  1. You don't need to order anything but the knobs to replace the current ones. Simple change.
  2. 1. People - When I'm fishing I find people annoying and rather be left alone. I don't have problem with people who say hello or want to ask me a question, I hate people who don't keep their distance so I can cast, parents who don't tell their kids to give me space, people who surround me, people who make smart ass comments like "oh look, now you have dinner", etc. 2. Geese - Their poop is everywhere, they are in the way sometimes and they can be aggressive. They will take up the walk way as well. 3. Trash - Don't care much about trash on the grass or sides. When people throw trash into the lake or ponds I fish, it drives me nuts.
  3. 1) Read. 2) Learn. 3) Do. It's not like I catch big fish anyways. A 3+ lber here is a great catch up north and the areas I fish with a lot of pressure. My time will come, for now, I'll keep reading, learning and doing.
  4. It must be the coffee scent fuming through the plastic.

The more I look at this car the more I like it. I know this isn't a Mustang, but I've always loved this car from Rush Hour.

Now I can sort of see why everyone doesn't like it. It does remind me of a Honda Accord Coupe, the overall shape of it.

For everyone that's saying this car looks ugly, can you post something of what a mustang should look like? I'm more of a Japanese/German car fan. To me, this car looks nice, except the front could be more aggressive. The headlights are too small and that grill looks like a big piece of plastic.
  8. Both reels should have came with the red/pink ones stock unless you bought them used and someone swapped it out. I have the clear smoke ones that I ordered from Shimano and it made no difference to me other than it looked cooler. The red ones will cover 99% of all your bass fishing needs. Before I upgraded to the Curados a few years ago, I would take off all my brakes except two on the Citica to lower the spool weight, not sure it made a difference, it won't matter if you lose one or two unless you care.
  9. You're going to love that buff headwrap, it's great and there's a bunch of ways to wear them. I've been using mine a lot ever since I bought one.
  10. As long as it's above the line guide it's good enough for me.
  11. You can swap with the Aldebaran mg (5.8:1) gears. I'm not sure where you can get the parts from because NA Shimano doesn't carry them. You might have to order it from a Japanese website. It'll give you 23" IPT with the 5:8:1 gears vs. a E5 that is 21" IPT. The 50E stock gears is 25" IPT. So overall, you'll only be gaining 2" less IPT, not much of a difference and it's going to cost you quite a bit for parts and shipping.
  12. McCoy Mean Green. Give this line a try. It's strong and has very little memory. In Canada, bass season is only for 4 months, so I leave the line on my spools for the combos that I don't use for 8 months. When I take them out to the lake, a few casts later, the line will be limp again. I've spooled reels for friends and recommended it to people all the time and they alway say how much they love it.
  13. I love the pictures you took from your thread "The Last Hoorah". I think that's how pictures should be taken. It shows the lake, you or your friend, the bass and everything looks great. I actually feel like I was sitting in front of you in the same boat. I don't like it when people push their fish too close to the camera, nothing wrong with pushing it out a bit further to enhance the photo. If you over do it, it makes the pictures distorted. I've seen enough pictures of a bass in person and in photos and know how they look like. I would like to see the entire scenery.
  14. Nice report and fantastic pictures.
  15. This is the only time I'll downsize my lures. When I get short strikes on a spinnerbait, down sizing helps.
  16. I had a Eagle GT (6'6" M, Fast) and a President for 3 years and it was my dedicated 4" senko rod for fishing ponds. Great combo and very good for the price. The rod has good sensitivity and with the braid it's more than enough. I know there are concerns with a graphite body flexing for the reel, this combo shouldn't be fished in heavy cover or have the drag locked down, so you shouldn't run into any problems. I did use braid and caught a few pike no issues.
  17. 8lb 1oz hand, 5lb 3oz on ground. Random guess.
  18. Maybe you can try a small drop of rubbing alcohol on a q-tip and see if that helps. I've never done this before and I don't know if it'll hurt the reel. I would start very slowly and see if it helps. If it does, take your time and get all the stains off.
  19. I'm a line watcher myself. When I started out fishing with a cheap rod combo and cheap mono line, there was literally no sensitivity and you had to be aware of what your bait was doing at all times. When I don't pay attention at times, my line will start moving sideways and I would have never noticed it if I didn't watch my line. A lot of people I've fished with will look at their rod tip instead of the line.
  20. The Tx3s are the only stock hooks that I don't switch out to Mustad Triple Grips. I love them because they basically set themselves on fish. The only thing I don't like is they are not black nickel and will rust over time. I would put them on my all topwater, jerkbaits and lipped crankbaits (except squarebills), they are deadly and hook onto everything and I never lose fish on them.
  21. I watched all of season 7 and 8 in 3 days LOL. I want MORE!!!! Lunkerville brings me back to a little kid again reminding me of how it was like fishing with my dad and uncle. Probably the happiest times of my life.
  22. Pretty cool. It's the same fish looking at the cut on the mouth and tail.
  23. I upgrade to Carbontex because the Shimano Dartanium drag washers start to break apart. Fishwhittler pretty much summed it up. In terms of performance, they are both equally great until stock drag starts to degrade. I want to mention that the Shimano Dartanium 2 is not really an upgrade, but rather a fix I believe. It would always get stuck inbetween the ratchet and the main gear making it hard remove the main gear and when it starts to break apart, it gets on other parts in the reel. That's another reason why I upgrade my Curado Es.
  24. Where can I watch new episodes of Lunkerville other than on TV? The website has stopped updating new episodes for over a year now.
