  1. No doubt!! This is the history I'm surrounded with every day and it absolutely sucks me in, from the tools and stuff used around the houshold to the "Main Rd to Boston" (Todays I95), pretty cool stuff. Michelle pointed out when they mentioned the date in one of the episodes (1775) that the people across the street probably discussed all these things in detail as they ate the family dinner. Like I said, We're surrounded by this kind of history here in New England. This is the house across the street, circa 1711 Trivia- Anyone know why colonial houses like this have windows that have a bunch of small panes of glass instead of the traditional 4 pane window?
  2. Cat's the other white meat But realy are you $hiting us?? I have never heard of such a thing Good morning sir what can i get you. Well i need 8 buckets of chum 2 tuna and 15 stray cats..... O going out for some sharks are we. That will be $29.50 hope you get a big one.. I can see the peta vidio now. small chiled petting her beluved fluffy. then lets her out tp do its doody the big bad fisheman grabs it and go's fishing followed by severle minets of realy scary footage of a cat being devowerd by a shark.. . Thats all we need :-X :-X :-X :-X :-X :-X Any saltwater angler knows that you can't just walk in and buy cats. You need friskies, a net, a some time. "Making bait" is all part of the saltwater experience whether it's jigging up Whiting or poaching kitten. The thing is, even the artificial kittens work as good as the real thing now so I'm all set with live bait. :
  3. Nothing against our brothers in arms from across the pond but I couldn't disagree more, lol. My sister lived in Wimbledon for 12 yrs, when I visited, I think I lost 10 lbs ( shut up Burley ;D) Have you considered making your own? Real easy. I would think making your own would be something you'd RATHER do anyway, knowing you and your passion for cooking.
  4. I must have missed that one. My deepest sympathies to you and your family Papa. I am very tight with my sister, I'd be lost w/o her. So sorry for your loss.
  5. Just spoke with Ronnie,...The BassBus is rollin folks, the trip has officially begun!!!! Looking forward to seeing you today Mike, hopefully we can start your vacation on the right foot. Either way, we'll have fun Have a blast everyone, stay safe.
  6. Just a note to wish everyone going to Gville a safe, fun time. A BR roadtrip sure is special and it kills me to not be there with you guys but I'm sure you'll all have a great time. Hoping everyone catches a 10 lbr but more importantly, stay safe guys and girls. Lots of pics and video please! Everyone have a blast and represent our little community with style!!!!! CATCH "EM UP!!!
  7. Pull up a chair, class is about to begin I would suggest saving your money and reading a ton here. You may want to hire a guide for a day to learn some new techniques and to have structure/cover explained in person, on your home water, but I don't think there is too much you can learn at a Bassmasters University, or any similar set up, that you won't learn here but hands on experience is priceless.
  8. I just thought a guy as well educated as him would want the record set straight. I found that fact rather interesting too. The original post was made by someone who obviously hadn't thought it all the way out. You are defending him, and quite badly I might add. Even he can come back and say "thanks" guys, I hadn't thought that one all the way out" but you are defending him against one of the few guys who was willing to answer the thread with facts instead of humor (although there sure are some funny replies, lol) so where does that leave you? Looking dumb. Think things out Well then, if he caught a couple of snakes that aren't "water moccassins" (aka water snakes), maybe he has a couple of cottonmouths. If that's the case, I hope he video tapes himself hooking these snakes. Should make for some good entertainment. Who cares?? I should think YOU would seeing as how you fish snake infested water If you see it all the itme, then you won't have any trouble catching some video. If you can, I know someone who can get you published. Because you will have proven FALSE studies that show that snake mortality due to bass predation is negligible. Bass do not regularly predate on snakes. In other words, put your money where your mouth is. If you're not sure where your mouth is,...look for your foot, it will be close by. Thanks for your informative and well proof-read post. Gitrdone-What gives? Micro gives lots of good info here and has LOTS of knowledge about snakes. I don't appreciate a member who is on probation, after being banned, telling a member of good standing to "go hug your snakes" elsewhere. Personally, I'd like to tell you to post your ignorance filled comments elsewhere when I see a reply like this. SV1000- Your thread was obviously an honest question, not one designed to just stir the pot. Hopefully some of the replies have helped you out. Aside from the obvious debate of whether they make good bait or not, there is the law to consider. Anyone considering trying this, please check your state laws first.
