning of the end for you my friend ;D . Well great for those fine words and hammering the bait monkey into my head a little deeper, I just spent the last 30mins or so searching out Loomis Swim Bait rods. ;D
  23. I have a small rod I had made in "91", looking for a rod builder who could rewrap it for me using all my exsisting guides. the seat and cork are in great shape, just like to clean it up and change the colors.
