7:1 reel gear ratio
The reason why I made this thread asking for opinion was because I am afraid that if I buy a 7:1 reel, I might work things too fast without knowing. I just want to fish and not always having to worry if I am working a bit too fast. I know time will help me get used to it, but at the same time, I'm a leisure angler and want to make the best of my trips to the lake. Overall, I don't see much of a problem with a burner so I will get one this christmas. Let's hope that I will enjoy using it.

What annoys you?
LOL... I guess I should add on to my list: - BUGS inlcuding litter bugs - people who take every fish they catch - waves caused by fast moving boats who don't respect you fishing =P

What annoys you?
What is something that annoys you or something that you hate? It should be related to fishing ofcourse. For me, I hate red hooks. They always turn into gold hooks and it's the most annoying thing ever. I'm not sure if it matters if they are gold or red, but I don't like how they peel off.

strangest things caught?
Nothing strang, but there was this one time my rod fell into the water. I expected it to be gone forever, but I caught it after 2 hours of fishing. I was pretty surprised.

7:1 reel gear ratio
I'm looking at a Curado E7 for christmas. Can I use this gear ratio for everything except cranks? I know it excels in flipping and pitching when you want to get the fish out of the cover as quick as possible, but how about using it for worms, spinnerbaits, buzzbaits, etc. Is it too fast for worms? too fast in general?

Suspending Jerk Baits
Spend $15 on 2 pointers and that is bascially all you need to catch some fish. They aren't crankbaits so you won't lose as many. Chartruese Shad and Ghost minnow are the 2 colours you need. I buy x-raps and Lc pointers for jerkbaits, but for crankbaits, I buy them cheaper because I will lose a couple here and there and can't afford to lose one thats $15 bucks.

Spinnerbait Session

Carp HoneyHole Raided By Bucket Brigade
you can always talk to them, but if it doesn't work then it doesn't work and i think you have to move on and find another honey hole. some people just don't want to hear common sense and take it as an insult. i enjoy eating bass, but i would only keep a few decent eating sizes. most of the lakes here in canada sucks because there's too much traffic on them and people would literally take every single fish or up to the limit. imagine 4 friends on a boat taking away 20 bass. then come back tommorow and do the same. 40 bass. geez... you know how it goes. not to mention everyone else on the lake. so talk to them, try to make them understand, but like i said, don't over extend or they will definitely take it as an insult because if they if cared, they would not do it in the first place. if they didn't know, then they will accept it with ease.

PB Rock Bass
I love fishing Rock bass. I fish this small river that is probbaly like a creek size and it holds pretty big Rockies. They put up a good fight on ML tackle. They are fun to catch and because you can treat them like a Crappie, they are easy to realise than a sunfish is. BTW, they are usually pretty fat.

Citica D and Curado D
Now that the E models are out, I plan to buy the D models in order to save some money yet still have great fishing reels because of my limited budget as a college student. I've heard a lot of good things about these reels, but I can't find them on the counters in store to have a look at the sizes. I've heard that the Citica is a bit bulky to palm for smaller hands and I don't know how my hands will compare or I should say fair with the size. They aren't big nor are they small hands. Is the Curado D the same size as the Citica D?

old Johnny Morris BC
I guess $100 is expensive for it. I was wondering if someone used it before because I was curious.

Hollow Body Swimbaits

old Johnny Morris BC
Does anyone have this reel or have tried it. Any info on it because I can't find anything. It's supposed to be a $200 reel from what I heard. Pros and Cons? I am thinking of picking one up from BPS because it's $100. How does it compare to similiar reels? Model # JMP10H

Hollow Body Swimbaits
I bought some 5" soft swimbaits off *** because they looked so nice, but I don't know anything about it. I heard a lot about them, but it seems like there isn't much threads. What hook size do I use? How to fish them and what type of structure? Anything on them is good because I'm pretty clueless.

matching up rod and reel weight
heavy medium? did u mean medium heavy?
-
matching up rod and reel weight
If I have a MH rod that weights heavier than the M rod and 2 baitcasters. Ofcourse one being heavier than the other. What makes a better match? The heavier rod with the lighter BC or the heavier rod with the heavier reel? I know its all about feel and preference, but which one makes more sense to match up? I was thinking if you are using a lighter rod, you should be matching it up with a lighter reel, but maybe a heavier reel on lighter rod would be fine too. Anyways, I just want to know how you look at it and what makes sense to you.
