  1. I love that bait maybe it's a defective one have never had one do that. When you start to retreive it the rod should be high once it gets closer to you lower the rod do your normal pop pause pop pop pause etc. I usually leave it set until the waves disappear especially on the initial cast.
  2. 10lb test should be plenty for most situations. An angler at Black Lake, NY in August of 2006 caught a 52" - 46lb Musky on 12lb test he was out of Camp Carol so you can catch a fish that weighs more than your pound test but you must use caution and your drag to wear out the monster. I use 10lb test on my spinning reels I'm first getting acquainted with modern baitcasters but I'm using 12lb dia. 50lb test on it.
  3. I use the Zoom Horny Toad rather then punch a hole I make'm come to the top. As far as spooking Bass are curious fish and the splash will only get their attention if it where shallow with little cover a loud splash may spook them if it landed on top of or near them. I have caught fish with the Toad and have returned later in the day and caught fish in the same spot.
  4. I agree, Sounds like a good deal for you. The Bass Tracker is the most popular ride in it's class and you will get a lot of enjoyment out of it.
  5. I remove both of mine when I'm trailering and when I'm staying overnight at a Lodge. I too have Ram mounts but I keep mine in Cabela's padded carrying cases made for them. Cabela's used to have both single and double cases I purchased them at the Hamburg, PA store I never did see them on their online store.
  6. That's what I thought you said.
  7. You get what you pay for. The cheap Wally World glasses don't have the UV protection your eyes need get a good pair and you'll be able to see when you get older. Polarizing is only a glare reducer and gives zero UV protection also get something that wraps around the sides as UV will penetrate through the sides. You'll either pay now or you'll pay later with vision loss the choice is yours. IF YOU VALUE YOUR EYES AND YOUR VISION GET A GOOD PAIR.
  8. Thanks guys for the info, Seems this one has a mixed crowd so I did the easy thing and threaded it through the holes in the spool with 12lb dia. 50lb test I doubt I'll get spooled. I'm using it for heavy cover and med. to large swimbaits.
  9. Try Cabela's Ripcord Si or Si Plus. I 've tried some of the fore mentioned and these have worked the best for me.
  10. PERMA GRIN!!!!! Doesn't get any better than that.
  11. I have found that it takes longer with everything hooked up as the charge migrates through the entire system and some amps are lost through friction loss if time isn't an issue then by all means leave it all hooked up.
  12. Some have to be plugged into a 110v outlet and some work off the boats alternator charging the batteries as you run the main motor. I have a Dual Pro 2 banks by 10amps each that has to be plugged in a 110 outlet the choice is yours. My motor has a motorcycle type charging system and I was advised by the dealer not to use on fly chargers but if you have a motor that has an alternator that may be the way to go.
  13. Nice boat, Congrats on the acquisiton.
  14. WELCOME. Congrats on the catch.
  15. Aa the old saying goes..... One Man's garbage is another Man's treasure. Congrats on the find.
  16. WELCOME. Awesome fish.
  17. Is it BS? I have heard to many stories of the SS prop doing that. The aluminum does have more give and damage to the shaft may not occur as with the SS prop but with all that I run a SS prop and use the aluminum one the came with the boat as a back up. There's a rubber bushing in SS prop that's supposed to break loose the prop but the dealer that installed it told me he's never seen one ever work out that way. Keep in mind that it's how hard or how fast you hit something that will detrmine the amount of damage.
  18. ALSO!!!! I think Newton's law of gravity has to figure in it somewhere as well as Einstein's theory of Relativity. Sounds like someone has to much time on their hands to do all that math.
  19. Zoom Horny Toads, I haven't used a color that Bass didn't like.
  20. That's part of Bubba's dinner.
  21. Great job, Thanks for the info.
