  1. Wow, that was one heck of a clean up! The size of those nuggets was incredible. The Pomrenke's final clean up last year was impressive, but nothing like that video. Not to mention it takes the top crew in "Gold Rush" to hit that total. Thanks for sharing Robert!
  2. X2, and how much over NADA? And I guess you'd take the $1200 that was spent to get the boat fully operational wouldn't be coming out of the perspective buyers pocket. Good luck boostr
  3. Hey boostr, congratulations on your first fish of the year and a belated Happy Birthday! Sorry to see you got cited. California recently tied fishing licenses electronically to our driver licenses and I was wondering if that was the case in New Jersey. And I had to crack up at the eyes box, "2", not brn, blu, hzl, etc. Hope you're able to work this out and have better luck fishing the rest of the year, JB
  4. I was out last week before this last system moved through. The difference between high and low tides seemed to be about a foot of water and you could see over the levees without a problem. I did see some fish up shallow, but I'm sure they have pulled back off the bank by now. Hopefully things will stabilize soon, but more rain is expected next Saturday and Sunday.
  5. Beautiful rod Blue, something I'm sure your boys are gonna look forward to calling it their own one day. JB
  6. Nice! Those proud smiles say it all, yours included!
  7. Nice fish and photos fishballer06 and mllrtm79! Wish I could be out on the water, but it's currently raining here in "sunny" Northern California. Some lakes are closed to boat traffic due to high water and now flash flood advisories are being broadcast on the tv. Be safe and continued good fishing, JB
  8. Hang in there SlickFish, and welcome to Bass Resource and the Forums! Speaking from my own experiences, a lot of co-anglers get wait listed due to some pros not signing up right away because of work commitments, financial situations, and whether or not they are on fish. These things work themselves out as the tourney nears, right up until the final few minutes of registration where the TD is asking for contestants to call their friends because there are open back seats for co-anglers. Besides, the wait list gets shorter as anglers are picked and others withdraw. As Fishes in tress suggests if your aren't already, give 'em a call periodically to see where you stand. Hope you have a successful tourney or a great time in Nashville, JB
  9. I've gotta say I have enjoyed reading everyone's thoughts and viewpoints on this topic. At the end of the day it's just fishing and I believe we all want to be/get better at the various aspects of our sport. In Zeeter's original post he mentioned "front-ending", which in my part of the Left Coast is referred to getting "back seated". Different venacular, but the same meaning and if it isn't intentional it's all part of "fishing". In my experience, sometimes the perception of it can be the contrasting styles and abilities between the front and back of the boat. If the person in the front of the boat is picking the bank apart, that style will definitely conflict with someone whose skill set and is set up to cover a lot of water and vise verse. Making the correct adjustments, while being aware of how and where the other person is being successful helps us all get better. Regarding club tourneys, I believe everyone involved pays their monies to fish, but the boater assumes the greater investment in time and money. Pre-fishing before a tournament is an investment, as is the boat and tow vehicle, gas, two stroke oil (a gallon of Opti), insurance, launch fees, and other incidentals are things boat owners are aware of that some co-anglers take for granted. I personally don't think boaters and co-anglers should directly compete against one another, because this format favors the guy in the front of the boat. An unintended consequence of this is it may force a co-angler with a boat in the future to fish as a boater than remain a non-boater. In the club I fish, boaters fish against boaters, non-boaters against non-boaters, and each boat is a team against the other boat's. The winning team concept is further emphasized in that team with the most weight also had to have caught the most fish (two limits) regardless if another boat had greater weight but fewer fish. I didn't mean to get long winded, but I wanted to share my thoughts. I hope everyone has a great tournament season. JB
  10. In my opinion all of the posts on the this topic is what makes Bass Resource truly unique and informative. Glenn and the Moderators acknowledgement of ThePolkFolk's tread, members locally, nationally and internationally contributing to our collective knowledge and concern for fellow anglers as we pursue our passion of fishing are just a few of the reason why I enjoy Bass Resource so much. Have a great trip to Lake Fork lonnie g, and continued success and good fishing everyone! JB
  11. Mike Iaconelli did a "City Limits Phoenix" fishing show featuring Tempe Town Lake a few years ago...
  12. Dorado, granted I'm not familiar with the area you're talking about, you might check out a smallie beaver or a flappin hog

  17. Amen to that samwise2u. In your original post, I figured you were on a good bite or expecting it to turn on any day now and the dealers timeline wasn't going to prevent you from capitalizing on it. Good luck to you and your boys, JB
  18. Ouch! The damage doesn't look good. Depending on the make of the rod, I check with my local rod repair guy to see if he can fix it or use the rod warranty to get a replacement. If those options aren't feasible, I'd figure out what's gonna be my next rod upgrade. Good luck senko lover, JB
  19. Congratulations samwise2u on your new Triton!
  20. Beautiful boat littlefisher! My first boat was an '86 373V, so your post piqued my interest. In looking at the photos, she looks to have been VERY well taken care of and should give you many enjoyable hours on the water in the years to come. And congratulations to you and the future Mrs, wish you nothing but the best!. JB

  24. Welcome aboard Craig, and congratulations on your new boat. As everyone stated above, it can't be stressed enough to upgrade your trolling motor to 24v and maybe increase the trust a little, including charging system while the boat is still on order. It will truly pay for itself in useful time on the water and reliability over the years you own the boat. JB
  25. Welcome to the Forums Spencezilla, and have you thought about a float tube? If you don't have to worry about gators and snakes this could be an economical option. And if you like trick worm's suggestion, there are many good examples in "Show your ride..." RoLo mentioned golf course ponds (with permission), ponds or lakes with shore access which are great options until you're able to tow a boat. Good fishing, JB
