  1. 8lb P-Line Fluoro-clear on spinning gear and 12lb XPS Fluorocarbon on casting gear.
  2. roboworms
  3. looks like a tube X
  4. I used to hate fluorocarbon lines until I used the XPS. I really like it, I use 12lb on my jerkbait rod.
  5. I would pick up some XPS Fluorocarbon while you're there
  6. I didn't know there was a new vanish line.
  7. probably a carp if it jumped out of the water but crappie and shad bust the surface as well
  8. I'd give em a try
  9. I got mine for $79 when I first started with a baitcaster, great reel for that price then. Now there are so many different budget options like the PQ, Citica, and lower Abu reels. I've seen the Codes at Walmart for $129, not a good price for them, I wouldn't pay that much for one. I like my code and still use it but there are better and worse.
  10. Rented it Sunday night and really liked it
  11. On the set of Walker Texas Ranger Chuck Norris brought a dying lamb back to life by nuzzling it with his beard. As the onlookers gathered, the lamb sprang to life. Chuck Norris then roundhouse kicked it, killing it instantly. This was just to prove that the good Chuck giveth, and the good Chuck, he taketh away. Chuck Norris can win a game of Connect Four in only three moves.
  12. If you have a near by Dicks, go check out the Field & Stream Tec Spec line of rods. The are priced at $59.99 and from what I can tell so far from mine, are worth it. http://www.dickssportinggoods.com/product/index.jsp?productId=3986142&cp=2367438.2367824.2291514.2291515 They also carry the Berkley Amp rods that are $29.99 http://www.dickssportinggoods.com/product/index.jsp?productId=3997810&cp=2367438.2367824.2291514.2291515 If you are interested in buying online, Tackle Warehouse has a great selection and some are within your range
  13. The ones I have are poorly constructed, the paint is in no way durable and flakes off with the first use, and every one I have swims on it's side. I'd rather pay the extra for a Spro or even a TT Tru-Life, they actually swim properly.
  14. Personally, I like a longer rod for everything. I have all 7'+ rods with the exception of 3, a 6'6'' lightening rod spinning rod, 6'6'' pro qualifier, and a 6'10'' carrot stix gold. The first two were basically my first actual bass rods but once I started with 7' rods, any shorter just felt insufficient. I use my 6'10'' for jerksbaits and topwater but it's because of the action and shorter handle that makes it easier to work both. It really boils down to your preferences.
  15. I cast the 4 1/2" on a 3/16 shakey head without a problem with my Alpha/Zillion combo but a 1/4oz head is pretty well all you need.
  16. Garbage, there are better for just a bit more money.
  17. I like that it is stiff because I don't like braid, the xf action gives a little more power than a normal, slower flipping stick. I've not fished frogs on it so I can't say but it I haven't found the action prohibits casting.
  18. I have a 766 and would recommend it to anyone, never used the 765 though.
  19. If so, I'd pay $75 in a heart beat
  20. Not gonna be my choice for heavy cover and I don't think I'm alone on this one. The Sol is a great reel for light bait/line applications, it's really a finesse reel. I use mine for shallow cranks and small jerkbaits. You would be better off with an e7 for heavy cover. If you can swing it, buy the Sol, that's a great price if it's new, you can always find something to use it for :
  21. The SX is in no way a good reel for cranking, even in the slower speed, it feels very labored during retrieve for any baits of depth. It all depends on what type pf cranking you're gonna do. I use a Curado e5 and a 7'MH Lucky Craft for deep divers and a Daiwa Sol and 6'10MH Carrot Stix Gold for shallow runners and jerkbaits.
