Pickleball originated in Seattle, and was recently named the official sport of Washington state. So it's been around there the longest....and competition can be fierce. However really the sport isn't so much for the competition as it is for the enjoyment, comradery, and exercise - kinda like bowling is for most of us. So you likely played with that crowd, rather than the competition crowd. My sister and brother-in-law are very competitive and very good at it. There are entire picketball leagues now. The people that play on those leagues would humble you on a moments notice and not feel bad about it at all. So if you want the competition, it's out there. But you have to go find it.

Fishing is supposed to be fun. In the past, I've had days with confrontations, and even if I caught a bunch of toads that day, I only remember the confrontation. I won't let that happen again. These things aren't worth spoiling good memories. "Be the better man" , "Turning the other cheek", "Enabling poor behavior", whatever you want to call it. I just won't let somebody else ruin my day on the water.

LOL! Yup, every year in late January "they" say we're going to have a drought. And then we get hammered by nonstop rain and flooding for the next 3 months. It's like clockwork. I mean, every year! As for the snow we're getting now, while not a first, it is the first time measurable snowfall has occurred this late in over 80 years.

Sooo.... the past 2 weekends, we've had everything nature can throw at us: Heavy rains, snow, sleet, hail, sun, and high winds (w/power outages and flooding). Often it comes in waves all on the same day - experiencing all 4 seasons within hours. The mountain passes have been closed for multiple car wrecks and compact snow and ice (which only happens during the winter.....it happened today!) Basically, both weekends have been havoc. And last Thursday? Sunny and 73. This next week is going to be wet, stormy, and very cold all week - typical winter weather. Spring be like:
