  1. Got one....the Gold blows is out of the water in almost every aspect....except the guides on my LTX are still good.... >
  2. which is? That means don't throw a football head in the grass
  3. I checked mine yesterday and am starting to see the grooves, not quit as bad as yours but they are starting. I haven't noticed an effect on the line, the grooves are pretty smooth, I've only used 3 lines on it: 10lb Fluoro-clear, 10lb Suffix Deep Crank, and 12lb Yo-Zuri Hybrid. I have to agree with Roadwarrior that for a rod in that price range, this kind of probablem is unacceptable. I really like my Gold Carrot Stix but for $200 the guides should last longer than a season.
  4. I've caught numerous bass while crappie fishing with tubes. It's basically a finesse technique that can catch some serious sizes of bass. I've bass fished beside my dad while crappie fishing without a bite but he is catching them one after another. I've not done it intentionally yet but have been wanting to go out bass fishing like this
  5. A friend has a 6'M Premiere and that thing is a little broomstick
  6. x2 I wouldn't mind trying the new Tour Edition PT with the carbon handle, but I can't bring myself to shell out that kind of money when I can get a Curado or Patriarch for less. Not sure about the Tour but the new Energy is a dandy little reel and they got rid of the shiny finish on it. You are right, the Curado's and Patriarchs make it hard to go further in reel buying but that's probably a good thing
  7. Congrats...we closed on our house in Feb. and used the first time buyer credit and an FHA loan for the down payment.
  8. got one for $60 but IMO I don't think it's that great of a reel. It casts pretty good but is stiff on retrieve and not very smooth.
  9. The shipping alone should have been more than $8
  10. Bass Pro Swizzle Sticks are pretty good http://www.basspro.com/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/Product_10151_-1_10001_91125_100007001_100000000_100007000_100-7-1
  11. It's 8.50 where i go and it would've been 6.50 but I still haven't gotten my student id because I never feel like sticking around after class to get it but 17 is because i have to buy my girlfriends. But yeah i didn't really look into it much i just saw the little clip on tv which only showed someone getting thrown into the camera. I did look on youtube and some of the scary parts are on the trailers you can find, but then again of course it's not scary because you haven't seen how it builds up to it. But yeah it's starts off slow but really gets good they did a great job using suspense throughout the movie. Overall i just thought it was a great scary movie that actually scared me which no other horror movie has really been able to do since i was little. Gotcha...
  12. Told me that about an Extreme/President combo, talked to someone else and they said it was fine :-/
  13. Tennessee Shad, Bleeding Baby Bass, Smokey Joe
  14. yes i was wondering if those were good for flipping thanks what length rod do you use They have a 7'6''H and a 7'9''XH
  15. Ok...I saw it two weeks ago and thought it was ok. Same premise and style as Blair Witch but done well and actually watchable. I don't think I would pay $17 for any movie but the $7.50 was tolerable. As with just about any movie nowadays, you pretty much get the idea from the trailers, and with a movie where not much happens, almost every "action" sequence is readily available without watching the movie, the end was a bit of a twist but saw a trailer yesterday that showed that too. The original set showing the crowd more so than the movie worked at first but they've slowly moved more of the movie in and in a movie where all the things that happen can be shown in a 8-10 min clip, it hurts a bit. Ok, back to the movie, the low budget actually helps it's believability. It made it look like home movies or clips that could be watched on youtube and the acting is pretty good. A pretty high level of comedy helped in the progression of an otherwise pretty slow movie. As far as it being scary, it's more suspenseful than anything. The bedroom scenes cause most of this as they all look the same and you don't really know where to look and when something does happen it starts out pretty subtle, aiding in the creep out factor of the whole thing. Over all I think is was an improvement over prior attempts at the same style ( Blair Witch Project ). Didn't really find it scray, maybe a little startling, but like I said little is left to surprise after seeing the trailers.
  16. Happened to a buddy last with the crankin sticks. On sale online but not marked in store, told the girl at the service desk who said she couldn't check the website instore. Had her call a manager and magically they pulled up the site and printed off the sale page. We went to check out, gave the guy the paper from the site, paid and left. I thought the price was a tad high, checked the reciept and it was full price. Had to take it back to the service desk to get the refund for the sale price.
  17. That's the exact same thing I thought
  18. Is it because you hadn't used it much?
  19. I have a Gold and haven't had any problems with it but that looks pretty bad
