  1. solid here as surprising as it may sound, seeing Stanley Bostitch has closed 2 major facilities, 1 in RI (Quonsett) and the Clinton, CT plant. Plus 2000 jobs lost throught out the USA last week, including the wife whom which worked for the Bostitch plant in EG, RI for 15 yrs, she was lucky to get a package and will be going back to school. And go figure, I make nails and I have overtime, but I did take the next 2 weeks off...I hope things get better for everyone and we're all fortunate enough to enjoy the holidays.
  2. Tell him to invest in some sound dampening for the trunk (Dynamat, brownbread, B-Quiet,etc),...no one wants to hear that pounding rattle. Don't forget to do the back of the plate especially. You would be surprised what a single 12 with the right install is capable of, let alone 2. They can break glass, plastic, make you puke, etc. Doesn't mean it sounds good though. My specialty is "sound quality" an actual class in competition. If you're looking to build Db's, I know the basics but I'm not your guy. If you want it to sound like you're there,...that's me I lol'd at puke, it must be my age but theres a young guy at work that has some big money tied into the system in his Ford Ranger, and when he drives by me in the lot, I can feel the bass through out my entire body, and yes it makes me feel like Im going to puke. Im at the age now where I like my music crystal clear, crisp, and clean. www.aperionaudio.com
  3. I remember skid hopping well, we rode the back bumper of the school bus all the way home in the blizzard of 78, we were spinning up a hill and the driver yelled all you guys out and start pushing. Imagine what kinda trouble you'd get into now if you said that to the kids on your bus. And the tractor trailers were great too with thier ICC bumpers. ;D
  4. I scored 50lb moss green for my BC's and think Santa will be adding a couple spools of 15 & 20 for my spinning gear. My question is colors, whats good for what, your thoughts Please. Thanks
  5. guys thanks for all the help...I wont be pulling the trigger on a new ride til the wearhter warms, but Fishing Rhino I may seek your expertise on that rod rack....
  6. grrr...I never read it or I would've been in, to late I supose? Im ready if theres more room,
  7. hope all is well...maybe next season, Im looking to get out with some local Rhode Islanders.
  8. Thnx RW, I wasnt really to commited on the whole new rod n reel thing because Im just a weekender at best, but I do happen to have a heavy rod I can throw some big baits with, Im sure its not perfect but it may work. You think my G-Loomis MossyBack BCR803 will be up to the task for the lure you mentioned. thnx AC500
  9. flip through here, you may find something you like, at these prices Im tempted to pull the trigger on a new spinning rod but Santa is just around the corner and my 7yr old eagerly awaits. So no new gear for me till he's come and gone. http://stores.ebay.com/SIMMONS-SPORTING-GOODS_KISTLER-RODS_W0QQcolZ4QQdirZ1QQfsubZ6890067QQftidZ2QQtZkm
  10. I'd like to try a couple swimbaits this year, any recommendations or your favorites. thnx.
  11. I just checked em out...the Chart Green Pumpkin looks very nice, and the Silver also...I need to stop comming in here...I wana spend money.
  12. Tin, you still going out? Im looking to get out for a couple hour while my daughters in school...any RI takers?
  13. That's the scariest stuff around in my book. Right up there with heroin and such. You want to talk about addictive, nothing like prescription pain killers. Agreed, I suffered an Opiate Addiction due to prescription painkillers roughly 10 years ago due to a severe lower back injury, in turned knocked me out of my passion for the game of golf, I played that game for over 30 years. Pain killers are no joke and I can attest to that. I went through knee surgury this summer past and suffered severly through the pain, and took nothing because I was afraid of what may have become of me again. I joke of it often, only because its behind me. A few beers now and then but other then that Im done. I've been clean for almost 8 now, pretty much since my daughters birth, and if I want to get high I take her fishing! It doesnt get any better then this.
  14. heres the one I bought her, if she shows as much interest this summer as the last, then I'll invest in a nice set-up for her. http://www.walmart.com/catalog/product.do?product_id=10298905
  15. I posted something similar a few weeks back, I was looking into the Fisher Girl set-ups but ended up with the Shakespeare Ladyfish Deluxe Spincasting Combo, it was about $20 bux at my local Wally World, she's been using my gear all year but decided to ask Santa for her own. I think this will work just fine, heres a link. http://www.shakespeare-fishing.com/index_uglylady.html
  16. normally I dont tie knot to knot, so if I do a uni do I make 1 first then tie the other into it n pull em tight? Thanks for all the suggestions...
  17. before you buy the Bose look into V-Moda Vibes, I own a set, I work in an extremely loud enviorment and these little powerhouses slip right into your ears and block the outside world. http://www.v-moda.com/collection/modaphones/vibe.aspx Also to consider is Sennheiser USA, another guy in my department owns them http://www.sennheiserusa.com/newsite/productdetail.asp?transid=500939 Im sure you'll be happy
  18. It should work just fine. Square stern, ready for trolling or small outboard motor. I notice it has a bit of a keel, which is also good. It will greatly reduce sideways drift in a breeze, and also help it track better when under power. I'm guessing, but it looks like you could stand in it to fish. I'd suggest doing it in shallow water until you get your sealegs under you, just in case. Looks versatile. I'd say it will work just fine as long as you stay within its limitations. It'll give you many, many hours of pleasure. If I do go for it it'll be in the spring....Im just trying to aviod the whole trailer thing and find something a little longer...I've fished in canoes for years, but you're right, I'd need to get my seallegs back..lol
  19. I got 50lb....can I use this stuff for spinning gear as well as my casters?
  20. can you be a little more specific....ty
  21. Im sure its been covered but my search tatics arnt very good. I just picked up some power-pro braid and I planned on using the Trilene for a backing on my Curado's. What would be the best knot to use to join them and is the KVD line conditioner a must on the power pro or dont use it at all? thnk
  22. I have to admit those are some sweet fishing machines outside the normal JB's n all. Here's a picture of the boat/canoe/kayak whatever you'all wana call it, they label it as a Kay-Noe. Lotta room and looks pretty good
  23. thats a great job on that canoe, did you build the rod racks? I use to fish a Great Canadian for years and never a bit of trouble, I'd stand and practically walk about it, not the stability of a JB for sure but alone I never had a problem, and when fished with a friend no trouble then either. I like the thought of this thing, seems easy to handle and looks pretty sturdy, I just wish I could find someone out there with 1, take a look at the you tube vide, just imagine it 15ft and wider with a flat back for a motor. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4XNKCqX24aM
  24. I stopped by the local DSG and found an Old Town/Field & Stream Kay-Noe, this thing was 15ft long and wide as hell, anybody seen, owned or even fished in one? Looking for opinions on it. TY
