I have had the most success with the husky jerk. I have tried the x-rap a little, but have not caught any on it. Never tried the lucky crafts, makes me nervous to throw that expensive of a lure with all the pike we have here.

I have never tried the cavitron. I had good success with a white Strike King Double Take last summer. I have to admit I felt like I was throwing the kitchen sink with the double blade, but the fish didn't seem to mind .

I remember an episode of his WGFS a while ago where his camera man caught a SMB on Erie that was just shy of the NY state record. They caught so many big SM it was great.

At the Federation level there is no reason not to split trolling motor time. At our last 2 STQ I was stuck with a boater that had all these "great spots". They were not great to say the least. This year the only fish either of us caught were on spots that I the lowly non-boater suggested. If I don't know the area well, or have not pre-fished I let the boater know that and I will leave the decision up to him, but otherwise we pay the same entry fee and I contribute gas money, so why shouldn't I have a say in where we fish >

They added a 51st spot this year for the WBT AOY. I don't have a problem with it. Don't get me wrong when I say this, but are the Federation anglers fishing against as strong as competition as the elites? Yes it is probably better competition that the WBT but I say give them a chance.

I have three of last years model and I love them. Our club just gave away one of the new models, I did not win it :'(. I don't like the look of the matte finish, but if it works like the old model who cares about the looks.

I like to buy two most of the time. I use the 11 year old excuse a lot of the time. He likes to try and buy his own baits most of the time. You should see the smile on his face when he catches a bass on his 50 cent spinnerbait he bought at Wal-Mart.

I try not to force it on him. I just suggest that he try this rod, or that rod. I would just like to see him try different types of reels.

My oldest son is 11 and I have all I can do to get him to try anything other that his spincast. He does not like spinning gear. I did get him to try one of my baitcasters last summer. I am hoping to get him to try different equipment this year.

I had a woman finish ahead of me, in our STQ this past summer. Yes it hurt the ego a little bit, but I need to keep working on my skills.

Yes that is a state launch. This time of year it should not be to busy. It is a mob scence on weekends during the summer with all the pleasure boaters that don't know how to launch or load their boats. It has 4 lanes so even when it is busy you can still launch and load fairly quickly.

Should any one be really suprised that they did away with the BCWC? B.A.S.S. is a business and they were losing money on these events due to a lack of participants. If more of us had signed up teams maybe they would have kept them going. I don't see them doing away with the Federation angelrs in the classic, but maybe I am just blind.
