  1. none, I have yet to get a bite on a fluke type bait, have given them a real fighting chance but a weedless finesse, stick, or trick worm work worlds better for me. Just my experience though
  2. If you're breaking rods like that, then you either need to find a better rod or learn to take care of your equipment better and I don't think it's the rods that are the problem. Sounds like he may be a little itchy at the trigger
  3. I primarily fish the BPS Tender Tubes with the BPS weedless tube jig in 3/16oz, the XPS comes in 1/4oz but is more expensive for 1 less jig, the cheaper ones do the trick. Sometimes I use a rattle, for the most part, I use the cheap Renegade Jig Rattles from Wal-Mart, they are cheap and get the job done. Glass tube rattles may produce a better sound but can be expensive. I recently pieced together a tube/finesse setup from a Daiwa Alphas 103 and 7'M-XF Daiwa Zillion rod. I like a setup geared toward lighter baits for the majority of my tube fishing for casting reasons, both for ease and distance. It's a great light weight setup that's light enough to throw smaller weights but the Zillion has the power when you need it. As for fishing them, I usually use them where I would use a T-rigged worm, around light and sparse wooded cover, hard rocky bottoms where you would find craws, just about anywhere that the grass isn't too thick. I retrieve them by dragging like a worm with small hops, if you get hung in grass or on a rock, I'll shake it like a shaky head as is comes through or over giving the tentacles a little action and working the rattle. I've found most of the bites come on the fall, in deeper water, and then after you stop or shake it a few times.
  4. I had heard they had new album out, haven't got around to getting it yet but I like the first one
  5. If memory serves me right, checked out both. The Elite was lighter than the Sig. but didn't really like it.
  6. Would have loved to have been in on that deal.
  7. you always hear about flourocarbon being more abrasion resistant than mono but that's not been my experience at all. When I tried it, it seemed to break all the time when it shouldn't have and felt weaker than other lines of the same rating. I prefer copolymer to everything else and really like P-Line and Yo-Zuri Hybrid.
  8. I'm interested in how they improved the ergonomics if you don't care explain. From what I can tell about the new revo's, they use the body style.
  9. I would say the Kistler. The only thing I don't like about it is that it has Hardloy guides but if you're not using braid and watchout for the tip, then they are a non issue. I have a Carrot Stix but I prefer the Magnesium. I'm not a big fan of the JM rods, granted I've never fished one, but I don't find them all that light and tend to look else where for rods in the same price range. Even though I really like the BPS reel seats, I feel that above the Pro Qualifiers, when on sale, the rods are overpriced for what they are. As for returning one, good luck, it seems it's the luck of the draw, BPS only covers rods for 1 year and if ordered online, they aren't covered in store, so I've been told by BPS.
  10. The biggest thing for me is, like J Francho, throwing it where they are. I use it as a targeting bait, not a search lure. Throw it near a piling, bush, something visible, let it sink, give it some twitches, let it sit for a few seconds, then on to the next target.
  11. So does Tackle Warehouse but honestly I don't see the big deal with it. I hate the color, the handle is the best feature and it looks like Pflueger has gotten rid of the screw on handle, at least on the new LH model and I think on the RH? as well. The handle is the biggest downfall of the reel but not a deal breaker.
  12. I also have 2, an E5 and an E7. The E5 is great for deep divers and I use the E7 on my flipping stick. I would like to get another E7 or 2.
  13. haha...what an odd thing to ban. I have only thought of that word 5 times in my life and that was while reading the post and the article.
  14. I've got a plastic back in my back pack that is full of loose baits and anytime I change hooks, I leave the plastic hooked and toss it all in the bag. I also keep my JJ's in there when I go out, in it's own seperate bag but had a spill a while back so all the baits smell like garlic. I also have a small plano box that holds used hooks.
  15. The kistler is a good rod but don't get the 7'H, look at the all day flipping stick, the 7'H is a great rod but not a great flipping stick. I know some people really like them but I would forget about the JM rods, they are extremely heavy and lack sensitivity of rods in the same price range. I would choose the Avid over the Premiere, and as for the L&T, well, they may be tough but aren't all that light. I'm also gonna throw in the Powell Max 766c as a suggestion, the Powell Max series of rods are very comparable to the Kistler Magnesium series.
  16. That's probably a black Friday price....actually it says thanksgiving day sale
  17. Nice fish BigRickRolled.....have you ever tried any of these? Tend to catch alot of suckers on those
  18. Not quiet sure how large my biggest are but the first was on a wave worms tiki stick in smoke Shad the other was on a SK series 5 in sexy shad no weights on them but the first was right at 19" and the other was 19 3/4"
  19. Most of these have already been said but oh well...some hardcore thrown in as well Throwdown The Showdown Motograter All That Remains Black Label Society...Sonic Brew Specifically Escape The Fate Deep Field In Flames Bullet For My Valentine A Static Lullaby Norma Jean Killswitch Engage Korpiklaani - Folk Metal from Finland The Agonist Alexisonfire Lacuna Coil Bleeding Through
  20. When I oil a reel, I usually use Ardent Reel Butter
  21. If you move up to 7' you're options open up quiet a bit, not to mention it wouldn't hurt with casting distance
  22. There have been a number of flipping sticks in the Flea Market lately...I would start there, there are some good deals to be had. If you want something new, give us a price range and we'll give some suggestions
