  1. It's been about 15 years since we've had such a warm winter. It's going to be mid-60's and sunny this week. I'm going to have to mow the lawn....the 3rd time since Thanksgiving.
  2. Nah, don't shoot the messenger. Pretty much everyone is thinking it, if not saying it out loud. It doesn't require the world's most vivid imagination to make the connection. If they truly are behind this, in any capacity, it would certainly fit their M.O. And if they thought it would demoralize the team and fans, it's done the exact opposite. It's backfiring spectacularly, as the Patriots have now given Seattle (who is heavily favored going into the game) some legitimate material to rally around. Something to make them feel as if outside forces are conspiring to derail them from the inside out. The punishment will be delivered this Sunday.
  3. Actually, the Seahawk organization released this statement a few hours after the rumor started: fyi, while Paul Allen's will requires the proceeds of the sale of his teams to go to charity, there are no timelines or deadlines. It's widely speculated the sale of the Hawks will be 10-20 years from now.
  4. It's not an epiphany. I couldn't change it with the previous versions of the forums. Now I can, plus I can add more (looking into that).
  5. Ya, I didn't think a heart icon worked for "like", so I changed it.
  6. This might be useful: ...wait, I don't use summer or winter air in my tires. I just use spring air to give them more bounce.
  7. Given your choices, the InvizX is the most versatile and castable. Like others have said though, 15lb is ideal.
  8. February is prime time for catching the biggest bass of the entire year—the heavy females staging before the spawn. In this breakdown, Glenn May explains exactly how to read the weather, track fish movements, pick the right baits, and locate the offshore and transition zones big bass use every February.
  9. Want to show bass something different? Check out these cutting-edge JDM baits and trends U.S. anglers are starting to use. https://www.bassresource.com/fishing/JDM-lure-trends.html
  10. True, but they're crying wolf (again) that we're going to have a drought due to low snowpack in the mountains. LOL! I swear they dig up that same story every year about this time. It's like clockwork. Then the spring rains and more flooding come. It's what I call "The news making up news" We haven't had a true drought since the mid-70's.
  11. No, it's not for sale. It's just a baseless rumor.
  12. Early spring bass fishing success starts before launch day. Use this checklist to prep your boat, gear, batteries, and safety equipment. https://www.bassresource.com/fishing/pre-season-boat-maintenance.html
  13. It's a common misconception that bass MUST be fizzed if you catch them deep. Not true. You may have caught a bass that followed the bait down, or recently moved to deeper water, and does not need to be fizzed. Only fizz a bass if they have difficulty swimming upright. If you're a tournament angler and see deep-caught bass struggling in the livewell, fizz them and add Catch & Release formula to the water. If you immediately release a bass and he struggles on the surface (this rarely happens), nab him with a net and fizz him. Here's the proper way to fizz bass: btw, I've caught a lot of bass 45-55' deep, and even a few in 70'.
  14. We had our first rain in 2 weeks today. Mid-40's for temps. It's supposed to hit 60 this weekend and all next week. It's extremely unusual weather here. Typically it's raining and in the low 40's at best, usually snowing, really. This is the first winter in over 10 years where we haven't had prolonged freezing temps.
  15. Ha! I wish! That one belongs to Dean Rojas.
  16. If you want to get better at placing lures quietly and precisely where big bass live, this video is your complete flipping & pitching guide.
  17. Welcome to the family! We're glad you're here.
  18. Suzuki Stealth outboard with matching boat wrap. Now that's badass!
  19. Bassmaster Elite Series pro Drew Benton breaks down his go-to worm technique for winter bass fishing—and it’s one you might be sleeping on.
  20. I've been using the Hideup versions. I've tried a variety of rigs, but using a nail weight and fishing them like a worm or jig has been the most productive for me.
  21. I mean...I don't want to sound cocky or overconfident. The Patriots are a great team, and Vrabel....woa! That dude is on another level. He has me concerned about the Superbowl. The Pats are going to put up a fight. However... The Pats never played an NFC West team this year - clearly the dominant division in the NFL. And THREE teams from the NFC West made the playoffs. PLUS, the Seahawks had to play AND beat all of those teams during the regular season AND two of them in the playoffs (the only team EVER to face its rivals at least 3 times each in a season) to make it to the Superbowl. The work isn't done yet. The Hawks have to focus and play their game and keep their foot on the pedal. But the Pats just aren't on the same level, even though they have an Ace in their pocket (Vrabel). They haven't faced a battle-tested, seasoned opponent like the Seahawks. And they have a vendetta. I'm not making any predictions, but the Pats have their work cut out for them if they're going to get the upset.
  22. Oh don't get me wrong, I grew up on pistol grips. monofilament, and round 4.6:1 "fast" reels. LOL I prefer today's equipment. Those pistol grips wore my wrists out.
