Excellent info GMAN. I am the other end of the spectrum as far as jig fishing goes. Light jigs, spinning gear and long casts. I'll write a segment on my techniques which will compliment GMAN's input quite nicely. Off to work for now, I'll do somthing with it this weekend.

I guess I'm one of the oddballs here. Although I don't use many baits w/ trebles, there is usually a topwater tied on at all times. I put my rods in my car for the ride home and I got sick of tangled rods and lureds stuck in my car seats. I only need to wrap that 1 rod usually but it makes all the difference when seperating them later.

That's awesome RW! We get to see you in yur natural state of mind and on your home water, how cool is that? I'm not going to wish you luck in finding the fish but I will send a shout out to the fish and wish them a little luck, surely you'll make one or two of them into movie stars! Need a C.A.S.T. for kids hat? Have a blast and enjoy your time in the spotlight! (But get used to it, Fork is coming,hehe)

If someone were interested in trying, perhaps trying somthing in their "region" would be the way to go. Posting in the appropriate regional forum for interest. Certain parts of the country have dense pockets of members. Might only be a 10 guy tourny but still fun.

General feel here isn't a competitive one, plus we're just too spread out.

Cabin fever!! It's a tough thing but it looks like lots of folks are finding out where to go to help get over it. RIGHT HERE!! Good call folks, wait till the season starts again, we can be a whacky bunch,lol.

We have 1 particular pattern that we stumbled on a few yrs back and now we look forward to it and it's predictability like it was Christmas again. We have a very shallow (1-3 ft) back cove. Immediately after ice out, we get in that cove and fish jigs non-stop. The fish come in waves, all day. Well, not all day but for the 4-5 hrs of peak warming. They come in size class batches. When we first get back there, there may be 2-10 fish back there and we quickly fish them out. NOW DON'T MOVE!! THIS IS THE KEY!! Hang tight and another class will be arriving shortly. They may be bigger than the last group or they may be smaller but they will all be similar to the others in their group. I have never tried another lure back there other than the 1/8 oz jig. We end up swimming it because of the depth but there is no presentation they don't like, including ripping that jig across 2 ft of water. Crazy stuff. We thought we got lucky the 1st time we accidently noticed these fish. Now, we cruise the lake in the truck constantly looking for that first path through the ice that can get us to that cove. Once we can get in, a nice sunny day and those fish are there,....waiting it would seem, to get hooked. Once that sun reaches it's pinnacle and starts making it's way down, the bite stops cold. We are convinced that the skinny water heats up a good 2-3 degrees warmer than anywhere on the lake. We ASSUME that is the ticket.

Shrimp Spana Kopita shrimp stuffed with a mixture of cream cheese, feta, sundried tomatoes and spinach all wrapped in a phyllo dough pastry triangle Pork & Pears- Marinated pork with a brown sugar demi-glaze. (tastes like the apple sauce is already added) Crab Sauce-Home made marinara with crab claws and cleaned bodies, all cooked together over fettuccinni. New England Lobster Boil- Lobster, steamers, yams, boiler onions, red potato's, Linguica, sausage, corn on the cob, Cod fish. I could go on and on, cooking is one of my major passions.

I finally got my 2 front teeth, Santa's losing it, that request is like 37 yrs old now,....poor guy. Alzheimer's I think,lol. I got to give fishing rods to 7 kids this yr. Some are in my direct family, some are kids of my friends. No excuses next year, I'm building my own Jr. team (look out statosdadri), videos to follow this spring! Merry Christmas everyone!!
