  1. I am sitting pat with my Trions, however ABU did shake things up a bit when they went to their Revos
  2. then it would be a garcia with better brakes. Yeah, that's about likely. Shimanos wear Revo pajamas and fall asleep to Revo night-lites Even though I am a Pflueger fan, ABU did start the trend in current day Low Profle reels with the Revo line, now everyone else, including the Holy Grail SheManos jumped on the bandwagon after they were so sucessful
  3. Hy Big Bass Guys: Question, in seaching the web, of state records an such : Would you say that a good portion of States Records and large bass are taken on LIVE BAIT, instead of artificials, with Large Shiners and Crawfish doing thier share of the damage?
  4. If we are to believe Hannon, give me a break. This is the part of this big bass stuff that puts a pain in my psyche. Not all do, but another angler will put up a big fish, then comes the biological arguments, photographic detective work and general disparaging remarks. Where is the documentation of all the big fish , everyone has caught. This is the part of the big bass game, that I really dislike
  5. I am with you Avid. If they ain't there, you can't catch em. I don't fish for size or competition, it is not why I love this sport. Fourbizzle,Fish Chris are at that game, and while I enjoy reading their posts and respect their niche, it is not why I fish. I fish to spend time with my closest friends and escape the pressures and competition of daily life in the business world. The feeling I get from fishing, has not changed much from the time I was a kid, chasing Snapper Blues, with spearing and bluegills with night crawlers. If I catch a 10 lbr, it would be a miracle, never mind luck I do not attach any status to the size of fish caught for me it is how a man acts in his community and family that counts. Fishing is my sport and escape, it is not how I define myself.
  6. Thanks Catt; "between my ears" has become my mantra! I found that I love a certain rod and reel combo, and that is all I own now. 2 in MH and 2 in Med, I stopped the constant upgrade fever, it was getting me no where. I learned how to use jigs last 2 seasons, and have read every post about structure and cover you and Matt have put up, among the most useful here' Me and Bruce just purchased a Garmin 160 and my next few seasons will be spent using this in correlation to Perry's book. Just because it is older info, does not mean it is useless.I have made arrangements for a couple of members here that I fish with, to spend boat time getting some hands on experience with this unit.
  7. my Top psychic: BERNIE MADOFF; he predicted he would get rich at everyone else's expense All the con artists ( let's call them what they are) are good at one thing, reading people and exploiting their weakness'. They ask stock questions, much like an interrogator is trained to do, then use that info to take a shot gun approach until they hit pay dirt. Then the women starts crying " Why yes, my Benji was a gray little dog" One of the oldest and more successful con rackets of all times.
  8. Cool question, we were just having this discussion locally! My take; with low profile reels and rods over 6 foot, the fighting angle and hooking leverage is plain easier with the trigger handles.
  9. Quote:It seems strange that she's dead. Kind of makes me grateful , that us oldtimers are still here to enjoy eachother's lives 8-)
  10. Pflueger Trions , 100 bucks
  11. Happy Birthday, I wish your high school buddy, Moses was still here to share this day with you
  12. Most of the time an older gay guy with a drug problem or some women with far away eyes. They can talk to dead people and get lots of money from people who are hurting and way too believing. I go with the old standby: Prayer, always works for me
  13. How can you be busy at work, with your eyes closed? I am off to Brooklyn, Have a good holiday Mook!
  14. Knowing the industry, he probably got a doctor to give him a clean bill of health to get the necessary insurance for his upcoming shows. He has been broke for a long time . Anesthesia and maybe anorexia played havoc with him, it is no wonder his heart gave out

Hey Dan; I have no idea what the powers to be are up to, I am not one for paranoia, it's their game ( all of them, USA too) let them play it out. We never really know what's going on anyway I remember as a child, the air raid sirens going off, and we had to go to public shelters and hide under our desks, it was pretty scary for a 9 year old. My hope is someday we will get to the point where a 9 year old is safe from all of this insanity. If you get a chance listen to Bob Dylan's Masters of War, he says it so much better than I.
  16. Thank's Glenn, I am going out with RobZ when I get back on the 6th, to make sure I have it together
  17. Ed McMahon passed away yesterday thats 3.

My ex is Jewish and so is my daughter, I have listened to my former mother in law for years. I believe it is time for Iraq and Israel to stand on their own two feet. Check this out, a good amount of domestic espionage cases are against Israeli Agents, who are supposed to be our Allies If these countries want to keep fighting the Crusades then let them kill each other and leave our kids out of it. Neither side has shown anything approaching rational behavior in search of a peaceful settlement

North Korea giving weapons to terrorists is no where near the same as the United States supplying the Mujaheddin with weapons to PROTECT THEIR OWN COUNTRY FROM SOVIET INVASION. Not to mention, there is a HUGE difference between selling someone conventional weapons and selling someone nukes... And yes we SELL stuff to the Israelis but they are already vastly superior to their neighbors because they have a much stronger economy. I think it's a pretty big assumption to say that without our help they would have been "whipped" considering how badly they have whipped multiple countries at a time. And what about the 1948 Arab Israeli war? How much help could we have been giving them at that time?--and they still defeated almost ALL of their neighbors. BUT, I do agree with you. We shouldn't be taking NK so lightly. It really would be a nasty conflict. NK has a very strong army. They aren't necessarily modern but they have large numbers and are heavily armed. The one thing that makes them weak is that their economy is so bad that the wouldn't be able to sustain any sort of prolonged conflict. The soldiers would probably end up starving if an opponent just stretched a conflict out. T\ Dan : The us has traded drugs for weapons in Central America ( CIA Contra gate scandal) , supplied Cuban Exiles trying to topple Castro and several African regimes , to keep them out of Muslim Control. I have no opinion either way, as I have no expertise in this area, seems to make sense that if one country is funded powers favorable to them, then the US should do it to help protect our interests.

The Monroe doctrine has to do with our much closer neighbors. This would be more of a Anti Nuclear Proliferation issue
  21. Why couldn't this have been cats?????????
  22. I used to believe this also, it could not be farther than the truth. I changed my mind about this when I started fishing deeper water, structure and what not. I have caught many more bass, and Larger fish with a jig, and a plastic stuck to it, than I every caught on any free falling bait. * There are times when free fall is better, but for the most part when fishing deeper water the jig and t rig out fishes it
  23. Hey Fellas: Me and Bruce just received a Garmin 160 we bought form Cart7, as always it came with box, literature, he threw in transducer bracket all for the 60 bucks he asked I have bought numerous reels from him, some for personal use, most found their way into the Giveaway, ALL OF THEM WERE IN BETTER CONDITION THAN HE DESCRIBED, if you see him selling something you want on the Flea Market, I would strongly suggest you deal with him.
  24. Wait, let me check my Horoscope first
