Keeping a bass as a pet?
FC- Your opinion is highly respected here, especially by me. With that said, I see the main difference between fish from a pet sstore (like my Oscar) versus a bass harvested from local water is that with the Oscar, the damage is already done. The fish was harvested from some S. American river (Assuming it wasn't a farm fish) and sent to a pet store. My "adoption" of this fish, although I am supporting the harvesters with my $$, is my way of making sure that at least 1 of the "already harvested" fish has as decent of a life as he can now that the damage is done. My point is that there are plenty of fish that have already been harvested (or raised if a farm fish) to fill our tanks. Taking ANOTHER fish out of the wild just doubles the damage and is not necessary. Cool, no doubt, but an Oscar is just as cool without adding to the fish harvesting that has already been done. ps- How'd you do yesterday,...? Been monitoring the "outings" section in anticipation Nevermind, found it,lol

Well what do yall think so far
Dave, I noticed you are having difficulty posting pics. seeing as how you took the time to host them on P-bucket, I wanted to let you know that there are 3 VERY easy to follow tutorials for posting pics located in the forum FAQ's. You want to choose option #2, the one that says "How to post pics using an online photo host" (we even used P-Bucket for the example ) Note: P-bucket has modified itself. They now offer 4 link choices. When I built the tutorial, they only offered 3. Make sure the link you choose from photobucket is the one that says "Direct Link". I believe it is now the 2nd choice down (below the pic you are choosing)

Need help w/ a plant (Cactus)
Below is a cactus my sister gave me last Christmas. every yr, we go to her house on the Cape and I get to take home lots of new clippings and older plants she's "all done" with. This is one I got last yr. It was just the main stalk when I got it. Since then, it shot out 4 new "arms". Now it is top heavy and I was wondering if I can take an arm or 2 off and replant them or how I would go about taking clippings to lighten up the top and start some newer ones in another pot. I know, this is a tough one but if anyone knows anything about this cactus, even if you could just ID it for me, I would really appreciate it. all the plants I get from sis are special. They keep her in my mind when I'm a state away. Thanks.

The "Venture" was one of North Face's best sellers in 2006 and 2007. It was one of the first waterproof garments by North Face that was in the entry level price range. Compared to the competitors jackets (EMS, Marmot, Descente, Mtn Hardwear, etc) it offered all the goodies that the competitors didn't offer until you hit the $180 mark. For high end clothing, that jacket is a STEAL!

New Lizzard on the market
Avid,...you gonna just sit back and take that??? Here a factoid for you. A full grown adult male has enough strength in his tail to break a 6ft mans femur. Now, they use the tail to slap, not break, but as far as forces involved,....pretty impressive. I had one of these for 7 yrs. She was huge. When I got her, (in Vt) the local vet happened to be a guy who had a grant regarding the reproduction of Iguanas in captivity. He was a huge help. He turned me on to "Monkey chow" biscuits by Zoopreme. Soak them in milk before feeding to an Iguana and they get HUGE, like steroid huge. BTW- The house fire I commonly refer to where I lost most of my skiing memorabilia, was caused by a faulty timer on the heat rock in her pen. She passed in the fire

need help finding lure!
Yea, my pic is of the fastrac (diving). The pic T-rig posted is the floating. Both of these are true producers for finding bluefish on a troll. Then we get them in and get the fly rods out. Great search bait. Another note. We always remove all hooks and replace only the rear with a bucktail-tied, single hook. No trebles.
