  1. Opposite experiences here. After seeing Dirk get his butt handed to him in a pretty big private tourny ($200 entry) via the Eel, I bought one to bust his chops with on the next outing. As a joke, I tied on when he wasn't looking and threw it. 4 lb fish resulted. I continued to hammer the fish as Dirk struggled with a soft plastic bite. I retired it o the wall of fame immediately after, never to be thrown again. Dirk however, has a box of them now. You'll probably see them in the fall video this yr. I know,....there are no polly wogs in the fall,.....tell the bass that
  2. In my opinion, it does. I know that often times, I could pound the bank and grab a handful, but those aren't the fish I'm after. (See quote below) and these fish have learned that safety lies deep, keep it nearby. My personal favorite is a combination of both. A flat.
  3. Mother nature, she's brutal sometimes. What is the main enemy here, salt? I know around here, after a hurricane, many of the trees are "burnt" from all the salt water in the air. What hurts the fisheries the most?
  4. Heal up Elaine Hope you feel better soon.
  5. Yea baby!!! (the building behind you looks awfully familiar.......)
  6. Maybe it's me but I straightened 2 hooks and snapped another this morning. All different fish. 6mph S wind, slight rain. Perfect conditions for wake-baiting. Matt- day late, dollar short Today was the day buddy

  9. 74 and cloudy here in East Greenwich. No signs of Ike yet. Hang tough folks, good luck!!
  10. I'm keeping them all uniform for now as this is one big testing stage. All baits are black with white eye and black eyeball. This way, I know they are hitting the bait, not the finish. When I have some done in finishes, I'll SURELY maske lots of videos. I have 4 different style wake baits so far, for different surface conditions. Slow/chop fast/chop calm/slow calm/fast lowered it on the face They were dead center
  11. Draw the line between farm raised fish for pet stores and a wild gamefish.
  12. Silver Carp, Bring the 7 iron Maybe a wedge too
  13. I don't take you that way Tony, you raise good points and are representing his opinion well. There are just 2 opposite yet firm opinions here.
  14. Picturing your wifes face when you tell her you're going to Cali w/ me for a week,lol,......Even if I were lying, which I'm not, She'd whoop your hindside (and then mine!). I think Robert even said that room got flooded or something anyway,.....so now I'm moving out to sleep on the deck of the Ranger. Sorry Bud, I was gonna suggest that to you before he called but I got dibs. The baits you throw aren't big enough for that state anyway !!!!
  15. Fingers, toes, arms and eyes are crossed...... Hey, just a sidenote, can we start reffering to it as KENTUCKY lake,...not "K-y" Lake? The abbreviated version is giving me the creeps,....I mean,...we're travelling with 100 guys and a handful of women......
  16. Me and power tools,....we have this odd relationship, lol. Belt sander bit me. No worries, I bit it back. Dentist appt is next week. My friends say I'm the only guy that can use a mitre saw as a hammer, saw, screwdriver and measuring instrument,....all in one, lmao. If I have safety glasses on,.....stand outside the property lines for your own protection please. Your families will appreciate the effort : ;D
  17. We remember them all, short, fat, skinny and tall American brothers and sisters fallen,....RIP Prayers for the families left to deal with the aftermath of missing loved ones,.....they need it the most.

  21. The fish don't fight harder there, they're just scared to death of George, lmao!!! They recognize the boat Great report, nice job guiding GW
  22. OK so many of you have been watching my trials and tribulations as I dive head first into swimbaits. There were trials.... and tribulations...... I mean,...Tribulations...... Each time I go experiment with a batch of new baits, some work, some don't, I come back and post a few questions and y'all answer up. Last week, Big M gave me the final piece of the puzzle (Thank You!). The line tie placement. The 4 baits I had out the day before, 2 worked, 2 didn't, 1 of the working ones was only "so-so". I took them out again, moved the line tie and Game friggin' on!!! I brought the same 4 baits and within 1.5 hrs, I had a fish better than 3 lbs on each one!!!! Thanks again to everyone who has helped me figure out what the heck I'm doing. You guys rock!!
  23. Tokyo Tony for President!!!! Republicans........ : Sure, kill it, as long as you have fun. : Susky's point was EDUCATE yourself first. And yes, it IS legal in his state,....with a permit.
