  2. played for 3 yrs in highschool. midfield and attack have you guys tried box lacrosse? its great for killing time during winter.
  3. know exactly what you want and average prices go after the new models for next year come out when they wont go any lower, tell them youre going to check out a few more dealers and start to walk out.
  4. im pretty sure they dont see the senko as an earthworm
  5. id do chronarch on a light bait rod fastest ratio for worms/jigs slowest ratio for cranks i heard the revo is good for heavier baits
  6. id go for the shimano sahara 2500
  7. i have no loyalty. i just dont buy crap rods: g loomis, st. croix, rogue reels: shimano, daiwa
  8. great choice, you'll love it. ive spent thousands of dollars since i found this forum. beware!
  9. spinning is more versatile. id get a shimano sahara or symetre and a fenwick hmg with a fast action or get a st. croix avid (excellent warranty) and use your old reel until you save up enough for another.
  10. id stick with spinning until you get more into fishing and have another $50 to spend. i take it you have a baitcast rod already?
  11. to name a few... the shining easy rider taxi driver deer hunter blade runner the road warrior one flew over the cuckoos nest scarface commando was my favorite movie when i was a kid. i must have watched the betamax tape 50 times
  12. all you need are worms, jigs and a white spinnerbait. i wish i could do that but i too like to switch things up for fun... hate those treble hooks though....
  13. im looking to purchase an avs66mf spinning rod to take with me when i go canoe camping. id like to use it mainly for 1/4oz jigs with small craw trailers does this rod have a fairly stiff tip? should i be looking at another model? thanks -z
  14. i think avids would be the best bang for your buck if ohya.com didnt have preferred customer discounts on loomis' have you checked ebay?
  15. use whatever feels right to you. there is no wrong way. i recently started using left hand retrieve and i like it alot more. especially for pitching jigs. i have better feel of what the bait is doing, find it easier detect bites, and have better lure control holding the rod with my right hand. i still have a few right handed reels that i use for spinnerbaits and cranks but i would not mind replacing them with left hand retrieve.
  16. is it legal to camp on all those islands on the river? im looking at google maps satellite view of halifax to tmi. thanks
  17. id probably consider the 1/4oz bitsy bug with a 3" craw trailer my go-to bait. id like a rod to always have this bait tied on to and was thinking about the bsr 802. i have other rods for fishing cover, so cover is not a concern. im mainly wondering if this rod would be ideal for a 1/4oz jig plus trailer weight. unfortunately i cannot test the rod before purchasing. im thinking this would be a good choice but loomis' lure weight recommendations (1/8-1/4oz) is throwing me off because a 1/4oz jig with trailer is probably closer to 3/8oz... thanks in advance -z
  18. i also use rattles in heavily stained or muddy water. if i start without a rattle and im not getting action ill use one and vice versa. i do not notice as much of a difference in rattle vs no rattle as i do in changing jig size and trailer type/size when measuring number of strikes. you can buy rattles to add to your jigs.
  19. you might want to try posting this question on the tackletour forum. theres quite a few loomis owners there.
  20. i dont think you understand how large the universe is. even if there was life on a planet circling the nearest star to the sun (about 5 light yrs away if i remember correctly) we would probably never know about it. if you believe the earth is 6000 years old, then i dont think i could ever change your thoughts on this however just a friendly discussion... cheers
  21. by saying burned out do you mean the star has burned its fuel and no longer generates light? if a star is 11 light yrs away and it died 10 yrs ago, we'd notice it turn "off" in about 1 year. if our sun suddenly went out we'd know in less than 10 minutes as it is not very far from us. im sure there is life out there. even more intelligent than us. i dont think they've traveled to earth however. its just too far. thousands of intelligent civilizations could have been born and died millions of years before humans ever walked the earth. we might have missed thier transmissions by a few million years. blink of an eye if you think about it.
  22. great beginner jig- 1/4oz bitsy bug jig (green craw) with matching 3 inch trailer (yum craw papi, netbait paca craw, eakins craw....)
  23. roll cast. thats it! from another thread: not sure if its considered "pitching" but it gets the bait in the water quietly and accurately from a short to medium distance. definitely a great cast to learn.
  24. i like the brakes tight for a pitch type cast (underhand loop?). for pitching with the bait in your hand doing a pendulum motion, i dont think the brakes matter as much...
