I've yet to hear anyone have any issues with St. Croix's replacement warranty. I don't understand why somebody would buy something with a great warranty and customer service, and then not use them when they need to. "Nah, let's post pics and complain on the interweb instead!" btw I have 6 St. Croix rods, some for several years...no problems.

You know I'm in Seattle, land of coffee. There's a TON of coffee stands and coffee shops in Washington. It's crazy. So to beat the competition, one company offered latte's for $1.50 when everyone else was at least twice that amount (most were triple). You'd think people would flock to them. But the surprise was that people avoided them instead. The reason? Perceived quality. People just assumed the $1.50 latte was inferior and tasted bad compared to the more expensive competitors. So you know what they did? They doubled the price to $3. Sales skyrocketed. It was the exact same coffee. Why did this happen? Consumers perceive high-priced lattes as "luxury" items. A premium price point actually increased the perceived value, as the brain often accepts higher prices for perceived quality. And the opposite for lower prices. This is what has happened to KastKing. Often, it's the guys who have never tried a KastKing reel that are the ones bashing them, because of perceived quality. And even for the folks who have tried them are pleasantly surprised at such a good reel because they were expecting something lesser due to the price.

I got a KastKing baitcaster 6 years ago and it's still going strong. Pretty good reel. I have options to swap it out with something newer, but there's really no reason.

No. Daiwa doesn't let media folks like me try their gear. Full disclosure: Shimano/G-Loomis keeps saying they will, but it seems they're always short on stock. Abu/Okuma/St.Croix/Seviin provide select gear sometimes. I'm saying that not pan anyone - just letting y'all know I don't get to try every product on the market. Maybe if I had more Youtube/Instagram subs. LOL I'm pretty sure this was Svivlo's 3rd year at ICAST. And after a lot of scoffing and people calling BS, they invited the media to "kick the tires", so to speak, and see for themselves their claims are true.

Yes, not only have I heard of it, I've tried it. And.....ya, it's very difficult to backlash it. I was at the casting pool at ICAST last summer, and was skipping swimbaits with it without using ANY thumb at all (completely lifted off the reel). I also made bomb casts, again without touching the spool. Most casts didn't backlash. No seriously. It didn't backlash. I literally had to pound the lure in a skip, or throw really hard to make it backlash a little. Enough to pull out line a bit to clear it, but nothing major. The drawback? The system restricts the spool such that casting distance is affected somewhat. Plus it takes a bit more effort to pitch or cast the same distance you would with other reels. It's like casting with the brakes on a bit too much. It's not a huge difference, but it is noticable. And yes, you can thumb it just like you do any other reel. Other than that, I was impressed. It was remarkable how it wouldn't backlash skipping baits without touching the spool. I just shook my head with a grin.

I've been fishing tubes ever since they came out in the 80's. They were a Western finesse bait at first, so I was fishing them before they became mainstream. I still fish them today on a regular basis. As a matter of fact, I have 3 rods rigged up right now in my boat (split shot, jig head, T-Rigged for flipping). It's been pretty much like that year round for decades. Whether smallmouth or largemouth, the tube almost always produces for me. Frankly, your browser shouldn't have had any issues with the update. The forums are working fine. That said, @12poundbass Your current browser is 146.0.7680.151 and the latest version for your iPhone is 147.0.7727.11 You're very much out-of-date. @Jig Man and @Scott F Your browsers are current. However, clearing cache is tricky and often folks don't get it all cleared like they thought. I suggest looking at YouTube vids to find a few tricks to completely clear it out - and even clearing your OS cache helps sometimes. 3 people, all have different browser/OS configurations and different model phones. Everybody's personal system has its unique quirks. There's also people that use VPN's, IP anonymizers, ad-blockers, strict anti-virus settings and more. There's just too many different variables. The forums are working fine, so I cannot provide any further technical assistance. I suggest turning off those programs 1-by-1 to isolate the issue on your particular device, or whitelisting Bassresource.com.
