I can understand not diving 12ft in Florida cause of Gators but in Virginia! Did you save the spot on a GPS? If so, I would go back and get it.

Trying To Find A Custom Spinnerbait Maker
I have bought jigs from Mike in the past. I checked his Site out and he doesn't list a 3/4oz spinnerbait. I'll contact Mike about it and if he will make make me a 3/4oz spinnerbait with a single Indiana Blade, then I will be more than happy to buy from him.

Trying To Find A Custom Spinnerbait Maker
Thanks for the replies. I searched through my PayPal and the company that I was looking for is 'Heavy Cover'. The man's name is Eric Gandy. Due to health reasons, he had to shut down. I will give G&G a shout if Eric is no longer makeing spinnerbaits.

Trying To Find A Custom Spinnerbait Maker
I got the name from Bass Resource a while a while back but I can't remember the name. Their website was great. You could order different weights, choose your blade style and size and color, single blades, multiple blades, skirt color etc.

Harder Fighting Fish And Less Targeted.
This is a link to http://www.bowfinanglers.com/bowfininfo.html The map shows a few places in Missouri where Mudfish have been reported. I was looking at the map of Florida and there are other places that I have caught them that aren't listed so just because it might not have any reports where you are, that doesn't mean they aren't there.

Do I Have Enough Rod And Reel For Snook Fishing From The Beach?
Snook, I know that you are a spinning guy. In fact, it's the same way here on the West Central Coast. I will look like an oddball with a baitcaster. I kinda like it that way. I've got my pretty little Calcutta and the other guys have junk that they picked up at WalMart! LOL. I think it was a few years back that Shimano came out with some very nice inshore rods with split cork grips. They were all spinning models, no casting models. The reason was because virtually no one in the Southeast uses baitcasters. If the casting gear doesn't work on the beach, I do have a pretty heavy duty rod made by Star Rods that I can use. It's a 7.5 footer. I also have a 7 footer that is not as stout. Thanks for the help!

Do I Have Enough Rod And Reel For Snook Fishing From The Beach?
Thanks for the info. I will go with your advice and use the 100 and the MH.rod, and if that doesn't work out, then I have an excuse to buy another reel. LOL Thanks again!

Do I Have Enough Rod And Reel For Snook Fishing From The Beach?
I plan on fishing from the beach (Gulf side) for Snook and anything else that might bite. I will be using a Calcutta 100 with 10# or 12# Yo-Zuri Hybrid with a flourocarbon leader. I have a little more than a 100 yards of line with the 10 and 12# lines. The rod is Loomis MBR 783C. That is a 6"6" MH-F rod. I can throw a Super Fluke pretty good with this set-up. I am set on using casting gear and I don't want to use braid. My other rod option is a Loomis MBR844C. This is a 7' H-F. I have thought about getting a Calcutta 200 if my 100 isn't up for the job. I do want to use soft jerkbaits but I don't know if I will be very successful casting a little 5/16oz Super Fluke with the Heavy Action rod. Maybe a different artificial bait? I can throw the Magnum Super Fluke with the Heavy Action rod with no problem. Would Snook hit such a big bait?

Help With Braid, Need A Good Knot
Same here with the Uni Knot. It's the first good knot that I learned how to tie. It's very easy to tie too. Something tell me that ghoti already knows how to tie a Uni Knot.

Baitcasting Reels
You get what you pay for! Fondle a Shimano Calais CL-100A and then a Shimano Curado, pick any model that you like, and you will feel the difference immediately. That's not to say that you have to spend $500.00 to get a top quality reel cause you don't. You can buy a Shimano Calcutta CT100B for less than $200.00 and you will have a reel that is a better built reel than any Curado that has ever been made.

Shimano Calais 200Dc
Have there been any changes to the Calais DC over the years? The reason that I am asking is because a local tackle shop has had one in the display case for years and I am curious if the newer ones have any improvements over the older ones.

Looking To Pair A Rod With A Curado 50E
I also have a Curado 50E and it's mounted on my new G Loomis MBR783C GLX that I got for $283.00 on ebay. Right now, you can buy a new Loomis 783C IMX for $260.00 shipped on ebay. There are some very nice 783's in either the GLX or IMX on ebay if you do the ebay thing. Another Loomis rod that is in your budget that gets a lot of positive reviews in the 7 foot Loomis MBR843C IMX. You can find a real nice GLX version used for lower than your budget and sometimes new for your budget. No offence to hootiebenji, but there is no way that I am buying the GL3 version when I can get an IMX or a GLX for the same money. BTW, I have a GL3 723C and it's not as sweet as the IMX version.

$1K
I don't have any combo that expensive but if I had a $1000.00 in my hand, it wouldn't bother me a bit on spend it on a rod n reel. Just thinking of things that cost me more than a $1000.00 is easy. My bow with all of the accessories, M1A Scout Squad, Bushmaster Gas Piston Upper for my AR. A $1000.00 for top quality gear is a money well spent IMHO!

Spooling Question
I haven't spooled with any flourocarbon yet, but when I do, I will fill my spool with a cheaper line that is is the same diameter or as close as possible to the flourocarbon that I will be using, make several casts with the heaviest best casting lure that is suitable for that particular rod. After a series of casts, I will pull off a little bit extra line, cut the cheap line, tie on the flourocarbon and fill up the spool with the flourocarbon.

My 3 Year Old Grandson Want To Fish??
I still remember the day my dad brought me home a Zebco 33 with my own little tackle box. I was thrilled to say the least. I was also a little older than 3. Probably 5.

Hooligan: Core Question?
I read this on Japan Tackle. As a matter of fact, I ended up stripping a screw trying to take one of the grips off of one of my Calcutta's using the left hand thread method. Wrong!!!! The screws come off regular righty tighty lefty loosy.I just took a grip off of my silver Calcutta 100 using righty tighty lefty loosy. Now my Calcutta 100B was different. I could swear that the original handle that came with it was righty tighty lefty loosy because I stripping the screw on my original handle using the left hand thread method. I bought a replacement on ebay that was advertised for a Calcutta 200 and it is left hand thread.

What Do You Use For A Jig Rod?
I just bought a Loomis BCR875 for punchin. That is what I am using now. I had an opportunity to handle a Loomis FSR904X GL2 last week. When I get the money, I will be getting the IMX version of that rod and it will replace the BCR875 for punchin. For light duty pitchin, I am using my Loomis MBR 844IMX.
