  1. Um,...well,.....me? But only if it's too late at night to grab some coney island weiners
  2. I guess asking for world peace was a bit much, I'd settle for A. Make Avid all better (and all other board members with health issues, thewre are a few out there) B. Bring comfort to all those who lost someone "before their time" (esp. a few of our board members) C. Make CAST for kids unneccesary. We've already lost one of the kids that was at my event and that REALLY made it sink in. Rest her soul. D. Bring answers , if not only for the closure, to families who have lost someone and don't know what happened. I couldn't imagine. And lastly. Ah,..screw it.....world peace.
  3. LMAO,...True New England form,....bustin' chops is our thing, lol. Nice gesture Risk!
  4. You laugh but have you noticed some of the fish those guys are hitting......FROM SHORE!!! It's been awhile since I've been out of the country and for good reason but these guys got me thinking "road trip" in a big way.
  5. First off, good luck to all in these upcoming events. As a staff member, I'll be the 1st to say that we are proud to be represented so strongly by you folks over there. CY- Kick some Butt! Vyron,...I don't have to tell you to,...you will anyway. Dimitri- Welcome to the forum!! Looking forward to getting to know you Europeans a bit better, the more the merrier! But poor Cowie asked a question a few different times and never got an answer. Was That 4.2 caught during a competition? His point was that the fish shown above was a record "competition" bass. In other words, the heaviest bass ever weighed in a tourny. Does anyone know if the 4.2 was caught during a tourny or free fishing?
  6. I'll go with you one night Avid. There is a boat lane right in front of our place and the Stump field on the other side of it is fishable. Most stuff is at night,.....w/ the trolling motor, lol. I wouldn't go very far, just out in front of our place but sure, I'm up for that. Also Matt proved that you can catch a bunch using the aid of the lights on the boat house.
  7. Yes, Lincoln. If you click the hartland homes link above, it gives EVERYTHING you could want to know about the projest. Very cool to have an insider there. As I said before, If I could CHOOSE my calling, I would have Ty's job. Or ANY job associated with this program for that matter. I signed up to help when they hit RI. Anyone else? Let's take the fine example NEbassman has set and get involved!!
  8. Hi-jack I also have amps from Lanzar, MA Audio, JL, Orion and one Arc Amp which is pretty pricey. Let me know if you are looking for used stuff, someone here can probably hook you up. I'm still going to ask for world peace Other than that, I have all the material things I need.
  9. We casught a deer once. We were casting along a bank with super spooks when the deer decided to swim back to the mainland from the island whose edge we were picking apart. Erics casted, line in mid flight and the deer got in front of it. Spook wrapped on his shoulder. The deer freaked out, swimming for the opposite shore. we pegged the t/m and got as close as possible and cut the line. Now,.....Are you saying that a deer, an herbivore,...ATE a crankbait and went fully underwater? I'm not a hunter but I've dealt with a few deer. Getting one fully underwater would require quite a fight with lots of thrashing on the deer's part. I don't know,...I got an tough time with this one. I'll wait for the pics I guess. I don't think someone would throw somthing so nuts out on a board like this one or have somthing this unrealisticly crazy happen that they wouldn't document it.
  10. Cause I got a box full that I don't use. I did catch a stripper once on the rhinestone one but that doesn't count, you can catch them on a $10 bill dangled 2-3 ft above the strike zone, they are too easy to count. Some of the Golden teef series, the "rapper's delight" and "big-E", are heavy and have to be trolled at 6-8 knots, strictly for sailfish but they don't tell you that on the website. Some of the freshwater line has potential, the "snoop Hawgy Hawg" looks trick for shizzle. I don't think the scent on that one is legal however.
  11. Cool. Thanks. Pics and timeline is a great tool.
  12. I'm not picking on the one who said this because I've heard it from LOTS of people over the years. You may think you've never missed one but think of the initial reaction strikes on a buzzbait for example. I've had hundreds of fish over the years hit the buzzbait as the blade makes revolution number 1... and they do not go under water when I throw them. So you may not have missed a fish but you may very well have missed many opportunities to catch fish. Same for some other baits, too. You guys should really think about buying the reels with cranks opposite the hand you cast and hookset with... it will only help you in the long run. Yes, I know there are many people, pros included, who switch hands... but this question comes up often enough that I think most people would benifit from learning to cast or crank with the other hand. It's just not that hard to learn. But this is fishing and 90+% of us fish for recreation... so in the end, do what is comfortable. Absolutely. The only reason some folks still do it that way, now that they make reels in both hands, is because old habits are hard to break. Remember, anyone who is opro most likely spent a huge portion of their life throwing a nbait. Back in the day, B/C's only came in right hand so that is what they learned. Had both been available back then, things would be different. There is no reason to start a bad habit early with the equipment available today. Use the appropriate one ASAP,IMO
  13. Dirk, Got any Bubba-Gums? lmao The first time I tied the mulberry fly, Dirk was eating a huge piece of purple bubbliscious. Looked just like the fly when it was in a wad so that's what we named the fly, The Bubba Gum or A Bubbaliscious, lol.
  14. same thing but different as my grandpappy used to say.
  15. You guys ever see this one? Not humorous but impressive nontheless. Old saying about Whaler is that "even if the boat snapped in 1/2, as long as you got the 1/2 with the motor, you're getting home." Check it out. BOSTON WHALER
  16. that's an i303, special one. I can use ship to shore to hail my buddies on the bay Wouldn't trade it for the world. Extremely durable, water resistant, etc. I hate the small phones, dialing them drives me nuts, lol. The GPS has also come in handy.
  17. Yes, we nicknamed the perch Gorge, a play on George, lol.
  18. Nah,...he used the word "sincere" and he is merely echoing the thoughts of many here, myself included.
  19. Just about everyone I know that has TRUE sponsorship, at a national level, has BEEN contacted BY the sponsors, not the other way around. If you are looking for product sponsorship, often the marketing and or Human Resources are the people you want to call.
  20. Yea, you definately want to spell it right before you approach anyone. Again, read Marcia's post. Explains how important small things like spelling, Oration, etc are a huge deal.
  21. That's true, didn't think about the cost aspect. I guess a better answer would be........................I did. I didn't catch anything though, lol Didn't give it enough chance to be honest.
