  1. what size jigs / worm weights will you be using? is this for very heavy cover?
  2. Thanks Wayne P. No need to ask, primitive camping on the lake would be perfect. Im thinking about taking the canoe down there for a few days this spring.
  3. are there any places to camp in the area besides twin lakes state park?
  4. looks like the baitscrotum paid you a visit
  5. i think that or the mbr783 (6.5' version) would be great choices for all around rods. the only thing it wouldnt be great for are cranks because most use moderate or moderdate fast actions for those. but a rod with a mod action is only good for treble hook lures IMO. i use a fast rod for cranks anyways.... Sanother siteBASSER - i think its a 7' rod hes talking about. the 10 after the 7 is part of the line weight rating
  6. this is the best deal ive found on loomis. ive ordered 5 rods from this guy. super fast shipping and great prices. go to www.ohya.com register your email address with them log in with the following username:customer password: preferred look at the prices after youve logged in. free shipping as well. if he doesnt have a rod you want, email him and he can have it shipped directly to you at the same discount prices.
  7. is it possible to float a canoe or kayak south from the bridge on 28 all the way down to bull run marina? i saw a few ponds towards the end on google maps that might be worth a visit. also, how is the fishing on the creek? thanks -z
  8. dude, i think your credibility went down the drain earlier when you said you wouldnt trade your supreme for any other reel shimano reels and mtn bike drive train parts are far from "junk". whats ridiculous is not buying a reel because alot of people love them. dont take it so personally. ZEBCO RULES!!!
  9. another vote for symetre
  10. why dont you let her use one of your rods for a while to see if she likes BC setups? i've never understood getting "beginner" gear in any sport/hobby. you always end up upgrading it in the near future. that being said, from what i've been reading, the citica seems like a great deal.
  11. i have the 8025. i ordered it after hearing good reviews and because of the weight. i prefer my 2008 model shimano symetre. i think it is alot smoother and worth the extra weight.
  12. or you could go with the avid
  13. im planning to do a 4 day 3 night canoe camping trip on the Susquehanna in late march to do some smallmouth fishing. id like recommendations on where to put in and take out and any outfitters you recommend. any online resources would also be a big help. thanks in advance -z
  14. id rent some canoes and do a float down the new river. college kids should be out of town and the smallmouth fishing is great. id put it at radford (claytor dam) Tangent outfitters http://www.newrivertrail.com/?q=node/1 edit: you might get more replys on the southeast forum
  15. if youre talking about the remake that came out a few yrs ago i have to agree its the best zombie movie by far. the first 10 minutes are intense. the scene with the fat lady that dies at the store was great.
  16. save up a little more and get this. check out the warranty on avid rods.
  17. if i only had 3... 7' spinning ml xf (1/8-3/8oz) - dropshot, shakey, split shot, 4 inch t-rig worms, 1/8oz jigs 6.5' spinning m/mh f/xf (3/16-5/8oz) - t-rig, 1/4-5/16oz jigs 6.5-7' baitcast mh f (1/4-3/4) - 3/8-5/8oz jigs, heavy t-rig, spinnerbaits, buzzbaits, crankbaits many would choose a moderate action rod for cranks, but with only 3 rods id just use a fast action. keep in mind, a 5lb fish is pretty big here in VA. FL fishing might require heavier set ups....
  18. spinning - loomis sjr783s, shimano stradic 2500 casting - loomis mbr783c, shimano curado E7 havent had a chance to try my chronarch mg yet but i think its better suited for finesse applications.
  19. id spend the extra $50 for the worm/jig rod. i like a sensitive rod for those apps. for the crank rod, id get mojo or premier. that being said, avid is prob the best value. you can find better deals online with free shipping. ive ordered about 15 rods and never had a problem. most companys pack it very well. check with the online store about replacement if rod is damaged during shipping. if youre interested in a loomis imx for about the same price as the ltb, pm me.
  20. ***, ohya.com, reeds sports cabelas and basspro when they have sales
  21. worm/jig - legend cranking - mojo
  22. you only need 1 rod. its better to have 3 for different weights my main reason for bringing over 3 rods is so that i dont have to keep retying baits when i want to use something else.
