  1. I suggest staying away from the Vendetta spinning rods, they may have put alot of time into balancing the casting rods, but they skimped on the spinning, terribly unbalanced and heavy.
  2. I feel the same way...I have fished 7'H in both series of rods and they feel pretty close. There's something noticeably different, not bad either way but just different. Both are great rods, however, due to price I'd say Powell but I've heard their warranty price has increased.
  3. 6'10"MH Carrot Stix Gold/Daiwa Sol/12lb P-line floroclear
  4. I fish mostly from shore and uses a dropshot pretty often. Great around standing timber, slowly swimming over grass, and under bridges.
  5. Those F&S rods at Dicks don't feel half bad. They are lighter and alot less tip heavy than the SC Mojos.
  6. I've got one and haven't had any problems out of it in the 4 years I've had it. I've heard the Megaforce reels cast extremely well so the Code might not be as good of a caster but seems solid.
  7. The only thing I have been able to catch em on so far are a suspending jerkbait (Owner Cultiva 65SP) and a Koppers Liver Target Pumkinseed.
  8. I fished it for a few years, it's not the worst line ever but it's not the best either. I have 12lb blue line spooled on a couple extra spinning reel spools and a baitcaster or two for when I go night fishing with my dad. It's really strong line, never had a problem with unnecessary break offs. It is a little on the stuff side and the managability is pretty low but it's well worth the price, especially when on sale. I bought a 1lb spool of the blue for $5 a few years ago and still use it. Not a bad line at a great price when on sale. I'd say pick some up, if you dont like it change, never hurts to try.
  9. 704 Powell Max, Kistler Magnesium, or Dobyns Savvy. These three rods are very similar and are great rods for contact baits. I have the Dobyns and Kistler and a buddy has two of the Powells, if you have a chance to handle them, you'll see that the all feel alike but just a bit different.
  10. If price is a strong factor, I'd go withg the energy, I have a burner and it's a really nice reel. I would do a little price shopping and find a deal on one, I got mine for $130 and for that it is well worth it. If price isn't that b ig of a factor, get the tour, it looks alot better than the energy.
  11. I use two baitcasters to throw suspending jerkbaits, one is a Sol on a 6'10''MH Carrot Stix Gold, the other is a Daiwa Alphas 103 on a 7'M Zillion rod. I don't fish floating jerkbaits much but I throw them on a spinning setup, I feel like I can work it faster with spinning gear, I use a 7'M-XF Damiki Dark Angel and a 2500 Stradic CI4
  12. The BPS "power handle" isn't a bad handle, it fits most reels. I had one on my Sol because at first I didn't like the short handle but you really get used to it.
  13. I'd say get a house brand combo from BPS or Cabelas. I started with the Pflueger President/BPS Extreme Combo for $129.
  14. They always are Not necessarily. The Revo Aurora and Akatsuki were also available in Europe and Australia. Technically, U.S. dealers can get them if they order enough through Pure Fishing's international sales dept. People pregnant dog and moan about the cost of tackle here already. What incentive do vendors have to purchase the high line stuff? I wasn't aware that they were available for international sales. I really liked the aurora
  15. I use the same rod for both techniques with no trouble at all. I use a 7'M-XF Damiki Dark Angel with a 2500 Stradic CI4.
  16. Plain and simple with this one....piece of fresh chicken liver on a 1/0 hook or live bluegill with a bullet weight. Always fished on bottom.
  17. Probably city limits. I like the Scott Martin Challenge and Hook 'n Look as well.
  18. I use 10lb CXX for deep cranks and 10lb flouroclear for jerkbaits/shallow cranks.
