LOZ Heart Break :'( (kind of long and detailed)
From your experience, is there enough light around the docks at night to fish without the help of flourescent line and a blacklight? I personally have never had the need for blacklights at night but I've heard a lot of talk lately about how good that set up is at night.

Please help reccomend a good 6'6" MH Fast Worm Rod
I have the same reel on a 7' MH St Croix Premier and I love it, but I use for spinners. I have an Accurist on a Mojo, 6'6" that has been my T-Rig set-up and I have another Accurist on a St. Croix Tournament and for $60.00, its a nice rod believe it or not. I would go Premier with the PT unless you can afford an Avid.

Any tips on C-Rigs at Lake of the Ozarks?
Planning a trip to LOZ next weekend and I'm told that C-Rig centipedes and big worms have worked real well. Any suggestion for colors on 10" worms, I have used motor oil with success. What about centipedes, any favorite brands? For C-Rigs, I have used toothpicks, are split shots perhaps better? Thanks for any input...

Whats the difference between Mojo Bass and Premier?
Other than the obvious split grip on the Mojo, what's the difference. The blanks appear to be the same....I heard Mojo is made in China, perhaps Premiers are made in the US anything else?

Any opinions of Cabelas XML casting rods?
I just took a 6'6" MH b/c upto a neighborhood park with a lake and the MH seems a tad light action wise to me. I mean it feels good, but I could see making a H action rod work. I would be throwing 1/2 oz. spinners and 1/4 jigs with Baby Paca Craws. They didnt have 7' MH in one piece, so I may go back and exchange it for a 7' H which were in stock as one piece rods.

Any opinions of Cabelas XML casting rods?
I just picked up a 6'6" MH XML. I like it, they didnt have any 7' MH one piece, and the 7' H rods seemed a little too stiff for what I might need this one far. I cant wait to try it, but so far it seems like a perfect deal for a guy like me, I fish mostly ponds and dont have loads of cash right now for high end gear.

Any opinions of Cabelas XML casting rods?
I think I'm gonna head up there. I need one more b/c rig and I bought a nice reel from someone here. I dont have coinage for much more than $69.99 plus the cost of fishing line so... Thanks!!!

Any opinions of Cabelas XML casting rods?
Cabelas has these regularly $139, now $69.00. I need a partner for my 2nd Quantum Accurist, whats the low down on these? I'm on a budget and if I had my choice I would go Avid, but the 'ol lady aint having it!!!!!

Which reels do you own?
(2) Quantum Accurists (1) Quantum PT Burner (1) Shimano Citica (1) President Pflueger spinning combo (1) vintage Pflueger Supreme level winder (1) vintage St Croix fly combo Johnson and Zebco spincasters, mainly for the kids.

Spincast For Bass?
12 years ago I caught a 7 lb bass on a Johnson spincast rig, using a black jointed Jitterbug at night. Since then I have learned that baitcasters are better tools and I've probably caught bass on my baitcasters that I would have missed on a spincast. That being said my father-in-law fishes all the time with Silvercast rigs and catches nice fish, often outfishes me.

Uni knot?
I originally put braid on my medium spinning rig - I've decided I dont care for it, so I will switch. In the meantime I have tied a flouro leader via uni-knot. Some say the line will snap before the knot breaks, others arent big fans at all. Whats the word? How long should me leader be for what is mostly pond fishing? 2 ft perhaps?

We parked in the lot nearest to the lake (not the one near the pavilion) and took one of the trails right near where we parked. We bank fished very close to where the trails lead to the lake, there are quite a few small trees and stick-ups coming up out of the water from the bank out maybe 30 feet. Lost several lures to those buggers, but all worth it to see my son catch that fish! We did the same tonight. We walked up the bank and stopped where the bank turns, there are a couple of tree trunks cut for seats sitting there. My son caught a 14"er on a Mepps. Darn if I couldnt get a bite! Of course I was throwing big lures, spinners, Bagley, Wiggle Wart high risk, high reward. The bass was cold and its' color was real muted, so it appears they havent moved up much at least there. Good times tho.

Looking for opinions on my plan of attack
OK, I have an update on my plan of attack, still looking for opinions from the seasoned pros: Took the advice and here is what I have so far: Quantum PT Burner/St Croix Triumph 6'6" MHF 12 lb Seaguar flouro - this is my spinning rig, love it. Quantum Accurist/Cabelas IM7 6'6" M Moderate tip - 12 lb Seaguar flouro - this is now my crankbait rig and topwater rig. I will replace the flouro with mono I think at some point so top water is more effective. Shimano Citica/St Croix 7' Mojo Bass MHF - 10 lb. Pline CXX (came with the reel) - I have been using this for Texas Rig and 1/4 oz jig heads. Pflueger President combo spinning with Power Pro braid, been using for Rapalas, smaller crankbaits. I will eventually switch to flouro or mono. Quantum Accurist - I just bought this reel in the Flea Market and my goal is set up an exclusive Texas Rig rig, with perhaps another 7' St Croix MH. Does this make sense? Any other ideas considering my plan of attack?

You're killing me! Private lake, county park, where did you land that monster?

St. Croix "MOJO" casting rods what's the word??
It goes back to the price point. For the money its a great rod, I bought a 7' MHF for general purpose and its great. I picked up a Citica from the Flea Market and its been a great combo for me. Again, I'm sure there are better rods, but for the money its a good deal.

Hey Tom, check out Unger if you dont have a boat. Its behind Busch Soccer Park on Yarnell. I was there today (afternoon) and there is ample beach for casting. Of course I didnt get a bite and I lost a $9 Terminator, but it was good to see that there is a local, quick option for me other than Tilles.
