  1. Forget the cats, you can get them like that here but look at the size of those snakeheads,...friggin' HUGE!! (and vicious!)
  2. Yes, that is a common freshwater tank fish. Store owners may fear that it could be carrying disease, virus' or parasites after being in wild water but worth a shot. All it takes is a week in a sterile bath with aquarisol to clean him up.
  3. Hey hey Rayre! lol FSF is where I found out about Joe also. Some salty dogs over there, great group.
  4. yea, how could I forget Discovery. One of my Fav's is "Beyond Tomorrow"
  5. Our night bite dies also as the cold air arrives. I don't know if there is a special temp that triggers this but once they start their cold water preparation, we don't even start fishing till the sun has had a chance to heat up the rocks that their food is still relating to.
  6. Wind against tide is no fun but FC, who are you kidding, it doesn't rain out there!! ;D 8-)

  8. Cool man, can't ask for much more than that. If you can't come, can I rent your boat? ;D
  9. So tater, we gonna get to meet ya?? Appreciate the info
  10. I honestly don't think too many take much skill. Maybe something involving pitching or flipping. As for "level of difficulty" I think discipline weighs more than skill assuming you are a proficient caster. With that said, I think big swimbaits for that 1 bite, would be the 1 bait that requires the most discipline. 2nd would be deadsticking something. Again, it's the presentation, not so much the lure. Finding them is the part that takes skill. Once you do, catching them is only like the last 1/5th of the game. This is partially why my views have leaned more and more towards the fact that many (most) baits are all hype. MANY would work in MANY situations. Of course, there is the exception but in general, bass are bass and they can be predictable. To say you need a certain bait in a certain color on a certain lake,...I just can't swallow that. So, I would say it ranks the stages of "catching a fish" like this 1. finding them 2. Presentation 3. Choosing something they will eat
  11. And we sure do appreciate that GW,...thanks for keeping them scared
  12. Worlds Greatest Fishing Show. Finally, a show I can relate to. This is Zona's show. I never really cared for him. I first learned of him when he did the show with Kumar and he seemed like an arrogant jerk. Now I see him in a different light. I like this show because it's not about competing, it's not a 1/2 hr lesson on a certain sponsors bait, etc. It's more about fishing and the camaraderie involved. Just my style. So far, I really like this one and am beginning to understand Zona a little better, seems like an ok guy.
  13. I wouldn't enjoy fishing as much w/o the off season. Keeps me hungry,...yr after yr. I love the excitement when the temps start coming back in April,...the excitement is electric. I would burn out if I had it 12 months/yr. Breaks are good. Plus there's G-ville to look forward to.
  14. Powder coating is something I thought was only done in a powder coating shop, no? What do you do, bake in the home oven?

  17. yea, up here, we don't usually need a chart to tell us not to lick the flagpole. It seems there is that 1 turning night when you wake up at 2am and RUN around the house closing all the windows, hoping your teeth don't smash each other from chattering so hard. Add that night with the first zero of the season (today) and yup,....it's gettin' close to hibernation time again.
