Just Dreaming - but it could happen
I would get my partner on the phone and tell him to pick up the tuna locker (5x5x5) at my house with his truck and meet me at the lake. I would also tell him to grab the garden hose while he's there. (for syphoning lake water into locker) I'll hold her till he gets there if need be. State scale is about 12 miles from lake AND THEN BACK IN SHE GOES.

need help starting
I don't get that one, why would they put a hp minimum? Someone afraid to get beat by the guy "rowing"? I can understand a maximum but if you choose to fish at a disadvantage, you should be able to.

Electric Motors jon boat
Seriously though, the bowing is extremely minimal. At first we used 1x1 strips of wood attached to the bottom of the floors, in between where the ribs are. We did this on the 1236 and they ended up falling off. When they fell off, we used the floors anyway and that's when we saw that they really weren't necessary so when we did my boat (red one),we didn't bother adding them and it hasn't been a problem.

The bowing of 3/8 cdx is minimal. All jons have the ribs, they are what make these floors so awesome. The ribs keep the carpeted wood off the floor so when water gets in the boat from anchor, swimming, etc, the floors and essentially, your stuff, don't get wet. The tripping hazard elimination and noise reduction are 2 other main selling points. We have 2 jons. Both have the same wooden floors and work great. Does your boat look like this? (our other one) If it does, I promise these floors will work. Heck, if it's ANY jon Im promise they will work!! This pic shows how we notch out where the rib comes down the side. This helps keep them stable also. Another nice touch is that they lift right out for winter storage, cleaning or to lighten it up to carry if necessary. **Craziest fishing VIDEO EVER!!!** (Link)
There is also another video where it's the noise of the motor that sends them freakin out. These guys are going about 10-15 mph and the fish are jumping in the back of the boat. This video looks like they are feeding on some kind of flying insect that the camera lights have attracted.

They have been popular here in NEw England for years. Somewhat on the inexpensive side, nothing special, just your everyday wire S/B.

Tagging Fish
We fish a private lake and have an extremely detailed fishing log. We track everything and then cross reference the data to do senko brand catch rate comparisons, etc. Over the years I know I have caught some of the same fish repeatedly. Some have markings so it's easy to tell. I plan on tagging this year and adding this huge piece of data into the puzzle. After a few years of tagging, I'm sure we'll start to see patterns just as we did when we started tracking weather, temps, lures, depths, etc. These are the tags I will be using. Very inexpensive and it is applied with a pricing gun type applicator. http://www.aquaticeco.com/index.cfm/fuseaction/product.detail/iid/1386/cid/254 All this info will be released to the marine biology dept at the Univ of RI who are very active in monitoring RI waters. I used to deliver for UPS at the college and befriended a biologist whom I have brought samples to (winter-over stripers with a disease) in the past and he is very excited to see the data as it has accumulated.

Where Is The Best Bass Lake?
I'm thinkin,,."whichever one is under my boat at the moment" I havn't been fortunate enough to fish any of America's warm water impoundments being that I live in RI but I'll be at Fork in March so I'll let you know how that one is on a personal level.

Electric Motors jon boat
Same with ours. It's only a 15-18 ft carry but it's really no problem. This is the reason we use 3/8 cdx instead of 1/2 inch. Each floor weighs maybe 8-10 lbs. I can launch alone still.

Electric Motors jon boat
By referring to hull speed, I assume you mean, maximum speed before breaking plane. If so, that would be apprx 4.5 mph for your boat. I have a 12 heavy gauge and my buddy has a 1236. If you plan on adding floors, the 40 will not get you to max speed. The 55 barely does on my buddies and definately doesn't on mine. I'm not talking heavy floors either, 3/8 cdx carpeted. THIN! I would spend the few bucks and not have to always wonder. I skimped with mine and got the 55 instead of the 82. Guess what I'm buying this spring, lol.

smallmouth
Thw Shimano release boat used at many tournys had been involved in a study to check the longevity of fish released after a tournament and they learned much more than they thought. Fish that were caught over 20 miles away had returned to their home water. Again, as Matt said, we are talking largemouth, not small. Bass are certainly territory related. You'll notice the same fish year after year on the same bed till shes big enough to gain better territory and she disappears and another newbie moves into her old bed. I would think,as an un-educated opinion, that smallies would do the same but the loop in this question is that we are talking about a river, not a lake or pond. Dr. Raul?

Anyone have any pet bass?
When I lived in VT, there was a pond full of 3" stunted bass. I took one home and put it in the 30 gal tank I had along with 30 feeder fish(small goldfish) They were all gone in less than 10 mins and he was all puffed up and fat. 2-3 hrs later, he was skinnier than a toothpic again. I did this again tyhe next day with the feeder fish and same thing. Did that for about a week when I realized that this would be way too expensive to keep as a pet (never mind illegal) A special lisence is required to maintain a gamefish in a private setting. Now this combined with the fact that this fish will never get bigger than 7-8 inches in a 30 gal. tank, convinced me to let him go back at the lake.

Steel Rugged Trailer?????
1- the arm that the wench is on can be moved forward a bit to accomodate a 14' 2- If yours is usable for now (AFTER WELDING) you may want to start shopping around for a used trailer. I got one 2yrs ago for my 16' whaler. Was the next size up from what you are looking at and got it for $125. Lots of deals around here, hopefully there are where you are also.

Can I tow with a ford 6
I pulled my 16 ft whaler with my Jetta for 2 yrs,but I only live down the street from the ramp. Still probably wasn't a great idea. Now I keep it at a slip.

Flyfishing for black bass
There's always the small aggressive males along all the weed fronts during post spawn. Constant action but small fish, any small popper or leech type hair fly works great. 2-5 wt rod floating line fun stuff

electic
or you could just concentrate on fishing, lol. Ipod comes to mind. A car radio can run off your t/m batt. Lots of things you'll need to do and it's really not worth it to kill your batt that quickly. Did you find a strain that likes disco or somthing? I personally, would not want that kind of noise around. In my jon boat, it's hard enough to keep noise to a minimum. My saltwater boat has a radio but we waterski and stuff off of that. When there are lines in the water, the only radio that is on is the ship to shore.

What were they marking?
I didn't see it but if it was on the dashboard console, it was probably aerators for the livewell, but those should be "on" anyway. If it was on a fishfinder or gps looking unit, he was probably marking "waypoints". This simply enters the gps coordinates, at the present time, into memory, essentially "marking" where each fish were caught. Helpful for noticing patterns and also to just plain document where you caught each one.
