Hey Dan: Murdock through a hissy fit when the Democrats blocked him from owning the Post, and the major radio and TV station in NYC, he has been on a tear against them since. FOX, has given us these gems A supposed newscast from ENGLAND that was reporting the World Trade bombings before they happened>>>Proved False The only exclusive pictures of the non existent WMD's in Iraq Helped leak an active CIA Agents identity That puts them somewhere just over wikipedia for me. The other networks and current newspapers arent much better, everyone trying to slant the news their way. I use wikipedia, for pointing me in the direction for my music bio directions, but that is all I count on them for. I know by how you write you are well read and you and I just see opposite sides of the fence, it makes things interesting and I enjoy it.

I wasn't trying to hurt your feelings old man. My point is that you expect everyone to believe you as a source when Wikipedia is as good as any source out there. If you've ever looked at Wikipedia then you would know that authors most of time list their sources at the bottoms of the pages. All you have to do is click on the links, and there is your source. It's not magic, and its not all made up. I wasn't asking anyone to take what I said on face value, a few posts back I put a link up that was a comprehensive GOOGLE SEARCH, it contained the actual law on the Federal Government site, a few scholastic papers and such. That is what I use as well as NETSCAPE, for peer reviewed articles and thesis papers. I have refrained from answering you for months and I am going back to doing so OLDMAN remarks and such are just plain disrespectful.

Hey they said the same thing when the Italians got here, they even swung Sacco and Vanzetti from a rope, and they were later proved innocent! How would you feel if your wave of immigration was determined to be the breaking point. Go look as each group has come here, you can find many newspaper accounts similar to what we see now. Whites are soon to be the minority here, guess that has a few folks shaken up

As study has shown that Wikipedia is almost as accurate as the Encyclopedia Britannica It is not considered a credible source, by any university, as it can be easily edited with false documentation. This is true for St.Johns, GWU,Johns Hopkins and NYU, those are the ones I know for sure. If it is not good enough for accredited and highly respected Universities, it is not good enough for me to accept as proof of a counterpoint. Yeah I'm pretty sure Dan knows this... The point is that Wikipedia can most likely be trusted. I think Dan can speak for himself and it is not a reputable soucre, period.

Many of us have relatives who came here from Europe, illegally and then naturalized, I guess you just slapped some of our ancestors in the puss mook :-/ By The Way: this law, from 1966 Welcomes these folks in it's language and tone, so for this group of Political Refugees I do not know if they are considered Illegal,Can someone help out on this?

Fox is ac credible as Wikipedia, if this story was truely generated by Fox. Look, after the Bay Of Pigs fiasco, the government had real Truman Doctrine issues going on with CUBA, brought to the forefront with the Missile Crisis. They had to do more than the embargo and the most cost effective thing to do was to promote people to leave Cuba. This is how we got those populations of Cubans, who became citizens here in both Miami and Jersey City. The government was trying to undermine Castro, forcing the Cubans to spend a lot of money they did not have,so they could try to stop their people from leaving. It was a different time and the Cuban issue was large from Eisenhower, through Kennedy all the way to LBJ. They were paying a lot in Viet Nam, so this was a good policy. There was a little over a billion, paid out in various programs to these political refugees, who in the long run made some really wonderful contributions , as naturalized citizens up this way in Jersey City
  22. Hey FBL; I will make it a point to stop at the FOUR SEASONS , tackle shop in Jim Thorpe, on the way to the Chunk this week, they are a gold mine of discontinued colors

That makes three of us Glenn. There was a window in there, where financial assistance was given, I do not know the specifics. Here is link to Google Search of:Cuban refugee adjustment act of 1966\ http://www.google.com/search?hl=en&q=cuban+refugee+adjustment+act+of+1966&btnG=Google+Search&aq=f&oq=&aqi= Don't trust the wikipedi source , there are direct links and a great paper explaining it's intent and overall effect For those of us old enough to remember this it was a pretty intense moment in history. From the Bay of Pigs and the Missile Crisis to CIA plots of planting exploding cigars and itchy powder in the beard of Castro!! There was a plan to get as many Cuban Nationals on US soil and train them also. None of these things ever worked or panned out,.

This is a left over policy ( Mind you if this is true, this is the Internet), from the cold war days. It served 2 purposes to encourage defection and embarrass Castro and it helped these "political refugees" get on their feet. This goes way back to the late 50's/early 60's. If this is true and this policy is actually still in place.

Hey Dan. it's cool, just a discussion. Old guys have a lot of time to think and talk, and a lifetimes experience to draw from 8-)
