Braid for crankbaits?
It's a good question. Mind you, there's no absolutes in fishing, nor is anything really. I mean, which is better, a crescent wrench or box wrench? No doubt somebody would chime in and say socket wrenches are better suited in certain situations. Then some other person will say, "Heck, I use pliers for everything and they work just fine for me!" Is any of them "wrong"? Not really. It's simply a matter of your tolerance level for any drawbacks of each tool under different use cases. Not one line is the "best" for everything, IMO. So for ME, I have specific uses for each type of line (braid, mono, fluoro, and braid). They're tools, and I choose each tool based on the job that needs to be done.

Braid for crankbaits?
As soon as some dude on U-tube tells you that you have to change rod, reel, hooksets, presentations, etc due to the line....that's a clear indication you shouldn't be using that line. I don't use braid on crankbaits. Buoyancy is one good reason, no stretch is another, line visibility is another, fluorocarbon is better than braid in rocks is another.... I've said it so many times before, but it's worth repeating again: braid is not an all-purpose line. It definitely has tactics where it shines, but crankbait fishing isn't one of them.

Winter 2021/22
Snow/hail again today, just like it's been every day for 2 weeks now. WX records are breaking every day with new low temps and snowfall. Unbelievable. Normally it's 55-65 degrees this time of year. We're about 20 below average right now. If it weren't for the calendar, you'd think it's January. The fishing has been extremely tough, to say the least!

Sorry to hear your friend is going through this. It's tough, it really is. I hope she heals and doesn't have any lasting effects that manifest as she matures. Hang in there. Modern medicine is incredible. I know it looks bad right now, but know she's in good hands.

Any T-Mobile Users In Our Community?
It's been downhill since T-Mobile merged with Sprint. The mentality and chaos that sunk Sprint has infested T-Mobile. Doesn't help that they laid off over 5,000 seasoned professionals shortly after the merger was finalized (despite the previous claims they wouldn't lay anyone off), creating huge voids in leadership and tribal knowledge that can never be filled. Remember when T-Mobile was breaking the rules and doing things that forced the industry to change (The Uncarrier)? It's been pure crickets since the merger with Sprint. Those days are over. It's only a matter of time before they, too, circle the drain. Their stock has been floundering while the NASDAQ has been gaining, with many "experts" advising to sell, or lowering its rating.

Fishermen rescue teen girls
Keri and I helped a couple of kayakers who had fallen out and couldn't get back into their yaks. One was a 70+ yr old gentleman. He fell out, and when the other tried to help him, he fell in too. We have our rescue on video, but the batteries died before they paddled off. But it does get to the point where we got them to shallow water so they could get back in. Anyone interested in seeing that?

We've been hearing a lot of good things about this motor.
Yup, you already know it's a 4-stroke that delivers power and fuel economy that rivals any 2-stroke. But did you know about the drive-by-wire system? It's an electronic shift and throttle system that integrates with Suzuki’s Digital Pro-Pedal Foot Throttle, just like today's new cars. No more broken cables! http://www.suzukimarine.com/
