  1. I agree with avid, try some jigs, spinnerbaits, jerkbaits, and also throw some plastics on a c-rig and drop shot rig. And I've had luck lately throwing a crankbait that dives 8-10 ft. and reeling it fairly slow.
  2. I got to go out yesterday and had a little luck with a Zoom baby brush hog in watermelon red and a Yum rib fry in cotton candy or some bubblegum looking color, I'm not sure what it is exactly called.
  3. My biggest SMB was caught on Beaver Lake, Arkansas off an island in the middle of the lake that had a roadbed running right by it. It weighed 4 lbs. and I caught it on a Yum ribworm.
  4. 1)KVD, I've read both of his books and have all his DVD's that I know of. 2)Rick Clunn 3)Denny Brauer
  5. 1)KVD 2)Iaconelli 3)Edwin Evers
  6. I would definetly put a trailer hook on there. And also use a monofilament line with a spinnerbait and other baits your in constant contact with it, because power pro has no stretch which will pull it right out of there mouth, where the monofilament will stretch a little.
  7. Rip rap is productive for me all year long. I catch alot of bass on a shaky head worm, jig, and crankbait.
  8. I use XPS fluorocarbon and have also started using Seaguar and like it too; I also use Power Pro braided line.
  9. Great posts Chris, really learned alot and I think it will help me this winter/fall.
  10. Congrats LBH and Chris.
  11. Points have a spot where they drop off into deeper water which bass like having shallow water next to deep water. They come up on the point to feed and then they go back down deep where that drop off is.
  12. Start fishing all the newly flooded cover with spinnerbaits and jigs.
  13. I've never tried it but a friend of mine did it and caught a couple bass.
  14. Try a spinnerbait, jig, and a shallow running crankbait up in the creeks instead of offshore.

I like a Zoom Ol' Monster or Yum 7.5 in. worm, I also like a tube or a creature bait.

Anytime the wind is blowing the spinnerbait is my #1 choice.
  17. What is your favorite color of crankbait for clear, stained, and muddy water.
  18. I've never done it, but one of my partners has and it works pretty good. He's caught 'em on the soft plastic and jig. The jig doesn't work to well if your fishing heavy grass cause you'll catch alot.
  19. You might try to find one tree that is different from the rest, like it's isolated or something different and that's where the big fish usually holds.
  20. I would bet your probably reeling too fast.
  21. I would throw a jig or tube around the pilings. Also run a spinnerbait around the dock and some of the brush.
  22. One of my most succesful ways of fishing a dam is a trick worm on a jighead; or a jig and deep crankbait.
  23. I use one in dirty water to create more bulk and vibrations. That's about the only time cause I don't like to use one.
