Why no larger than 1232, just a transportation and/or storage issue? I did have have to get a trailer for my 1436. That was a tough buy but I could tow it with anything. Now I am trying as hard as I can to not turn into a boat snob. About a year and a half ago I would have taken an empty wine barrel to fish out of and been happy with it. My 1436 jon was awesome and I got a TON of great times out of it. Also, I would say, keep in mind I fish Wylie which is (for NC) a large lake and part of the reason I eventually traded it in for a Tracker PT 175. If I hit smaller lakes and farm ponds I never would have upsized and the smaller sized job would not bug me then.

Truthfully man, it sucks but really do not go that small if you will be going to guys. I had a moded 1436 Tracker topper w 8hp OB and I can tell ya when I had a 200+ lb person up front we went SLOW, still fish-able but slow. I would never go smaller than that with 2 folks. If you have your heart set on it, I would really go for the 14 ft at least. Is a 10' doable, i think so, but if you plan on having it long and using it a lot, go bigger.

Well they can't be. Really. I mean on Wylie we have 1 resource officer to serve all of Gaston county. 1 County boat, I think overall I have seen a total of 3 police boats 1 from Gaston county, 1 from meck county, and 1 from SC. Given the size of the lake it wold be a miracle if they saw someone littering. Likewise in the mountains there simply are not enough officers to ever enforce it. What I would LOVE to see if some type of volunteer auxiliary formed to help them out. Get some citizens to sign on, train them a little bit and give them EXTREMELY limited authority to back up officers. Give them some type of decal to clearly denote their boats as part of the auxiliary. I would not arm them, but I have seen police departments do such things. Just having more boats out there with police emblem would make a HUGE impact on folks behaving.

I would make them worse than vandals. I wish I could carry a torpedo and a large caliber machine gun on my boat for those I see littering. Even worse than the lakes for me is fishing trout streams. Nothing makes me want to end someones life more than when i get 2 miles back into the wilderness and find a section of shore all tore up with beer cans, styrofoam worm containers, and other trash next to the stream I am wading. There was a launch near me they closed part othe summer cause the dude that had been maintaining it said he was done picking up after people. They have been majorly closing off a lot of the shore access in my area because of slobs. You go by the shoreline in some areas and it looks like a dump with broken lawn chairs, sheetrock plaster buckets, half burned trash, garbage hanging from trees (where the machine gun would come in). Makes me sick, absolutely sick. There is enough stuff that gets in there accidentally that we do not need folks deliberately throwing stuff in there.

I remember reading similar stuff on trout. What it came down to was trout were more skittish, more selective than other fish. The ones who were, lived longer produced more skittish offspring, and so on. I would think Bass would have some association memory as they adjust to the specific environment and the food, patterns, etc. I would doubt they are thinking type smart, but hey, cannot say i have done any studies myself aside from dragging some hooks through local lakes. One thing I can say, I have had days where I have throw a spinner onto a bedded Bass dragged him halfway to the boat, lost him, come back in 10 minutes and caught the same Bass in the same spot with the same lure, so if the do have a memory it is not always too sharp.

They absolutely do. I would be interested though in seeing further studies to try to definitely explain this. Is it a fluke brought on by natural forces?, is it pollution? They do a lot of guessing and conjecture in this article. Way I see it, it is a good starting point for identifying a need for further research to determine the facts behind it.

LOL so true. The boat was unstable and getting steadily worse through out the entire video. Then he hits the wake like that. He was a man looking for an accident to go to. Unlike the movies, in real life when you are in trouble you ease down on the throttle, you don't just push through, give your battle howl, and expect it will turn out all right. The 10 minutes though is worrisome. They are either incorrect on the amount of time, or they just circled him waiting to see if he'd wake up. LOL

Well you were LUCKY!! Yeah the Giants (Wide right) loss was the worst. After waiting soo long for a season like that Buffalo could have used a SB win. IMO, that was the only one that they should have one. With Kelly, Reed, Thomas, BRUCE!!, and the brick wall we had for an offensive live, that was one of the best teams I think the NFL has ever seen. They showed up gangbusters that every game that season except the SB. Was like someone replaced them with look alikes for the SB.

I have my life vest rigged with a leatherman and a long nose set of pliers. I never take it off. Especially when I am up front. My only issue is remembering to hook the lanyard to my vest when I sit down. On a windy day, I am much more likely to forget as I will be moving quicker after having pull the TM out.

I nearly lost my grandfather twice....but that's about it. Only thing I can think of that would be more miserable than my grandfather after losing a fish would be him falling in after he loses a fish. LOL

LOL 2 different answers. I fished in 30 MPH winds with gust to 50 in a 14 ft jon on lake Wylie once....ONCE. The waves were not bad, I spent most of my time in the most sheltered coves but it was a miserable experience I would not repeat. The largest waves were 10-15 ft in Lake Erie in my Uncles 21 ft Bayliner Trophy. Lake Erie has a nasty habit of going from calm to insane quick. That was one of those days, We were hitting Walleye like crazy, and next thing we new, we were pulling in all our lines, and going full throttle to the launch (20 miles out). I remember more than once we would come down the backside of one wave and the bow would go into the side of the next, had water coming over the top of the boat, bilge pumps running overtime. It was absolutely insane.

I missed it but picked up the highlights. I have never been so taken aback by a show of class and one of utter classlessness (if that is a word). So West runs up on stage, takes the mic from Taylor Swift to announce to the world that Beyonce deserved the award. What a steaming pile of garbage that boy is. I am sorry but he almost completed more passes to Phili yesterday than his own team. he has been consistently getting worse each season but Fox has some type of thing for him. We have no suitable replacement, both our second and 3rd stringers are mediocre at best. On top of that, the dude in charge of building us a competent offensive line should be shot. The only defense I have for Jake yesterday is he could not get a second to think before half the Eagles D ran over him (hence the fumble). We got one of the most powerful set RB and WR weapons in the NFL but wer cannot do anything with them because our quarterback wants to throw the ball to the other team and our line has not gotten the idea that we do not actually want the other team to run over our QB. That was just a pathetic game last night. Oh and can someone PLEASE check Fox for a pulse? I don't think the man realizes he is in charge of this team. ANY other coach in the league would have been pulling up turf and throwing it at his players. Sorry but it Fox wants to stay nice and calm and be the friend to the players, he chose the wrong profession, maybe he can get a job as the mascot. Heck when I grew up in Buffalo, we had levy, who looked like a frail old man at times but he would have been hitting his players with benches if the Bills put on a show like that.
