  1. And please, for the love of God, take pictures!! lol
  2. ok guys, this isn't a thread to bash Charlie or ESPN or anyone else, I just wanted to follow up with everyone now that we have gotten a reply. Thanks
  3. Well guys, we've done all we could do. I want to thank everyone that took the time to rally behind this. All we can do is try and that we did. I would like to thank Joel StGermain for expediting this response from Charlie's peeps. Hi Russ, Sorry for the delay in replying. Unfortunately Charlie will not be able to accept your challenge. Not because we don't think it is a great idea and a great cause but for a couple of other reasons that are not fully publicized. First, ESPN has decided that there will no longer be a $5000 prize. When Charlie is challenged by someone on the show they now come up with their own stakes. Second, ESPN also wants Beat Charlie Moore to focus on other species besides freshwater bass on the show. Sorry to disappoint, but please let us know if we might be able to support (especially here in New England) with things like merchandise, autograph cards, etc Thanks for watching Bob Sylvester Beat Charlie Moore
  4. Only one 300?? I figured a guy like you would talk the folks at Ranger into configuring the first one with dual outboards,....unless of course there's a jet pkg. Enjoy her and be safe!!
  5. Absolutely, what an attitude. Your perspective is uplifting and I've ALWAYS been a believer that smiles heal so keep the humor rolling!!! Ever consider helping coucil some other folks who have the same or similar situations? I can see how your view of your situaution could give a different perspective to some in need, especially younger people who may be more self-conscious. Welcome to the club, if you ever fart in my ear, I'll slice your bag while you sleep.
  6. Well, I know I had no problems with hooksets in my videos with my flip flops,.....KU had no problem with hooksets in his videos wearing his crocs,....we still havn't seen yours tho!!????!! I kid
  7. Oh man,...the place it was at was on a lake,.....with ice fisherman everywhere!!! Killed us,lol The day went great, everything was a success and I made more contacts than I could have ever hoped to. Quantum and Shimano have offered to help as well as a few businesses, and many, many more captains will be available this year. What a great day! And a special kudos to stratosdadri for pulling an all-nighter and throwing a grade A shin dig! Great Job Mike!!
  8. Thanks for the vote of confidence guys, it's been nothing less than a pleasure interacting with all of you. And thanks again to the boss for making it all possible.
  9. I use either North Face Gore-tex sneakers , Teva flip flops or sperry topsiders aqua shoes. Not sure of the model. But the question is Sandals so my closest would be the flip flop. It's only to protect bottom of feet. As close to being barefoot as possible but still being able to walk on stuff.
  10. I'm gonna have to catch a big fish if we are gonna see that! ;D I mean, ....big fish or not, I can pull it off but everyone at home will think we went on a dink-a-thon! lmao
  11. EXCELLENT 5BASS!!!!! NORTH FACE!!! PM Raul We won't be mad if it's Crystal
  12. Well, today is the banquet for our B.A.S.S. chapters up here. Stratosdadri has put alot of effort and time into this production and I hope the day turns out to be a success for him. I get to meet alot of guys today that I know through rep only. Keep in mind, I am much more involved with the saltwater community here at home than the freshwater community. Today will be an opportunity to level that a little bit. I also am a guest speaker, and will be giving thanks to the big hitters who were so very implemental in bringing CAST to New England as well as inviting those folks from neighboring states to get involved. I'm excited to spread the word. So, I posted this in "my outting" because although I'm not casting for fish today, I'll be casting for the kids with hopes of catching a few ears to share our program with. Fighting cabin fever with both fists. Mingling with a bunch of guys in the same boat will be like attending a support group meeting, lol. I'll have some pics and video to post later.
  13. Yup, doesn't have to be a heat wave or even a warm front, stability is a sure trigger.
  14. If I'm alone, I just perch it on the spare seat, works perfectly. If you want to mount it, a common fix is to take the footpad (plate mount that screws to camera) from the tri-pod and epoxy it to a spare seat pedestal post.
  15. 5, looks like a letter to rapala might be in order for that one, if not, I got a guy that can build it for a little extra money but,......you do realize that hat is orange, not red, right? lol
  16. Aye. I'll get a few next week.
  17. 3 inches, you're nuts!!
  18. BOTH! I played hockey for 11 yrs when I was younger, was a base for alot I did in the future with skiing. I get on the ice a few times a year now but rollerblade often. I went down to Providence College's arena one night to skate with the senior mens league thinking this was all guys with jobs that like good exercise and a good game but it wasn't like that at all. It was a melee on the little guy, lol. ME. I got very adept at lowering myself to an oncoming hit, sending the attacker head over heels. This ended in an all out brawl in the parking lot later. So much for good clean fun exercise. I havn't put the pads on since. Senko77 also skates. He currently plays and made states or all-stars or somthing recently.
  19. Dude, you never posted a map!! lol
  20. oh, it's not just the map, when you get there, every inch of the 27,000 acres is like a visual orgasm. 8-)
  21. This place really doesn't work like that. It may come down to where the "clear" water is, which will be wind dependant. Certain coves warm up quicker and produce at different times depending on previous weeks weather, etc. i.e. On one day, the only sight fishing available may be only be in the very backs of certain (N,W,E,S,) facing coves, depending on wind. So pouring on a map full of sunken bridges, roads, fences, timber and countless prime looking areas,......can get frustrating. If you want to "study" to be more prepared, study the lay of the lake for navigational purposes. make notice of the boating channels, etc.
  22. Even nicer chain wallet!! lol You rooster tail throwin northern redneck! ;D
  23. My guy eats anything. I threw in the leftover shiners from our last trip in December and he ate them all but the 1 big one that just won't fit. He's still swimming around in there, scared poopless. lol Even the other ones went 1 at a time with the tail sticking out of his mouth for a good 20 minutes as he crushed away, lol. Leeches, etc, he'll eat em, trust me. Loves night crawlers, moths, flies, fingers, anything you throw in there. Also, when the craw is in the defensive position, that doesn't stop him, he just takes alot longer. He pecks away till the cray is hurt and then he gulps him in. No claws, instant gulp.
