  1. agreed... enough said.
  2. I don't have my camera on me so I can't take a picture to show you the cracks or scratches on my baits. As you can see in the picture, the new Rat-L-Traps uses a black EWG treble hook and they are sharp. So if you are saying the new hooks are dull, then I have no idea. You can also see the hook points on the bait and that is where my lures have scratches. I'm not the only one complaining about these baits, so there is a problem here. If I had any ideas my order would be like this, I wouldn't have placed it. My old Rat-L-Traps that I've had for years have caught me fish since I was a kid. It's the only reason why I went back, but I will not order anymore.
  3. That is my favourite pike/walleye bait. I only use it during the spring in small coves. During the summer, it's grub season. I have not caught a bass on it yet.
  4. I got a few from *** and I am not pleased. First off, the hooks are SUPER SHARP, so sharp that when I took the bait out, my trap had scratches all over it. Secondly, it was cracked on the bottom. Not really cracked, but more so split apart. I had to super glue it back into place. Lastly, the paint job was tacky as well and I could see my finger print on it, but I fixed that problem by placing in extra cold water. I am actually glad you brought this topic up because I wanted to ask the same questions. I didn't want to be the lone wolf ranting about the good old Rat-L-Trap. In my opinion, I wrote Rat-L-Trap an email, but I wouldn't extend myself trying to reach them, but if I had this happen to my lucky crafts, that's another story. Like Micro said, they are about $5.

yep... + an American Shad because it's such a eye candy.
  6. I picked up a bunch of foxy shad and citruse shad colored fat free shads to try out. I usually stick with pearl white or firetiger because they produced well for me, but time to see how these baits fair.
  7. That is the same reason why I want it along with a hand warmer.
  8. :'( You have no idea what it's like in canada right now. I can't even go outside without being prepare to get frozen.
  9. I picked up a bunch of the fat free shads in the Citruse Shad color. When do you like to use this bait? In clear water, little bit stained, really stained, muddy, etc?
  10. How mcuh are you willing to spend? $4-6, or 7-10 to 10-15-20?
  11. Use them in dirty to very dirty water, so basically they work well in any stained water. It's one of those baits that don't stand out, but have a really settle tone to it. After white and firetiger, it's my next favourite crankbait colour.
  12. Cool... I enjoyed scrolling through those pictures.
  13. Anyone else?
  14. I ordered a few from TW, I can't wait to get them. They look really nice from the ones I saw at my local tackle shop. I would of gotten them there, but they ran out of the cell mate color.
  15. I want to get a few more of these, but need to know a few things so I can limit my purchase to a minimum. Does the rapala dt have a wide wobble and the dt flat have a tight wobble? What colors are your favourite in different water clarity? Doesn't matter if they are reg. or sure set.
  16. Nowadays, everyone likes sexy shad or citruse shad, but If I had to choose 2 colours: white and firetiger.
  17. Favourite for 08' would be the Fat Free Guppy in Citruse Shad colour. Close 2nd would be a weightless 5' senko, but not much of a soft plastic person. I rather be casting all day or sitting there and fishing with live bait. I need patients and concentration for slow fishing.
  18. When I started crankbait fishing, all I did was cast the lure out and reel it in. I've caught plenty of fishes that way. Nowadays, I catch more fish on crankbaits bumping into structure, but at the same time, I also lose a lot more cranks. I'm still learning how to feel out the bottom, but at times I am still pretty clueless of what's underneath.

  20. If you can pay $15-20, get the pointer. If not, get the X-Rap.
  21. Jigs and Worms: 50lb Stren Super Braid Spinnerbaits: 15lb McCoy Mean Green Cranks: 10lb McCoy Mean Green
  22. LOL. Yep. I am a newbie ineedie...
  23. I bought this rod not too long ago because it was on sale. I used it once and it seemed to work okay, but then a couple of days ago, the rod look liked it had a dead spot when I caught a decent size bass. I looked at the tip really closely, I saw and felt this (picture 1). Some weird bumping spot. Not sure what it is, but could it be someone broke it, got it replaced and sold me a used rod? Note, the rod was in the wrappings. I want to know does a rod that have been fixed lose sensitivity? If it does, maybe I should go get it exchanged, but I don't even know if this is rod has a dead spot or it's like that. I have mh crucial, but it's a x-fast tip and I can't really compare to this mh f tip. My EliteTech crankster rod is made from fibreglass so that too is also too wimpy to compare.
