  1. McClintock "Badges?, We ain't got no badges. We don't need no badges." I admit I had to look that up: The Treasure of the Sierra Madre, originally. I just wanted to quote one of my favorites. Main character sees a guy throw his cigarette on the ground... "Hey ringworm. Yeah I'm talkin' to you you toxic waste of life. You gonna pick up that butt or do I have to glue it to the end of my shoe and stick it up your big fat pimply .?" "Hey man, it's just a cigarette." "Yeah? (holds up fist, clenching slowly) Well this is just a fist. But when I start throwin' it around I can leave one hell of a mess. Let's dance." (cue drum beat) ;D Me, Myself and Irene. Would you mind not shooting at the thermonuclear weapons?
  2. I've a 1032 JB, small deck (removable) in the front, 2 seats on swivels, a Minn Kota Endura 55 TM, and big Sears Marine battery in the back. It is absolutly perfect WHEN IM ALONE. The little craft is waaaay overloaded with 2 grown men, and all thier gear, plus the seats, batt and TM. For your own safety and that of your fishing buddy....Dont Doit. Take the advice of those who own this little boat, its just not worth the risk.
  3. Leader! I fish braid on I believe 14 of my 16 setups. All but 3 of those I have leaders tied on ranging from 6lb - 25lb pline cxx . Braid is great, I'm not sure what you mean about beat down, but I have the same braid on for a few months at a time without any problems, I just change the leaders. its like it frays alot...but I cant imagine a few casts over a few rocks will beat it up that bad..
  4. seems to wear and fray, although most of my fishing is not rocky, I do tend to hit a few spots that include rocks...Im thinking a couple casts over rocks shouldnt kill it that fast.
  5. I've been pounding baits on braid for some time now and really like the non stretch factor for hook sets, but find it gets beat down in a hurry, other options besides braid that may have little to no stretch?
  6. I fish the BCR803 Mossyback, I got a great deal on it and absolutly love this rod for my jigs....I just picked up a Kistler Helium LTA, so we'll see where the Loomis sits when I mount up the LTA.
  7. Was this all such a big deal on January 1 2001? Because I certinaly dont recall, and if y'all think back theres plenty more, regardless being the 1st single or last.
  8. what gets me about this stuff is, I'd like to pimp out my STX's handles or other componants but if you didnt buy a $300 reel your skewered! They make this stuff only for the high end gear?
  9. been looking around at them, I cant beleive I had a swimbait set-up that sat on the rack, so I sold it..Okuma Guide Select and a Cardiff 300. Im going to pull the trigger on a rod before the sale ends on TW Thanks Bro
  10. I know what your thinking, but for the price after TW's sale its practally a give away rod...just trying to get away from throwing my new swimbaits on a 6ft rod without seriously breaking the bank. any thoughts? http://www.***.com/descpageRDCDAIWA-DAHSCR.html
  11. I shot competition archery for several years, the only thing that represents PSE for use was " Parts Scattered Everywhere". Owned one and never went back. Agreed Bruley, the Mathews in an incredible bow, when dialed in and limbs pinned shes quieter then a whisper and dead on balls accurate. Lets not forget Hoyt.
  12. thnx Koop, I've actually tried some of the reverse thinking, but it's only brought me a couple fish over 2lbs. I throw a plastic swimbait that kills them at one of my little local ponds, I know there arnt alot of guys throwing this bait either.....so Im thinking I'll kill them here at my lil spot, nope. Looks like they like the obvious, senkos, jigs, buzzbaits and shinners.
  13. I grabbed a perch colored Baby Wake and seriously considering another, but cant decide what color. My trip will be late nights and or early mornings. The pond I fish is home to perch, white perch, pickeral, sunny's and pumpkins, as well as lmb's n smallies. Rocky bottoms, some structure and clear water with murky sections. Live bait (shinners) kills bass over 3lbs all day long. Any Thoughts. Please.
  14. hopefully casting distance wont be an issue, if I remember correctly I got decent distance with 2oz plugs before, if not not theres always that rod you have for sale Dink...l have been eyeballing it, just not sure she'll handle 25lb CXX and 2 1/2oz baits.
  15. I ordered a couple mini's already, and a TT 4", also the 3:16 Baby Wake.....anybody know what size hooks are on the Mini Slammer?
  16. I had a SB rod but decided against it, to much gear and not enough time. I have permisson to fish a private lake and want to throw big baits. I know the rods a little on the short side, but what I cant understand is, I use to haul 15 and 20lb stripers, and bull bluefish out of the bay without breaking a sweat. What could be so different then winching a 6,7 or maybe (with some luck) an 8lb LMB out 12ft of clear water? Thanks Guys, Thanks for the help.
  17. I have a 6ft graphite rod I had built many years ago as a boat rod for stripers and blues. I've thrown 2 to 2 1/2 oz plugs all day with no issues. Currently an Abu Garcia 5500C sits on it but wondering if my new Revo STX will be up to the task of throwing and handleing such heavy baits. Your thoughts Please. I just dont want to go back out and buy another rod n reel. TY
  18. Good call on getting the baby wake, but if there are fish that large in there, you might want to step up your game and look at the Wake Jr., Hyper Herring, or even the Born Again Armageddon Those are truely nice baits, heck they're freakn awsome, but thats a little out of my range, springing the $50 for the Baby was more then I thought I'd ever spend, I spent a little over that a few weeks ago at the TW and fill my jig & finesse boxes enough to carry me through the season. This place is hardly fished and most comes from docks and a couple boats, I was out and saw 1 boat all night, and they were just riding around. I think the Baby Wake and MS Slammer Mini will wake up some sleepy fish that dont get pressured, or atleast I can only hope. Thanks for help guys, keep the thoughtts comming.
  19. Thanks SB, mabe I'll return the TT and put that $$$ towards a 3:16 or grab another Mini. ;D
  20. Im grabbing a 3:16, how about the MS Slammer Mini, I picked up a couple of those along with a TruTungsten 4", looking for feedback on those 2baits as well. I have a nice little private honey hole a good friend has allowed me to fish. And I know theres some huge LMB's and some record chasing smallies living there. ;D
  21. I looked at the baby wakes, was also looking at the MS Slammer Mini's and the TruTungsten 4". But those Baby Wakes are sweeet.
  22. matthewj52001, sorry you had so much trouble, stuff like this makes me and everyone else think twice about ordering a rod from Larry. But I will say so far Im 100% satisfied with my rods, all 3 of them. If I do have a problem, I'll cross that bridge when I come to it.
  23. Now Muddy, dont you man the Zebco Omega Z03?
