Hey Fellas: The other 1/2 of 2 mooks in a boat tried his hand at baitcasting last night.He had a relatively easy time learning on a Cabela's Prodigy sent his way from LBH! He practiced for a bit then we went out on the lake and he tied a 5/8 ouce Jitterbug on and I put him over a weedbed, and several casts later: There were 2 boats on the lake one was us the other boat was about 150 yars away, but I am sure they heard the HOLY @$#%! as loud as I did The boil, the woosh and the lure was out of sight and the fight was on . He landed a 17 inch ,3# LMB. Well sir Bait Monkey now he wants to go buy a new Diawa , and some top water lures. Picture was taken on a WalMart disposable if he ever gets it developed pic will follow, I would expect sometime early December :

Glad to see a good tone and some tolerance. I never keep fish because I don't like cleaning them I do eat bass and have a great recipie. We all have to share the water and the fish. A lot of big fish hunters and tourny guys don't keep fiush because the big fish represent thier potential to win, or catch the bigger fish I see nothing wrong if a licenced fisherman keeps fish for the pan within the legal bag limits of the waters he is fishing. It is as ethical as hunting for food. In many cases it will help a body of water to do this.

Hey Dave the searoach is the little black crawlie thingy by the V of the stick. There are more pics avaiable and they do come in gray and larger sized, they are thier West Coast Cousins! The gray things in the photo look like some kind of barnacle to me

I have been having excellent results with BPS Pear Shaped Jig Heads ( with the spring screw) of Lucky Strike Shakey Heads with a 3.5 *** Brush Bug, hook buried in the bait in Watermelon/purple swirl.

Could you maybe apply for some jobs with the Vermont fish and wildlife. Seems we can't get may trout to spawn except maybe brookies in the relatively undisturbed mountain streams. If Vt is like PA a lot if not most of the stocked trout are sterile. I have seen Northern Strain LMB feed heavily on 10 to 12 inch trout in NYC Watershead Resivoirs, many times.
