  1. Don't worry about it, think like a UPS driver this time of year,..........you can sleep in January. 8-) I think Avid will be VERY upset if the camera isn't working full time for this one,lol
  2. To please visit our LIST OF ADVERTISOR'S before placing your orders. The list is a "sticky" in this section. With Christmas coming, I'm sure all of you will be pouring over the internet to find your wife that perfect 7 foot swimbait rod, hehehe. Perhaps a getaway for just the two of you to beautiful, sunny, warm,....Lake fork, Texas? Maybe she just wants shoes like every other woman. May I suggest the felt soled guide boots from Cabela's?? *** make GREAT stocking stuffers. They fill out the toe, JUST right and topped with a tube of Mega strike, that stocking is a sure winner Got a favorite fishing buddy? Perhaps you could treat him to a few reel servicing coupons from the one and only REELMECH? Just saying,....there are lots goodies available for your loved one this year, give our supporters a look while examining your naughty & nice list [move]Thank You & Catch 'em up!!![/move]
  3. Avid, no need for a bad taste. Whittler quit the forum a little while back. He can be contacted through his site.
  4. Call me old fashioned but I'll just keep using a rod n reel to catch my bass, lol.
  5. PM bobbymegastrike, he'll let you know the exact differences
  6. In my best Borat voice----"Veddy Niiice"
  7. I hear that Avid! Around here, bluefish are to a striper fisherman what pickerel are to a bass fisherman. NOT IN MY BOOK!! I'd rather catch 5 lb blues all day than 10 lb stripers. (based strictly on fight,...NOT taste. Stripers are delicious) FC- not all rules apply ALWAYS of course, lol. THIS ONE was caught by accident fishing schoolies. Not 30, closer to 20 but a blast on a 6.5 ft med freshwater rod, lol.
  8. Awesome!! Congrats to your whole (expanding) family!! Well done Mom!!
  9. Awesome Deb, thanks for doing the leg work It "Looks" like the total opposite of Fork. At Fork, every inch looks like it holds a fish,....all that timber.... Here, it looks like lots of open water, the stuff I am more comfortable in. Time for a good map. Thanks again guys!
  10. GO MATT!!! AWESOME!!!! side story, maybe you could use this Fisher of men. I worked at the NE PVA (paralyzed vets) tournament a few weeks back. At the end, before the weigh -in, we were eating some of the donated pizza and a young guy asked another young guy where the pizza came from. The answer was "it was free". well,....an older gentleman pulled them aside and made sure they knew that NOTHING is free. "See Jim's legs,...or lack thereof? That pizza was the pizza company owners way of saying "thank you" to all the "Jim's" out there." was what he told them. a few people learned a big lesson that day. again, great job Matt.
  11. But the odd thing is that UPS buys fuel on "contract" The fuel we use today was bought 2 or 3 yrs ago. Gas will go up today and the stock will freeze but the new fuel won't be used till 2010.
  12. Penn power graphs are great reels for the money. If you want, you can take one of mine when you come up in a few weeks
  13. Howdy early riser Big baits, big fish....... but not always the case. When we wire line for cows, (50+ feet down), we are pulling 9'r rigs with 6" shad body baits (paddle tails) I think it's more about being where they are than what you offer. Sidenote- my biggest Bluefin (est. 1120 lbs) came on a 5 inch whiting. I had never bothered even keeping anything under 10" while jigging bait,...THAT changed reeeeeal quick!! Go get 'em today buddy, we'll be waiting for the next report ps- I'll be back in Cali (CAST convention, then up to Roberts) this Feb. What is the striper bite like around that time?
  14. Excellent answer. Noone wants trebles in their hand. Use single hook presentations till you are ok with it. Remember, the lips are the equivalent of 200 grit sandpaper. no biggee. ps-You CAN tongue them but it does a number on you. (and the itch from the bacteria is pure torture)
  15. Why are we at war again????? it had nothing to do with 9/11, ..............that was Afghanistan and Al Queda Wasn't the Weapons of mass destruction......they didn't exist........ I just don't get it. It's funny but gas prices directly effect the UPS stock. I wonder what other companies have the same situation (we are the single largest fuel consumer next to the US Military)
  16. Most anglers I see do what your saying to promote there sponsors now, the only differance in the thing I am trying to do is let the staffers actually make money for what they do. pyramidal???????? Most sponsors only give anglers a discount on there product and then they want them to do shows and all kinds of other stuff. I have not seen any sponsors out there that really let ther staffers make money. It does sound like the old pyramid selling method when I first read it (just short walls), but you are right most sponsors only give you a small discount. To me, those aren't sponsors, just salesmen offering you a "sale". Granted, if it is something you were going to buy anyway, a 15% discount helps but.....sponsored? Not.
  17. Flech- My "Turkey Run" line up WILL be in the casket with me when I go. Hopefully I will have 3 or 4 of them by then
  18. Gotchya I asked because my neighbor did just that. He bought insulated ski bibs thinking they were the same type of thing I wear. Unfortunately, he got them on sale and couldn't return them.
  19. Great Fish FC!! Soon, they will come I'm sure you know this but just in case, the big girls are ALWAYS below the males. Underneath them. Any way to fish deeper? Jerbs- That's one fine 10lbr right there. Great Cali stripers guys!!!
  20. I spoke wit Robert last night, there probably won't be enough footage for a video so the pics will be up asap. We were going to do an AIM transfer last night so I had all the media but I think one, or both of us, fell asleep before it came to be. They will be up shortly. FC- One of the main reasons I want to go is so I can use the heck out of my cameras. Some of the things he was telling me about last night HAVE to be put on film. (or memory card, lol) It looks like we are going to change the date so I can go next year. I CAN'T WAIT!!! Who wants to be in an international film??? Hop on the bandwagon!!
  21. I gotta get that thing on video...... 8-) Wayne- Too funny
  22. Offend??? NO WAY! I hope they buried it with him!
  23. ?? Say WHAT ?? You can now get Gore-tex shells close to the same price range as FT's. Avoid the insulated stiff, this is for winter. The shells are great, you layer accordingly underneath. Well worth the few extra dollars for a FITTED, 100% waterproof, breathable garment. FT's are not warm, are like wearing a big bag and have very little wind protection. Yes, they are ok for the money but their best feature is that you can squish them into a ball and shove them in a glove compartment of your boat. (Stow-able) Most importantly,...the "waterproofness" wears out. If you do a search for "rain gear" "rain suits" or "foul weather gear", you'll find a few threads from last year that were quite lengthy. If you do go the Gore-tex route, shop around. Cabelas guidewear are a great value but if you can afford the cream of the crop, I highly recommend The North Face. This stuff is worth saving for IMO, you'll use them for more than just fishing. Why? Did you buy "insulated"? Gore-tex has nothing to do with "warmth". (aside from wicking the perspiration away from your body and back out through the outer shell of the clothing. It's a 2 way fabric about as thick as tissue paper) Wayne- I see your vision popping up in one of next yrs vids, lol.
  24. I think it is in the 5k range. 10 days or so....I'M IN!! Up to my eyeballs!!!!! Oh wait,....December......... No can go > Robert- NO PICTURES!!! Save them for the video please
