  5. Forget a collapsable hook idea; A rake like this in the shallows works great
  6. I thought that's how you work the foot controlled trolling motor
  7. Want to do something positive; here is what our club does We bring other folks trash to shore and dispose of it properly , on our home lake We get involved in one clean up a year with our trout fishing brothers at Trout Unlimited, they always have a stream to clean that they can use some help with.
  8. I tried the Fiberglass cranking rod, Five Bass Limit loves them, he has fished them a long time. In the end for me my favorite cranking rod is a 6'6" Med action IM 6 rod, does the trick for me.
  9. I prefer the owners, I only use the EWG on thicker plastics now as I like the old school worm hooks better, the VMC's and Owners are the only 2 ewg I use, the Owners are better but the VMC's are not bad. BTW: you are right about having to close the gap on some of the eyes
  10. I have caught numerous fish this year, trigged weightless beaver craws and Brush Bugs, with those exact same hooks, in black with no issues You just have to set the hook with some power to get it through the plastic, like any other hook.
  11. Thanks, that is simple enough to do with my limited mechanical skills. That is what I was looking for.
  12. It's all about Sept and Oct 8-)
  13. I am sorry I should have stated myself more clearly. One of the ponds has standing timber on a side no one fishes, never seen a boaty on it. I am worried about the toher side and not seeing a rock or stump fast enough and scrapping the transducer. From the looks of things, it is all less than 5 ft of water on the shallow side.
  14. Quote from CWB:P.S. Mike- I hope you're kidding. Followed Mikes boat yesterday and he gave us GPS points of what went overboard ; here is what we collected:
  15. YO MOOK< we were on the phone for a while, why didn't you say anything WELCOME TO TEAM DEPENDS, the ELITE DIVSION
  16. along with said cigarette butts, from other thread.
  17. Hey: I have a Garmin 160 , I bought from Cart 7, he was nice enough to include a mount for our Min Kota. This boat is in it's last season and we have taken it off the lake to fish a few ponds, some with stumps and stuff we have never seen. I want to use the Garmnin but do not want to put it onto the back of the transom, any suggestions for a temp way to mount this transducer without going through all required on an aluminum Hull boat? This boat retires Nov 1, so I don't want to get too complicated. By the way : we are talking an 11 ft.tinny , 35lb thrust MinKota, no gas motor on this one
  18. Anyone have any cigarette butts they want to get rid of, I am going fishing today and will gladly throw em over board, I am willing to pick them up. Pics later
  19. ABSOLUTELY: Kaufman and Aykroyd were the two most gifted comedians SNL gave to us to enjoy. I loved Andy's refusal to be politically correct and he submerged into his characters as flawlessly as an actor like Deniro