  9. Helios Custom and then you follow that with whatever it's made for (crank, Flip, Worm, Jig, Topwater) So it would look like these Helios Custom Crank Helios Custom Flip Helios Custom Topwater Etc
  10. Also look into Echo lake. Bass Hole is correct, you don't need anything other than a RI license if your boat is currently registered in another state
  11. While you guys were busy trying to achieve 75 mph with your sexy boats, on the 7 lakes in the state that allow them,....I was dipping my jon boat in every body of water on the map including a few I got access to because I was the UPS man and got to be friends with land owners. Where I am now is the "retirement" place I chose,....AFTER test driving all the others. Punk (ps- I always gotta roll my eyes when I hear the excuse that cameras and scales are "bad luck",....I say again,........Convenient : ) (pss- you know I love ya man.........scale or not ;D )
  12. No, it's gold/off white and a little chrome. The boat has the origional steering cables that run from the steering wheel(up front) down both gunnels and back to the motor. It has pulleys at all four corners. The steering wheel has a drum that takes up the the cable. A pull/pull system. It's really cool, and works quite well..................AL Yes, I've seen those set ups, very mechanical (in a basic way) looking, very cool!
  13. LMAO,...we just move posts and ban people,...we don't actually FISH! ;D
  14. Man, I'd love to convert that boat to white w/ grey carpeting. Are you far from me when you get home Al?
  15. we were just worried about ya Captain Glad to see you have your hands full with clients, stay on 'em!!
  16. The Allstate ad on the left is on often
  17. Mikes show really doesn't need defending. It is what it is, this young gun just didn't realize what that was. I think he assumes all fishing shows are intended to compete with each other. Now, If Mike came off like he thought he was Mark Zona, it would be a different story but the whole appeal to this particular show is EVERYDAY GUYS fishing together as opposed to sponsor laden infomercials. That's we love him so much Keep up the good work Mike and BMC, watch the show for what it s, not what you think it should be. Watch closely and you'll notice that many of the guests are also forum board members here. Lunkerville is the perfect representation of "Grass Roots" fishing, the class 80% of us fall into.
  18. That just sucks. :-[ Prayers for the family, wishing everyone courage and the strength. This is also a reminder for everyone to keep the ones you love close and to TELL THEM often.
  19. Any details we can give will be a help to figure this out. Thanks guys
  20. I am having some minor issues with the site in the morning. None of the other mods are affected. So I'm wondering if it is just me. I haven't seen a mention of anyone else having trouble. My issues are mainly page loading times and I have to wait up to a minute for a reply to be able to be posted. Anyone else?
  21. Poor Carl. You watch, after all this guff, he's probably been practicing with his new rig all year. He's gonna sweep in at 40, throw it sideways and gently drift into his slip, touching in like a feather... ;D SHOW 'EM CARL!!
  22. lol, true, true. But sponsors DO sponsor Jr anglers, so hopefully it'll be an awareness call for him The good thing about being twice as good as anyone else though is that the sponsors will come to you so just keep fishing. Example: Senko77 has been sponsored since he was 15. He is well spoken, humble, willing to learn and of course,....one heck of an angler. (Multiple tourny wins and top 5 placements and 2 fish over 13 lb,s from public water, before he was 16, not too shabby) This , in my opinion, is why he is winning everything he enters and why Tru-Tungsten, Rat-L-Trap,etc have been on board with him. He is a great example for the young guns here.
  23. Don't go nuts Catt, Home depot or Lowes should have something that will work. I need to buy it today so mail order is out.
