  1. the rod has some serious backbone, I've pulled some big bass outta some tight places with it and never a problem, docks, thick weeds, out from under some heavy lilly pads, I used it for alot of different applications too, and it handled them all well. Im no pro but I like the rod.
  2. I actually have a custom made Lamiglas 5'4" spinning rod with somewhat of a MH action, I had the rod made back in 1991 so I cant remember the specs. The rod is amazing, my daughter uses it now for live shinners, I almost sold it this year but after fishing with it a few times I remembered exactly why I had it made. I've caught several 5lb+ with it. G.Loomis has a couple under 6ft in thier spinning series but nothing ina MH. I like the MH for this style, this was why I had it made, for the dock skipping purpose alone.
  3. No...Simmons Sporting Goods (they have an ebay store). They are good people and made me a 'deal' on the 5, plus gave me free shipping 8-). Simmons just got 12 Limited Edition Zillions in as well, and it took a huge deal of restraint not to order two of those. I still may...haven't decided. I agree...If you guys havnt delt with Simmons then you all need to give em a look, thats where I bought my Loomis rods, I bought nearly $600 worth of rods for $475 free ship. He'll match or beat anybodies deal. Ask for Peter. Great looking gear there Bro
  4. Thanks....Raul, where do the MossyBacks come into play compared with the GL3'S?
  5. Alotta you guys know I bought 3 new Loomy's, 2 MB's an a spinnerbait rod, I love em all. Im looking at a new spinning rod, gearing towards 6ft or under, I like the quality of the rods I have even tho they're not Loomis's best GLX. How much will the weekender feel over the IMX and GL3 series? Thanks Guys
  6. I have the SBR812C, now Im not a pro or as avid as many here, more like a weekend warrior. I love the upgrade I made to Loomis rods now owning 3 and the spinnerbait rod for me was a world of difference, I now feel every lil tic, nip n tap with this rod and beleive I've landed more bass because of it, I like the xtra fast tip and for the bass I'm normally hooking she has plenty of holding power and enuff backbone to bring them in. Im Pleased.
  7. I know that rush all to well, my daughter n I did it just last week. No feeling in the world like it, now I know why my Dad was the man he was. It's all about our family, and thats what Dad was about. Enjoy it, its time well spent. My daughter helped me load up our little boat Wed after only catching a few small bass. On the ride home, out of the clear blue she said "well Daddy we didnt catch alot of fish, but it's all about Daddy Daughter time isnt it, and she's only 6. Take a look at lasts weeks trip. http://www.bassresource.com/bass_fishing_forums/YaBB.pl?num=1217268600 God Bless
  8. I wont disput your claim but I spooled a reel this spring with some XT 12lb, I had for a few years and it gave me nothing but trouble. All I use is XT & XL Triline and I love. You guys use KVD on the Triline XT's n XL's 8-)
  9. Thank You all for the kinds words, my daughter was amused by all the smilies. Thanks Agains AC500 n Anita
  10. we hit a local pond in Coventry RI, and she outfished dad 7 to 1 Needless to say by the smile she had a blast, we'll be at it again this week, this poor guy bass has been hooked more then once but survived the ordeal just fine
  11. http://www.basspro.com/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/Product_10151_-1_10001_90575_100003001_100000000_100003000_100-3-1 these are right in your buget and for the money...a good buy.IMO
  12. I fished BPS rod for over 10yrs, I found this site and it opened up new windows for me, I started reading and looking into rods I thought I'd never buy because of price...well now Im the proud owner of 3 new G.Loomis rods, 2 Mossy's and a Spinnerbait rod. I liked my BPS's, but after fishing my Loomy's, I'll never look back.
  13. Loomy Virgin here till this year, out again Wednesday for a couple more hours and Im more amazed..I cant afford the $300+ GLX's but the Mossy"s n Spinnerbait rod met my expectations tenfold.
  14. Im no expert on high end gear by no means, I just bought a G.Loomis Spinnerbait rod, been casting that thing for 2 days and love it, it's very light, sensitive and has plentry of backbone to pull in some nice bass. This may not be the rod of choice by the avid fishermen out here, but for the money and the weekend angler, its one sweet *** rod in my opinion. Althought the rod is a lil more then your buget. Take a look at BPS Rick Clunn Series, I still have one and l do like it.
  15. Bassyak, it was I whom found the MossyBacks on ebay, after ordering & paying for them, OhYaSales informed that they could only ship 1 out of 3. So I jumped back ebay and found SimmionsSportingGoods, I spoke with Peter and he matched the prices and had them all in stock. I went with 2 MossyBacks & a Spinnerbait rod. I fished with them for a couple hours yesterday and even though they're not the Loomis flagship GLX rods, all I can say is WOW. The sensitivity was incredible and how light they were compared to my BPS's was amazing. You're gonna love them.
  16. rod-long, thank you man...thats a perfect shot....I guess the 100 is a bit more noticable in its smaller size....not sure she'd feel as comfortable....like I said Im still usta the Abus. TYVM
  17. Thas kool, Thanks...if you do a side by side shot that'll work awsome. I just bought a new Loomis Spinnerbait rod and Im lookin for a fast retreive, I have the 200DHSV as we all know its 7.0:1 and the smaller 100DSV is 6.2:1...not being an expert Im not sure the 5 inches will make that much of a difference. but I do like the feel of the 200 in my hand, probably because Im use to using Garcia's Ambassadeur round casting reels. thnx
  18. I have 2 200 and Im courious if anyone can tell me how much smaller the 100 will be in size. A pic will really help. TY
  19. Well said, I bow my head and pray Lord, hear our prayers.
  20. Anybody have any experiance with this stuff? I found it to be rather inexspensive but a friend swears by it.
  21. At those prices you need to buy em all up and make yourself a few bux
  22. God Bless You, the wife and I are pulling for you n yours. We have a 6 yr old girl. Love every minute of it. Honestly.
  23. I spoke with a rep today at Loomis, he informed me the MB's will work well for the goals in mind. Thery do have the IMX's, I just ran the numbers and it's an additional $60 bux, Im already over my limit.lol Jus a weekend warrior.
  24. Crucials for $80...wow I could've bought 4 for what I paid for my Loomis's....tell us where. great buy tho...
