Winningest Bait in B.A.S.S. History??
Spinnerbait? I always hear it being used and winning tournaments, but I am not so sure. Even the classic was won on a Lucky Craft spinnerbait. So I would go with the spinnerbait then Jig and Pig.

quality crankin rod on a budget
I'm in need of a crankbait rod at the moment to throw shallow to medium crankbaits. Most likely 1/4 bandits to 3/8 and very few 1/2oz's. I can't find a compre crankbait rod anywhere locally. I was wondering why everyone like the BPS crankin' rod? How is the sensitivity on that rod and is the fast tip too fast? I really want a crankbait rod that I can feel what my bait is doing and the crankin' stick got a lot of bad ratings on the bass pro site.

I just watched Role Models...
Just finished the movie not too long ago and it was great. Lots of laughs.

Manny Ramirez suspended
Why do you need a ban substance for baseball? Seriously. To run faster and out run others? To Jump higher than everyone else? To last longer, so you have more minutes in game? To have the smallest balls in the locker room with the biggest arms? The only thing I can see is a strength increase and if you want that, get your lazy butt in the gym and do some weight training. If you can't hit a curve ball, roids ain't going to help you. It's a skill. Baseball players are definitely overpaid and lazy. With the amount of money they make, I thought they would at least hire someone to help parts of their game they need helping. Roids + baseball = joke.

Curado 201dpv
I am using this reel right now and love everything about it except that it is hard to palm for the twitching motions. If you use it for cranks, it's great, but I find it hard at time for jerkbaits, poppers and walking the dog baits. A tad big for that.

Well I finally Did it- I developed my MegaStrike SpinnerBaits

Is a more sensitive rod really necessary?
It's apparent you have not been around long enough to experience the differences between good, higher end quality rods, reels, line and tackle based on your lack of knowledge of what was available "BACK THEN." No one is saying you won't or can't catch fish on less expensive, lower quality rods. Yes, I can go out and fish with a snoopy rod and reel or wal-mart special and more than likely limit out for the day, but I can guarantee you I would have caught more if I was using a better quality, MORE SENSITIVE rod. Of course I haven't been around long enough try and test out all the gear and make opinionated differences, but really, just like all things in life. It's about money and how you set your standards. If I go out and get skunked, I'll still be happy because I got to get out, but to others they might be upset. When I was talking about watching them bassmasters videos and seeing the gears they were using. They had no trouble putting a limit into the boats through the toughest conditions. I'm pretty sure a crucial/curado combo brought back to 1988 is better than anything they've use. Maybe I'm wrong, but wouldn't the top of the line rod and reels then brought to today be compared to a $100ish combo? This is just my observation and I'm not stating any facts.

Is a more sensitive rod really necessary?
I love it when this forum has these debates on rod sensitivity and bring up $300 rods. I don't think I can ever come around to throwing down that much money for a rod even if it's that much more sensitive. To me, catching fish is all skills. Sure, guys who buy a $50 combo might catch more fish, but I still think if you bought a GLX, you will up a few fish. I've been watching these old Bassmasters videos on youtube and the gear they use in the early 90s don't look very impressive yet these guys are catching fish. So it's all about preference. Back then, there was no braid, flouro, and those combos... u know...

My new favorite Spinning Line!
This is the only line I use now. Nothing bad to say about it. It's super strong and has no memory to it (no need for KVD L&L). I love this line. Everyone who has used it has nothing bad to say. Try it and you'll become a believer. Thing is, not many people heard or use it which is pretty neat. Go to and search for Mccoy mean green. It has a really good description.

Advice needed for all around treble rod
Thanks for all the input. I've decided to get the 7' and buy a top water/jerkbait rod later on when I have some extra money to spare.

Advice needed for all around treble rod
I am about to buy a 7 foot rod for an all around treble hook rod for shallow to medium cranks along with Jerkbaits/Sammy/Spooks/Poppers, but I want to know is a 7' rod hard to work these twitching baits compared to a 6'6"? I know a 6.6 would be easier, but I upgraded to a 7' to get more distance. How much harder is it to work my jerkbaits/poppers and sammys? Does it make no difference or am I going to have a bit more trouble as I already struggle quite a bit.

Anyone ever successful with true floating worms?
I actually heard a funny story the other day. A guy put an AB Floater on a 1/8 oz shakey head, and he couldn't feel anything. His whole rig was suspended about 5 feet off the bottom. LOL b LOL... that made me laugh...

Citica E would be a great choice.

Do you use a net or have one on your boat?
I hate losing fish. I land it in the net, lip it and let it go.

Hows Evertone Done So Far This Year. Heres Two I Caught Just Yesterday.
No one should be bashing him if he decided to keep those fish. He is allowed to any keep fish he catches as long as he stays within his limits and in some cases, we don't know why he took them out.
