Good point. I'll add,..leave them in the car or truck, not in the boat.

Use your head
Yea, we do a thread like this every year. Many of the same replies will be given as in years past but reading them again keeps them fresh in our minds and for newer folks, they get to gain the knowledge that we all have thrown around here for a few years now. Knowledge is life in these cases. **Save your "ice fishing specific" tips, that will be another thread when the water stiffens so it is fresh in the noggen

Highlighting some good
I just watched, on the news, a Dr. from Narragansett RI was at one of the Connecticut casinos and he lost his wallet with $8k cash in it. A waiter found it. Although he humanly contemplated it, he put himself in the Dr.s shoes and returned it. The Dr. , blown away by the man's integrity, told him to keep the wallet,....cash and all.

Use your head
It's that time of year again. Let's hear some helpful hints to keep everyone safe as the temps drop. First and formost, PFD's Water temps are dropping quickly. Your survival window shrinks exponentially with these drops. Just going in immediately puts you in a "situation", no matter how close to shore you are. Take your time when moving around on a boat. Calculated moves, be aware of where you are stepping. NEVER GO ALONE Let someone on land know where you are going and when you'll be back. Cell phone. A good read

That's WAAAAAY off base. An "Avid" basser is one that takes self portrait pictures with a camera phone. They are found in the warm climates like Florida. Usually of Italian descent and often susceptible to high end tackle. The recent population decline is directly to to their vulnerability to leave themselves wide open to the fatal 1 liner on public forum boards.

Avid hangs one
No way,...that's like telling Monet that he should switch to magic markers

Beautiful fall bassin...
Yea, we had a beautiful fall this yr. Tin2win and I got out for a short stint today and although we didn't catch, the views were awesome and we are way past peak foliage. One of those 60 degree days when it should be 40 degrees. Awesome.

Should I or shouldn't I
In situations like this, we like to refer to the KU chart.

new rod/reel setup advice
You lost me here. How can a reel be too slow for senkos and too fast for cranks?? For that matter, how can ANY reel be too slow for senkos?? I fished the Tierra all this season on a custom rod for senkos. LOVED IT. Search around, you will not find a negative review on this reel anywhere.

Trick Worms
Dirk kicked my butt for a stretch when he got into using the *** finesse worm with a 1/8 bullet. He out fished me, hands down, know matter which time proven bait I threw. I think it was much more about the presentation it was giving. He lost his last 1/8 oz so he switched to an 1/8 oz shakey head. Still smoked me. Then he started to experiment and switched out the finesse worm for a slim *** (very sexy low profile bait) Again, the bite did not stop for him. All just food for thought.

BPS brand plastics
Just an FYI- MANY of these baits are made in the same factory as many of our name brand favorites.
