Three second fish memory 'just rubbish'
I removed my posts and those related to it. It seems my posts were taken wrong and offended a few folks. I offered an apology with an explanation, which wasn't accepted. Reading through those posts, all they did was disrupt an otherwise great discussion, so I removed them in the spirit of keeping it on topic. Apologies if THAT offends you to, but I don't want to hear it. Now, back to the discussion at hand....

I just signed up and WOW. What happened to working and buying your own stuff?
Oh I absolutely agree! There's no way you can possibly market to a demographic without knowing their needs, wants, lifestyle, influences in decision making, and so on. This is precisely why companies develop "personas" for specific segments in order to help them understand who it is they're focusing on. I won't get into all the boring details, but this is precisely why the same product is marketing differently say on MTV than on Nightline.

I cut out about 50 of them to reduce the problems with viewing the all at once. Enjoy!

I'm now a Corporate cog
Hey man, I hear ya. Every year we are REQUIRED to take several online courses on everything from "proper conduct" in the workplace to protecting customer information, ethics, expense accounts, company secrets, you name it. It's a gambut of basic common sense courses that's essentially a waste of time for anyone with good morals and good head on their shoulders. Welcome to the corporate world! :

Well each generation has it's own set of nuances. Not necessarily bad, mind you. Just different. I could really go on and on about the 18-24 demographic, but I won't. At a high level, it boils down to this: - Social and connected. Often using technology to keep in touch with family and friends. - Acclimated to getting what they want. Rejection is not an option. - Relies on peer opinions/recommendations moreso than official reviews. - Less resistant to change and innovation. - Feels a sense of entitlement to the goals they want. There's a lot more, but the point is they are different than us "older folks". Again, not a critism is any sense. It's just a state of the union. I bring this up because it isn't an apples-to-apples comparison when looking back to when you were their age. And as a disclaimer: These are basic generalities. I'm positive there are exceptions to the above, so don't jump on here to exclaim you're not like that. Im just saying from a marketing perspective, this is the persona that is often the result of heavy industry studies.

Smilies
I was wondering when somebody would notice! But I think I may have overdone it. I added 300 new smilies, which may tax some people's systems due to all the animated images. I may have to pare them back a little.

The Worst Play In The History of Football
Interesting debate, but does it really matter? I mean seriously, whatever happened in the playoffs regarding the Vikings, everyone would have blamed Farve anyway. Let's look at the scenarios: Vikings loose the NFV championship - it's Farve's fault. Vikings win the NFC championship - it's because of Farve. Vikings win the Superbowl - it's because of Farve. Nevermind there was another team playing in the championship. : I personally have nothing but respect for the guy. But I'm glad he's out of the picture. This is a TEAM sport, not a one-man-band. And I think his presence takes the spotlight away from the other talented athletes on the team. At least the Saints are more balanced in that respect. I'd much rather see a TEAM win the Superbowl, than a quarterback. Which is why I'm rooting for the Saints to win it all!!

WHERE WILL BE THE NEXT WORLD RECORD SMALLMOUTH BASS
Well RW, 8th largest smallmouth record amounts to A LOT. And a 9 lb 4oz smallie was caught a few years ago, but it wasn't certified correctly, so the old record stands. That said, it's been said that a 13 pounder was shocked up during a creel survey recently in the Columbia. So yes, it's entirely feasible the next world record smallie could come from the Columbia river.

1st boat purchase advice
Get the largest boat you can afford. Banks, Potholes, and especially the Columbia can get pretty hairy when the wind kicks up, and that's when you'll be thankful for the larger boat. Since you're in Spokane, make a short trip over to Spokane Valley Marine. They usually have a great selection of new and used boats to choose from. Whichever boat you decide on, make sure you thoroughly read the manuals and understand how to operate and maintain your equipment. I knew a guy once who bought a used boat and then blew the motor a month later because he didn't realize he had to add oil to the gas tank for that particular model.
