  1. You'll probably was a faster reel, usually 7.x. I use a Curado E7 and a "Burner" Energy.
  2. Personally I would use a low-pro reel. If you are gonna be flipping and pitching for an extended period of time, I think you would benefit from the improved ergonomics of a low profile.
  3. The older Premiere is still on sale at tackle warehouse for $165....the stx is $135 for LH
  4. Honestly, it doesn't matter what we say. You have it narrowed down to two, get your hands on them and find out which you like better. I bought a used revo s on eBay to try it out from what alot of people had said about. Turns out I don't like it, I prefer my quantum code over it but it's something I had to experience to really know. However, if you can get the Tierra you can get for $40 then that's not a bad way to go.
  5. The rods I use for cranking are a 7'MH Lucky Craft which is fiberglass and a 6'10'MH e21 Carrot Gold which is graphite "nano bio-fiber". The sensitivity of the Lucky Craft is greater than other composites and graphite rods in the competing price range like the Quantum Tour KVD.

  7. I seems to me that the majority of pure low geared cranking reels are only available in RH models Curado, Quantums "Power" Energy, BPS David Fritts crakin reel, and alot of the BPS reels....just to name a few. There are LH reels in low gears Abu Winch, Crazy Cranker, BPS Extreme but far less than RH.
  8. could be it...the hooks on most baits don't even come close to touching
  9. You'll probably never find a better $40 reel...10
  10. I've never had a hookset problem with flouro-clear, I use 8 lb too on my Stradic and only break off when hung. As for the CXX, it's a package deal and for me the managabilty is a non issue, doesn't affect casting or the actual fishing so it doesn't bother me. I would suggest YZ hybrid on both but I've never used US. I would also suggest CX as a compromise between the two.
  11. Don't know how true it is but heard a guy say he caught a bass that spit up a live cottonmouth on the deck of his boat.
  12. Knew a guy that did that out of necessity. He was paralized from the waist down I think. Used to fish out of his station wagon with a teloscoping 12' pole straight out the window. He caught alot of fish. Just happened there was a part of the lake backwaters that had a road right around the bank. Perfect for him.
  13. What kind of lipless baits do you use? I can't really say I've had that problem other than when they are in a box.
  14. he also used to call every one Rudy Poo
  15. I like their soft plastics, there are better brands but for the money they are good. I like their Stick-o's, Ribbontail worms, Tender Tubes, Swizzle Sticks, and their Fin-eke worms and TKO worms look nice too
  16. I chose Curado but a Patriarch would be a good choice

  18. Wow...those are really....well....crappie I guess
  19. They provide a pretty good action as a jig trailer.
  20. If your reel fells like crap, makes no difference if it's on a GLX or an ugly stick, it's gonna limit your fishing ability and the pleasure of so. I say if you spend $150-200 on a reel, might as well spend that on the rod too.
